  1. Thanks Shari and everyone else! — I’ll put that one on the “look for” list. Just sent in my first NG order. Took lots of advice and ordered: vanilla champagne, childrens room (Thanks Tappeur for that suggestion), omg olive and more! (Need to hit my local supplier for more wax and jars now!)
  2. Hmmm. 2018. Hands down winner: 1. Cranberry marmalade (CS). 2. (with a bullet heading for 1) Fresh Coffee (Cs) Everything else is practically a tie - Red Current, Pumpkin Souffle, Toasted Pumpkin, Kelp (BA), Peppermint with anything, White Birch (CS), Leather (AAA), Lemon Pound Cake, Apple anything, Mulled Cider, Lavender, Tobacco (BA) I’m testing out new Lemons (iced lemon biscotti from recommendations here I think will be outstanding!). Also, looking for a new rain/water/ocean scent - (that doesn’t smell like laundry detergent) and looking at Lavender and lavender blends.... Currently needing a “baby” scent — am looking at different baby powders but worried about the powdery smell not having good HT in soy...
  3. Excellent idea. (And you don’t like lemon 😂). I’m not a huge bakery/vanilla fan but my daughter is - so she’s my tester on those! I have a multitude of FO from NG in my cart.... I’ve never used them but have been reading about them from many I respect on this board. Thanks again for the suggestion!
  4. The bride may have a preference — but I wanted to “steer her” one way or another. Don’t mind giving her a couple of choices just trying to narrow it down
  5. Totally my thought on florals — altho I like the daffodil one...you bring up a good point. Thanks
  6. Thanks Sarah S....I’m concerned about a floral because I’m not a real floral fan! Altho I do like daffodil...hadn’t thought about a champagne....do you have one you like? I’m honestly leaning toward a white cake and calling it wedding cake or even a lemon cake scent. Does anyone not like lemon???!
  7. A dear friend of my daughters is marrying this summer. She is paying for the wedding herself and I know has so little money...I’m thinking of making a small candle as a “party favor” for her guests. It will be a gift we give her. The question becomes—-what fragrance??? (I want to only have 1 scent). I was thinking of a white cake scent (like wedding cake)...or maybe putting a touch of chocolate in (like grooms cake)...or maybe Daffodil??? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
  8. Climate controlled. I store candles in boxes jars come in with fragrance written on outside and they are just stacked against a wall in extra bedroom (used to be a kids room and that kid just had to deal with mom’s stuff)
  9. FYI: just went to reorder and this FO has been changed.
  10. Thanks Forrest — I have found that to be true. Overwicked at first but perfect a month or so down the road...i’m just so darn impatient.... Thanks Trap — i don’t mind covering and waiting longer — glad y’all didn’t tell me I needed to start testing with a brand new candle!
  11. Testing...(again and continuously)...and would like some advice. Trying new wicks and new FO. And wondering about cure time. I normally wait a week - and pray it works...here is my senario: let’s say my HT is weak but promising, do you stop testing that candle, cover and let it cure longer?...or do you belive I need to start over with a “fresh” candle....in the past, I have stopped testing that particular FO and moved on to others (sooooo many FO’s 😂). But I have a few I really want to work before summer and I’m trying to determine how I’m going about the testing phase. Currently, I have 3 different wicks going and 2 different FO loads but only 1 candle each...wondering if I want to make 2 candles each for curing times purposes and want y’all’s sage advice...
  12. Candles wax used: 464 fragrance load (%): 12% FO purchased: Oct 2018 average cure time: hmmm, after a 1 week cure time the HT was light. I’m trying to clear out my personal candles and lit it today (5 months later... maybe). It’s burning in a small bathroom of a 2800 sq ft house and can smell it thru 1/2 the house. Wax additives: none container size: 3” diameter glass wicking notes: standard Cold throw: good Hot Throw: good 8:10 Morphing: no Other notes: I’m always looking for pine/wood/smokey scents. This is different. A little men’s cologne-ish but am willing to blend it for improvement. Also retesting with new wicks.
  13. Mock orange is very sweet....doesn’t really smell like orange at all. So a sweet floral would be where I would start. (I’m just now experimenting with florals so can’t lead you anywhere specific)
  14. I’m working up my first Just Scents order — and have so many suggestions from all your posts my budget is tapped out. However... I am intriqued by Free Spirit description...”exotic,provacative...top notes bergamot, lemon, petitgrain (?). Middle mahogany, frankincense, cedarwood. Bottom patchouli, vanilla, musk.” Any of you tried this one? If it was listed, I missed it...(btw, am totally ready to take one for the team and give it a try 😉)
  15. This is how I would figure it. (Somebody correct me if I’m wrong) general math I use is: ___oz of wax x % of FO you want = oz to use Trap has 1 lb 8.9 oz = 24.9 oz of wax. So 24.9 oz wax x 1 % odor elim = .249 oz of odor elminator or .25 oz (i would measure up) DO NOT SELL YOURSELF SHORT!! i think you have a decimal or your scale would not show 1 lb 8.9 oz.
  16. Free 8 oz FO with a $75 purchase. Today only.
  17. To start, I REALLY don’t need another supplier....but I was searching a lebermuth fo name to see what might show up (mainly for less product to test instead of the amount Lebermuth has listed)... and, lo and behold, wfmed.com appears. They have several products with the same names as lebermuth fo, labeled as “green health”. Lebermuth isn’t listed anywhere. According to their website, They are located in Virginia and have been in business 20 years. They have FAQ about essential oils but don’t say a word about fragrance oils. Before I call them and start asking questions. Thought I’d see if anyone here knows about them or has any info. Y’all I trust implicitly!
  18. Candles: wax used: 464 fragrance load (%) 10% average cure time: 2 weeks Wax additives? container: 3” diameter/glass wicking notes: standard Cold throw: excellent Hot Throw: very good This fragrance smells exactly like name brand red currant. Very good seller at holiday and in winter.
  19. Candles: wax used: 464 fragrance load 1oz per pound average cure time: 2 weeks. Wax additives? None container: 3” diameter glass wicking notes: standard Cold throw: excellent Hot Throw: strong Morphing: none. Scent stays true
  20. Ok. Commenting here as well. I started making candles with 4 FO from CS...they were outstanding! I assumed all FO’s were good if you bought from a reputable company (I was such a newbie 😂). Ordered TONS of sample oils from bittercreek. Probably $75 worth. Only 1 had any scent OOB. They rest smelled like the plastic bottles they were shipped in. The one that did have a scent didn’t have any HT when I burned it. I ended up throwing them all away and have never ordered from them again...
  21. Keep us updated! Can hear the excitement in your voice and it makes me want to place an order immediately! I will try to restrain myself to wait for cure time and HT ❤️
  22. Bit the bullet and ordered from Elements for the first time. Just what I needed (like a hole in my head).... Another supplier... and i have all y’all to thank! 🤣 😘
  23. I’m trying some Citronella candles this summer (gotta love Texas!) and am intriqued with the Oregon Bug-off mentioned in this thread. Anybody have any advise on % of using these 2 oils in a candle?
