  1. Wow I guess 52 people have no idea either...well I guess that is a least I am not the only one. Really thought someone would at least say "yeah go with the sky illumination picture" or something.
  2. I am crazy for BCN's Vanilla Velvet.. I am a vanilla person and this one just smells great to me.
  3. Hi currently I am working on soy container candles and tarts, melts, whatever you want to call them. I have my business name, I have come up with an advertising message, but just can't seem to put it together and get a label or logo. My husband wants me to use round labels on the lids, since I am using flat lids, but I seem to think these are just going to get taken off and either misplaced or thrown out. This whole label thing seems to be my most undecided part of this whole business venture. I am using 5,10,16 oz Apoth., 5,9,15oz honey pot, 8,12oz metro, status votive, and 8oz roly poly jars. This is my company name and I guess you would call it a "motto" or advertising cliche: Delightful Illuminations "A Delightfully Illuminating Soy Experience" Now I guess the main suggestion I am looking for is what should I put on the labels... I thought about using an awesome sunset picture where the sky is all illuminated..but I am sooo second guessing myself...its driving me nuts. Thanks for any suggestions anyone may have. Heather
  4. I have heard that the fancy jars are not as thick as others, not that they are not as good, just not as thick. I have been looking into the Jar Stores metro jars, and now have looked into fancy's metro. The Jar Store is slightly higher on their product, but the shipping isn't that different. Though when I priced them at fancy the site said 31.00 for shipping of 2 cases from IL and it costs me about the same to have 2 cases shipped from Connecticut. So I guess I will have to try these fancy metro jars and see if I like them.
  5. Do you have any woodworkers in your area? I would print a picture and ask them if they can duplicate it, or come close to it. Heather
  6. I would send her a notarized cease and desist letter, and have it sent registered, return receipt requested. Let her know, that it has been brought to your attention, that she has misrepresented herself as you, and that it has been stated that she has told customers of yours that you are no longer in business. I would let her know that you are attempting to rectify this on the business level, but that if she continues to defame you that you will seek legal counsel.
  7. I think...though never been in that situation, would purchase the candles and donate them to a locally, I'm sure somewhere around you they could use them, like at a local safe house. Then I would politely ask who coordinates the fundraisers and give that person my fundraiser packet and ask that the organization would consider my company for their next fundraiser. I would be afraid that by giving the candles back, or asking to opt out due to my company would make the organization frown upon possibly using my company next year. It wasn't stated whether these were made by another parent, or a major company like Yankee, so it very well could of been made by one of your childs teammates parents, and wouldn't that make it an uncomfortable predicament. I guess trying to put myself in your shoes, and wanting to "do right" in all reality..this is not about you, your business, your craftmanship, or anything of the like...it is about supporting your child (the most important thing). Again just purchase the candles...donate them for a tax write off, or put them up for one of those week long power outages...lol
  8. Go and get some JB Weld...you can get it at Walmart, auto parts stores, hardware stores...its good for up to 600 degrees(well according to the package) Once this sets it will not leak(if you do it correctly) JB Weld will hold on a car radiator under pressure so I am sure it will work for your presto pot. Its what my man used on mine.
  9. You know if you have a bad experience with a supplier you should be allowed to post your thoughts and feelings about your experience, it is up to others to decide for themselves if they choose to do business with that company or not...we are all adults here...well okay except for one person. I do not feel that it is okay morally or ethically for a company to sign in to a forumn and use it to continue to engage in unethical business practices. I would not only report this company to the BBB, I would also contact the Attorney General's office in your state and the state in which the business is in. I would also file a complaint with my local authorities, and speak with the FBI's internet divison...God and this fool only knows what he has said to others, or what possibly he is capable of. It is one thing to defend yourself and it is another to go way overboard. As a business owner, if someone is not satisfied with my service in any regards, I do what I can to "make the customer happy"...isn't that good customer service??
  10. I would go to wick n clip and request a free sample in the comments/questions spot describe what you are using, jars, scents and they can send samples that would best fit your needs.
  11. I also use the Jar Store, they are great, and really once we compared them with some of the other companies, they were priced better even with the shipping. We looked into a company that we could drive to and pick up the jars, but TJS beat them by almost 50.00 and that was including shipping. Though just in case you weren't told, if you order 7 cases or more call the order in they give you a different price for shipping then if you order off the net.
