  1. Bittercreek North carries the J-50 they are in WI not sure how much the shipping would be to IL.
  2. I also have a Vanilla Velvet one in the same jar as the lilac and it is wicked with a 126 and is not producing so I am going to try a 1212 in that one. I have found in testing that the 1212 and 1312 are hotter then the 126.
  3. Thank you so much for replying. There isn't enough room in the bottom to double wick, guess I will try the 126.
  4. Why not make them unscented, undyed and call them "When the lights go out"..."Ready for any power outage emergency" That way it will cover any emergency when you need a candle
  5. Okay here is the candle I am currently testing..I have an 8 oz roly poly with 6% White Spring Lilac FO, 415 soy wax, used 2 orchid dye chips in 32 oz wax(it is light lavendar colored) I am using a HTP 105 after 4 hr burn there is still a hangup that I am not comfortable with...any suggestions on a different wick to try with this jar...it is giving me nightmares. I was going to try a 126 but was afraid that the 126,1212,1312 would burn to hot for this small of a glass.
  6. Where is a good place to get a knucklebuster machine?
  7. You can also try Marck and Associates they carry Anchor Hocking, Libbey, Mikasa, etc. http://www.marckassoc.com/
  8. You will have to have for your records(and the IRS) their resale number so that you have proof this was a wholesale order. Other then that I am drawing a blank, guess I have not had enough coffee this morning.
  9. I agree with Tallbaby and Georgia, find a woodworker. There are also companies that sell word patterns if you want to be the do it yourselfer. My FIL has a woodshop(for his retirement hobbies) so we are searching his pattern books for a good shelving pattern so that we can make them ourselves. If you are looking for something more then risers I would make sure that the handyman you choose has wood working experience.
  10. I would say do it lavender or maybe just slightly a little darker but according to Wikipedia there are several different colors you could choose. Here is a picture, that came from their site showing other colors of hyacinth. HTH
  11. Your very welcome, let us know how this turns out. Also you can check somewhere like www.allrecipes.com and look at their seafood recipes and get some more ideas. That is what I have been doing for this barbecue sauce.
  12. I found it, you can find it under the essential oil blend. This is what they say their ingredients are: Sweet Basil, Citronella, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Lavender* Description: Not your usual evil-smelling insect repellent. These eo's all have bug-repelling properties and in the right combination make a delightful scent for humans but not for bugs.* * Copied from http://addy.com/brinkley/410.html
  13. I use the White Spring Lilac from Southern Scentsations. It smells just like the flower. I am not a big lilac fan, but I have to say that I have been burning some new testers with this FO and I really like it.
  14. Okay got out my can of Old Bay maybe this can help ya find something close to what you are looking for it says the ingredients are: celery salt, spices including mustard, red pepper, black pepper, bay leaves, cloves, allspice, ginger, mace, cardamom, cinnamon, and paprika. On the back the directions for steamed crabs is to add the old bay and vinegar. I have to say good luck, this is not going to be an easy feat. Though I totally understand, I have a friend asking for a candle that smells like barbecue ribs.
  15. Being that you incorporated Vanilla Velvet into it you could call it something like Wild Summer Smoothie
  16. Yes you can make chunk containers, I believe that there are some pictures of some of them in the candle gallery.
  17. I find this slightly ridiculous, so I am going to respond once and this is over. I will caution you that you aren't in a good position to judge me as to what I know or don't know. I am entitled to my opinion as you are yours. I stated that I personally disagree, that was not an open invitation for this rebuttle. If you truly believe that in the grand scheme of things that no one cares, that is your opinion. I truly believe that in the grand scheme of things some people do, and I will do my best to provide my customers with the information that they seek, because in my grand scheme of things people matter just a little more then making a buck. AND in the grand scheme of it all you will run your business as you see fit and I will run mine as I see fit. I don't label my candles 100% soy, so if my candles contained a soy-derived lecithin then I would not be leading my customers to believe it was something that it is not.
  18. Thank you for responding..if you in Indiana still haven't gotten it, then I guess it isn't coming. I sooooooooooo agree with the not using this company part. Its a shame since she was so on the ball with responding to the original email. Even media mail is supposed to only take 2 to 9 days. ETA: As of 4/9 I have still yet to receive a response from this company.
  19. I personally disagree, if your candle is not 100% soy wax then don't call it that. It may seem insignificant, but in this day in age we have to consider the potential allergies that people have, if you have a blended wax then it should be stated that the wax is blended. It only takes one person to create a lawsuit about false advertising, and heaven forbid if it was because that person was allergic to palm or cottonseed, that will hit where ya where it hurts. I'm not saying that you need to list your ingredients on the label, but at least the consumer knows it is only soy and has the option to discuss the candles makeup before purchasing.
  20. Hi has anyone received their sample that was sent from Scents and Treasures? I know she said that they were mailed the end of March, I believe it was the 31st. Not sure how they were mailed, but I think that is a week is an awful long time to get from Indiana to Michigan. I hope that someone has received theirs, kinda starting to feel like this is a sham. Granted I know it was completely free to me, so I am not complaining just thinking that this may not be the company for me. I did send an email so will update with a response if I get one.
  21. Just an FYI about Microsoft clipart...those are for personal use, not for commercial use, so I would say use at your own risk.
  22. Honestly, I would explain the situation to a degree. Let them know that there was a problem with your shipment of wax and that there will be a short delay. Let them know that it is your policy to make sure that only quality product will be shipped. You could offer them a discount of like 10% if they complain or offer to let them be testers at no cost for your new product. IMO, I would much rather lose the sale then to send something out that has not been tested to its fullest. No sale is worth the possible effects it could cause without proper testing, put yourself in your customers shoes, wouldn't you rather wait for a quality product. As long as you are upfront and keep them posted I am sure you won't have a problem, granted there are always the few that no matter what are not going to be satisfied..there just isn't anything you can do about that.
  23. I have been getting great results heating to 185 adding color then adding FO at 175 and then pouring at 135. I also have been using a box to cool with, we have a draft we just can't find.
  24. Candles and Supplies carries some with wood lids
  25. What type of wicks are you trying to use..HTP?
