  1. Do you mean 4625? If so that's a paraffin blend pillar wax. I've never used that in a blend with 6006 for containers. I use a completely different wax for my containers (J-50 with additives) and use zincs to wick them.
  2. This is a good starting point, but I wouldn't rely too heavily on it. For instance it will not tell you how that wick will burn IN the container and once it's gets to past halfway down when things can start to go wonky. But as said, it will at least give you a good starting point.
  3. I've had it happen (can't think of the fo's off the top of my head) but it is very rare...
  4. I use TKB;s neon pink mixed with a red oxide and will get a nice true Christmas red and not a barn/rust red. The trick is actually not putting too much red in it, but enough to turn the pink red. I just mix until it looks about right and it rarely morphs.
  5. Personally, I love both CO and sunflower in soaps and my main recipe is high in CO and Sunflower, so go ahead and give it a try. Couldn't hurt and then you'll know either way.
  6. All of your kind words mean so much to me, but honestly the saying is true "do what you love and you'll never WORK a day in your life" It's not really hard work when I love it as much as I do. And if it is, well, at least it's rewarding and all of your kindness makes it worth it. Thank you all so much.
  7. Can you believe those were in a thick whipped soap? I was amazed and how thin and delicate they came out too. They all smell soooo good too! Cannot wait for them to cure out so I can take a bar for myself to use.
  8. Pouring cooler will reduce the shrinkage, but will not eliminate it. As Chefmom said, it is just the nature of pillar paraffin to shrink.
  9. Thank you! I just love making soap so much... It is so much fun.
  10. The Tuxedo yellowing went away so not it just looks grey and white. Still trying to figure out the buttons. The black candies I used bled a weird emerald green halo around them, so I can't use those unless I try to shove them in right before selling. So no buttons on these until that's figured out. The remake of Freshly Fallen Snow turned out great. Just like that last one. (sorry the pic makes it look a little greenish aqua color but it's really a blue and white in person) The yellow/tan, green and red is Home for the Holidays, and was supposed to be Christmas colors. I like how it looks though. It's a whipped soap. Smells so good. The gingerbread in this scent really comes out in the soap. The white, grey, and pink one is made with Ed Hardy dupe and a whipped soap. This one soaped great being a whipped soap. I just wish we would have made a 1.5 or 2 lb soap instead of just the 1 lb. It smells so good, and I think it looks so pretty!! Anyway - that was Saturday. It was so much fun!
  11. Blending fragrances is the best. You can take FO's you are not too sure about, blend it with something and viola!! Whole new scent to drool over!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE blending.
  12. LOL YES! Or you see a flavor and think of which FO's you can use to blend to make it.
  13. I was going to second C&S! When I went to the IGCA convention back in 2004 - they were there and had classes as part of the convention. Even though it was not a typical setting that they would have at their place, for the little 45 minute to hour they had everyone they were very thorough and it was very well planned out. I imagine it's even better for the actual classes at their location. Plus they have very good products that rarely get the attention or mention that they deserve (IMO) I would bet if you called them to talk about their classes they would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
  14. We didn't do the lotions or the candles, but I ended up getting everything else on the list done. I made up the baskets after my friend left.
  15. Thanks. We had fun. I cut them late last night, so I will have to post pics when I get home and take some. LOL
  16. I just unmolded the snow and tuxedo but havent cut. The tuxedo one is grey and yellow, so I don't think it turned out. LOL I'll have to redo it AGAIN, but that's okay. I kind of messed up on the scent on that one also. The two whipped are in the freezer so I can unmold today instead of waiting until Tuesday. LOL And I'm so glad you did OG - a few hours after my friend left I crashed hard and ended up going to bed at 8pm! LOL
  17. So my friend came today. Had such a great time. We made 4 batches of soap (really 5 because the tuxedo was done in 2 batches) The first pic is just whipped soap before we put it in the mold Second pic is a white/pink/grey-black Ed Hardy scented whipped soap (the end result of the first pic) - I LOVE THIS ONE!! Third pic is a remake of my Fresh Fallen Snow Fourth pic is Home for the Holidays whipped soap (supposed to be White, Green and Red, but it't turned yellow green and red - LOL) Fifth pic is a remake of my tuxedo soap So much fun. (They posted a little out of order - I don't know why...)
  18. YES. I had it a bit wrong. OOPS, so sorry. When I sit down and actually do all the math I can get it, but thank goodness for shortcuts! I'm so glad my SM3 figures all that math out for me. Thank you for correcting this for CB. I'd hate so see her ruin a batch because of my bad math.
  19. Yeah it's nice. SM3 has always had that and I LOVE it. It's great for labels. (if you use them. I sell my bars nekkid LOL)
