  1. Those are so neat looking, I bet they sold great.
  2. I have not had any of those problems except the slight burnt smell and I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I use 415 straight. I was wondering if those that use the 70/30 wouldn't be better off with the 600 series? I really want to like these wicks, but I don't think that I can carry just them. I haven't had any problem with the hot throw, though I did notice when I tested them with a parasoy I did not get a good scent throw out of Vanilla Velvet, which normally I can smell through my whole house.
  3. Okay I have the pic now uploaded. I think it might end up being ugly soap! LMAO http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22417
  4. Okay this is the best pic I have right now, I am not very good at picture taking with this camera. This is my first soap ever! I am just praying that it doesn't come out U~G~L~Y! and that it will actually be soap. I didn't make a full mold because I didn't want to waste my stuff just in case I messed it up. ETA: It is scented White Spring Lilac..sorry I just got so excited that it is done and I figured out how to get the pic off the camera and onto the computer..LOL
  5. OMG that sooooo sucks I hope that all goes well for you.
  6. LOL not to sure that I want to make anything that looks like buffalo poop!!!
  7. I do have one I just gotta get it on this dang computer!!! I will have one on here later I promise!
  8. Okay its mixed and in the mold................now just wait, and pray pray pray I don't have U~G~L~Y soap....lmao.
  9. Thank you all so much for your answers, luckily my FIL has a woodshop so I get all the sawdust I can ever imagine. Now just to experiment with cup cake liners and maybe even buy dollar store potpourri. Thanks again this is all useful information.
  10. I have a ton of scrap wax, I have done some searching and found that you should put the sawdust in a pan and then add wax until it is all moist then put it in your cup. Should I add more wax then that?? I don't want them to look like a clump of nasty sawdust..I want pretty firestarters any suggestions?? TIA
  11. You know believe it or not this is not fear of frying my skin with lye, or causing a volcano, or anything like that it is having U~G~L~Y soap I was going to make it tonight, but think tomorrow will be a better day
  12. Okay I have my mold made, now tomorrow I am going to mix this soap....I need some good soap making vibes over here...lol. I am soooooo nervous that I am going to screw this up. Crossing everything that I can cross!!!!
  13. I would look into some freight trucking companies, you may be able to get a good deal if you have a truckload to deliver.
  14. Maybe they have found how to make the candles on the net and wanted to know what kind of scents you carry so that they can try to duplicate your business.
  15. Just becareful that no matter where you get your clipart that you read the fine print. Like Microsoft.com clipart is only for personal use.
  16. There are also programs that can be downloaded to your computer that log all the keystrokes that you make. This gets downloaded to your computer without your knowledge. You should always run your virus scans, adware scans, clean out your cookies and temp internet files. Trust me if someone wants your information bad enough it doesn't have to be from you visiting a scam site, you could be unknowingly giving someone all the information they need just by typing away on your keyboard.
  17. That domain name is available you would just have to check that the name isn't being used in your county or state.
  18. I have been having troubles with the USPS too!!! I have been trying to mail out a money order twice now. I mail it and get an empty envelope inside their damaged mail envelope. This really pisses me off. I wrap the money order in paper, put it in one of those security envelopes and everything. The USPS response is that it is not their problem, how do they know what I put in the envelope. I cussed our postmaster and told him that some USPS worker is stealing mail, that once my postal carrier took it out of my mailbox it was the responsibility of the USPS, and that it appears their customer service sucks!!! I think when I try to send it out this time I will just go to the UPS store and pay bigger bucks to make sure that it gets there. I just can't believe the crap they are not responsible for and it is always your fault it happened.
  19. Thank you both for the links, I talked to my FIL who is the master woodworker and he said he can make one for me no problem. Now that I can find pics and dimensions I will be all set.
  20. Okay got all my ingredients, now if I can just figure out what to use to mold this soap I can begin....any suggestions??? I was going to make one since we have the wood, but can't come up with measurements. UGH!!!!!
  21. I think what Top and Vicky are trying to tell you that yes those might work for a 4 oz tin, but everyones wax/FO/additive combo is different, so what works for one may not for the other, this is where the testing part comes into play and where sample packs of wicks are the best to go with. What works for me probably isn't going to work for you, because we may use different ingredients for our candle makeup. HTH
  22. I tried to look up curd soap for you..as I don't know anything about it. I found this link and if you go halfway down it will explain about curd soap. As for a recipe hope someone can help you, or google curd soap recipes. http://99.1911encyclopedia.org/S/SO/SOAP.htm
  23. I would suggest triple wicking that container. I use 3 HTPs, I can't remember if they are 104 or 105 right at the moment and my notebook is not with me.
  24. I got my recipe, just need to figure out what FO I want to use and what to use as a mold...here we go again with the brain racking....lol
  25. That is what I keep saying...if I keep up at this rate I am never gonna have soap!!! LOL
