  1. I was just going to say, they are just bathbombs, usually with a menthol scent and a flat mold.
  2. I hope that holds true for my first show of the year in 2 weeks. I thought it was much later in the month, but glad I checked. I have so much packaging and labeling to do!! It's still in the mid 90°'s here, so hopefully the weather turns so people are in the mood to buy.
  3. At my craft shows I ALWAYS always! get at least 1 person asking me what type of fudge my soap is. Always. I also get many many comments "looks just like little loaves or bread" or "looks/smells good enough to eat" or something similar. There is no limit to the lack of common sense the human race has.
  4. @Scented makes rustics. Very nice rustics also. Yes, those are long wicks, and yes, you cut them for pillars same as you do for containers.
  5. Right? Me too. Unfortunately they are not mine.
  6. LOL Saw this on Facebook and had to save it. I post a lot of alcohol related funny memes, so this was struck a funny bone.
  7. I would say if you use it in your candle making, then yes, use it in tins too. The tops can still be exposed to UV Rays and turn, but also because by using them in your tins the same as you do your other candles, your process is consistent. Just my thought though.
  8. I don't have a lot to add. Sorry. However, for the above quote: You think you are kidding, but I DO put that on my wax tarts, and on some of my soaps, especially the ones that have food type embeds, or look like cupcakes. You would be surprised (or at least I was) how many people think the stuff we sell is food.
  9. Driftwood and sticks would work just as well.
  10. Why English is so hard to learn (a poem about plurals) We’ll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes, But the plural of ox should be oxen, not oxes. Then one fowl is goose, but two are called geese, Yet the plural of moose should never be meese. You may find a lone mouse or a whole lot of mice, But the plural of house is houses, not hice. If the plural of man is always called men, Why shouldn’t the plural of pan be called pen? The cow in the plural may be cows or kine, But the plural of vow is vows, not vine. And I speak of a foot, and you show me your feet, But I give you a boot — would a pair be called beet? If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth, Why shouldn’t the plural of booth be called beeth? Then one may be that, and three may be those, Yet the plural of hat would never be hose. We speak of a brother and also of brethren, But though we say mother, we never say methren. So our English, I think you will agree, Is the trickiest language you ever did see. There are several along this same track with how words that are spelled different sound the same, but as AJ pointed out above, how words spelled the same are pronounced differently. Then of course there's always tomb, comb, bomb, that you would think would rhyme, but are not even close. It's a crazy language for sure.
  11. Same as Sarah - all the time. I once blended 5 different honey scents that all had the same name, but all smelled completely different and by the time I was done I got the best creamed honey scent ever. haha reminds me of George Carlin's "Stuff" routine.
  12. That's to donate any amount that would round up your total to the next nearest $ amount, so it will never be more that $0.99. They've done it for years. Most people don't even notice or realize it's there. It used to be automatically checked, that if you didn't want to donate you would have to unclick it, however, I think they got so many complaints they changed it.
  13. I didn't like the groom's cake too much. The Bride's cake tasted like angels food cake, with almond and amaretto flavored ice cream. Yummmm
  14. I wish I could have a "official play day" that wasn't on a weekend that was also part of the normal weekend chore routine. I used to work halfday Fridays, and that was my "me/play time" unfortunately, until retirement or lotto winnings, those days are behind me.
  15. I've almost got this down to a science, and since I masterbatch, it makes calculations of what I need, and how much of each much easier. when I tracked my package yesterday it said my order would arrive to me by 5pm Saturday. Which means I will probably get it on Monday because out where I am (semi-rural-ish) UPS, and USPS are ALWAYS late. ALWAYS.
  16. I can overnight it from the creamery, but shipping to me would make a gallon of ice cream like $25 - Umm, no.
  17. Honestly, I didn't know where to put this thread, so thought I might as well put it here. I finally got around to finishing my PDD (pricing due diligence) on my soaping oils that I need and some that I just want. So today at 12:45 PM, I placed my rather large order (I won't have to order again for probably around a year to a year and a half ish) - from Soaper's Choice - and I got my shipping notice at 1:23 pm. That's some damn fast service! Now to see how long it will actually take to get to me. I will have to track it later tonight or tomorrow to find that out. I can't wait to get it so I can finally get some more masterbatch made, and start soaping for next year!
  18. HA and I thought you were talking about Blue Bell Ice Cream, not the fragrance supplier. Ignore me, I'm obviously off in my own little world these days. Sorry...
  19. 1997 is when I I made my first candle, and applied for my business license through the state and got my name set up, insurance in place, etc., etc., just so I'd have them when I was ready. I sold my first candle in 2003.
  20. I think they are based in TX, but for this particular flavor, they only distribute to NOLA. I don't know why. It's so good!
  21. There are too many for me to actually name them all, but most of the scents I have that I use come/came from NG, Peak (will not buy again), Lonestar and Candles and Supplies.
  22. Sorry, no. however, they have an ice cream called Bride's cake, and it has become my absolute FAVORITE - however, they only distribute this ice cream in New Orleans!! UGH okay, on to others to answer your questions, I just had to make my rant known!! HAHA
  23. Like others said, mix your scents. You can also make beautiful fire starters if you have any way to get an abundance of pine cones. I mix all my scents, samples are not, and any extra wicks I have that I won't use, or end pieces (you know that you cut off to fit the container) I use for fire starters.
