  1. What does GC comfy cabin smell like ? I've heard of their stuff, but have never seen it. I ordered fireside from peak last fall. it's way better than Y@n# ! I love those outdoorsy scents.
  2. Hmm, the 1st ones that came to mind were cedar from peak,or log cabin from BCN. Those are about the only "wood" type scents I can think of that don't have spices or other notes blended in. I've had customers tell me that it smells like a newly built cabin. HTH
  3. Thanks ! I kinda figured it would be around summer when they got them in. I will keep an eye on them to be listed. I missed the boat last year.
  4. I print my own labels (printmaster 18 program) and include the scent & any safety info on them. you can also have them custom printed ,and they can put whatever you want on the label here's a couple links: http://www.thecraftersloft.com/index.php http://www.kountryexpressions.net/store/Default.asp
  5. I took a chance ,and ordered this one because it sounded intriging. it arrived today and I'm in love Now I have to rename it ,because some people are weird about buying anything with the word or a picture of a witch on it. It's a very sexy scent, but I need to keep it family friendly. I have several shop owners I wholesale to that are in the Amish community & I don't want to freak them out So calling it "A Roll in the Hay" is out of the question
  6. candles and supplies have several really good ones. I'm addicted to spicy scents, so I pretty much order everything:grin2:
  7. here ya go http://www.backwoodsfragrancesupply.com/
  8. I know, you'd think she (Patticakes) was a ghost or something I can't understand why you wouldn't sell your products or numbers to another supplier if you're closing your business ? go figure
  9. Does anyone know where to find these ? C & S doesn't have them listed on their site anymore. I've Googled and came up empty. I need 60 of them.
  10. pumpkin spice, harvest moon, chocolate cappucino (new fave),sage & citrus, autumn spice, turkish hazelnut, indonesian cinnamon. some of those may not be on there anymore, but they were pretty good. I used them as mixers. The chocolate cap. is pretty strong both on the coffee & the chocolate I like their closeouts, I found pineapple cilantro there ,and now it's a best seller for me.
  11. Me too, I buy from all levels .There are a few that I get in 25 # quantities from Alpha, because I sell way too much of those scents to fool around buying a # at a time. I've bought so called high-end oils in the past that completely sucked in wax. So testing is well advised.
  12. Okay I'm doing it !! Is this Tennesse candle supplies you're talking about ? I don't want to send this precious gold off to the wrong person:shocked2: That way, if it passes approval you all can share in the joy and happiness:bliss:
  13. I'm pouring florals & herbal stuff, which is way out of the box for me , I usually do alot of bakery/spice stuff. I need a change of pace:D
  14. I use nutmeg from the candlemakers store & it's very good. I mix it with all sorts of stuff, but on it's own it's great. I also got one from candlechem and it's a little more like the actual spice.
  15. I keep track by my sales invoices and supplier invoices. I have quite a few that are best sellers for me ,and some that change seasonally. I'm always adding new scents because I'm a fragrance junkie:D
  16. relax, you'll do just fine you've been given some good advice. Make yourself a little check-list so you'll be sure not to forget anything. I too have forgotten to stop at the bank & get change and that wasn't fun just remember to be friendly, and ready to answer questions about your products. and don't let it bother you if you overhear someone complain about prices or tell their friend "oh look ,we could make this ". That used to infuriate me back when I started doing shows. Best of luck to you
  17. I was told to check them out,so I will order a sample. I've ordered samples of chai tea from quite a few suppliers, but none of them smell or throw like Patticakes. I had an 8 oz. jar burning outside on my porch, and my mailman said he could smell it across the street ! if worse comes to worse,I still have a scant amount in the bottle I could send in to have duped. If that's the case, I will sell some to anyone that's as desperate as I am:D . I'll keep you all posted.
  18. you could use the cracker jars and try some different style lids for them. Fillmore has quite a few different syles of jars/lids to choose from, and alot of them have rustic potential. C&S has alot of the rustic jars on their site too. I've done the old quart jars with the zinc lids and wire bail pints with glass lids before. keep in mind that if the jars not very rustic looking, you can acheive that look with your packaging. hope you find something you like.
  19. I got this scent from her before she went out of business, and I'll be darned if I can find a Chai that rocks as good as this one. I heard that she sold to another company, but never found out who that business was ! I am getting desperate, I hoarded what candles I had left of this & I'm down to my last one any info would be greatly appreciated
  20. She was an attending supplier last year at the Midwest Gathering, and I pretty much spent all my "stash cash" at her table ! huckleberry blues, pumpkin cornbread, granny's pumpkin, hazelnut coffee, and sugar maple. the sugar maple smells like old fashioned maple sugar candy -it's deelish ! all of Connie's stuff that I've used so far has become best sellers for me. I am so glad that she will be a part of the Lights & Lather gathering in PA. I'm putting money back now
  21. christmas spice/clove from C & S ,and red hot cinnamon from AWE. These are poured with WOW wax from NG,both are really strong,I will probably have to snuff out when hubby comes home. he's not a huge fan of my overly spicy stuff
  22. I used the gallon size clear jars. you can get them at Atlantic Spice It made transporting a snap ! baskets are great too HTH
  23. It's almost inevitable that alot of businesses will be increasing their prices this year, just because they have to compensate for increases on their supplies, shipping, packaging, ect. I have already done that at the shops I'm in ,and I haven't noticed a drop in my sales, which is a good thing. normally in the past,I would do my price changes in Aug./Sept. before my show schedule began. That way, it wouldn't be so shocking for my customers. As much as I hate to do it,unfortunately it must be dealt with. I will be offering "bundle sales" (buy 3 or more @ a special price) at my shows , just to encourage more sales. Hopefully things will turn around, after the election I've been told, and we won't have to keep taking so many hits. I wish you success !

I am currently working on my demo/speech for flameless home fragrance products . if any of you attending have suggestions for products in this category that you would like me to discuss, please contact me via our website. I am really looking forward to meeting some new faces this year along with the change of scenery. Thanks a bunch ! www.lightsandlather.org
