  1. Hey Congratulations @LilFirecracker I'm sure you'll do fine. 🥳 Looking forward to seeing your store and products.
  2. I do the same thing, I've wondered if other people do too, now I know. 😊
  3. Yes, I totally agree with those statements, I don't like all that paraffin bashing either, it's ridiculous, creates a bad vibe and is a big turn off. As a buyer, when I come across a candle seller that is going on about paraffin being toxic or any other stupid claims, I leave their store immediately. To me it looks like they don't know what they are talking about and I don't trust them. There's nothing wrong or dangerous with using paraffin wax for candles and I believe it is food grade paraffin. If it were so dangerous and had been proved to be dangerous then it would be banned like lead wicks were. If people don't like something for whatever reason then they don't have to use it or buy it. I like and use paraffin along with several different waxes. Paraffin is better when making certain types of products. And making high quality products along with proper testing is a must, no matter which wax you use. 🤗
  4. Oh well, life moves on, I wish them well. 🥂 Yes, it is nice to see you on here too. 😊
  5. Sorry, I can't answer your question but your tropical gel wax candles look amazing.
  6. Oh my gosh, hi Lyschel. I just now put everything together. You also have Karner Blue Candle & Supply. I have spent a lot of time watching you and your videos and feel like we have met, LOL. I learned a lot and enjoyed spending time with you, Christina and Molly while watching the "How to Test Burn Jar Candles to Figure Out the Best Wick Size to Use" video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S1mZ7IUxmA Thanks for sharing your knowledge. 🕯️
  7. Hi and welcome. I have shopped at Candle Cocoon before and I'm sure I will again. 👋 😃
  8. Hi @Brittney3202 In my opinion and experience with trying out new waxes that I'm not familiar with I say precisely following the wax manufacture's directions is definitely a good starting point. After all they did make and test the wax and they want users to like their end products so they will buy more of the wax. From there you will establish a baseline so to speak and you can start trying other things you feel the need for. And be sure to take step-by-step notes of what you do so when you find a winner you will be able to reproduce it. I have experience with Coco83, it used to be my favorite wax but I have not bought any in a few years and I'm sure the wax has changed. It used to be and it sounds like it still is a wax that has to get very hot. I always heated it up to 190-200 F and if I remember correctly I added any dye around 190 F and added FO between 170-185 F and slowly stirred with a big plastic spoon for about 2 minutes, something like that. I would get great results but that was then. I think it's fun to try new waxes, keep an open mind and enjoy.
  9. Those candle containers look very pretty. I don't like to pay for international shipping though.
  10. Hi @obsessed. I see this is an old post but just wanted to mention this and I hate that you felt disappointed or upset. I don't think anyone was trying to be mean, especially to you personally, I didn't take it that way at all. Opinions and experiences were posted and everyone has the right to do that so we can all be aware or learn from it. Not everyone's taste and experiences will be the same, that's why people should be aware of other's opinions but ultimately try things out for themselves if desired.
  11. I have not simply because I want to buy from US manufactures and suppliers and I don't want to pay for international shipping.
  12. I haven't heard of these things. What are "Cavs numbers"? What does "white American manufactures" mean?
  13. Welcome to Craft Server. You'll find lots of great information here.
  14. You could ship with cold packs but that could get expensive.
  15. Hi @Altore. Are you in France and purchasing waxes in your area? I would imagine too that those waxes are also different than what we have here in the USA. Yes, it's very unfortunate that there isn't stricter or narrow requirements for candle wax manufacturers. It's like they can put anything out there whenever they want. Just like with cooking, I don't understand why they don't have a specific recipe for each wax that they follow each and every time. Just like each time I want to make a particular batch of candles, I precisely follow my recipe, I don't just throw whatever in there. Except nowadays the wax is an unknown variable when it didn't use to be. Good luck with your testing.
  16. Just off the top of my head I would say paraffin, beeswax or palm wax. If you do some searches on here you will probably find some answers. Good luck.
  17. I know, a few years back I started making and testing candles and it was more fun and much easier to wick a nice, strong candle. That didn't last long and then the crap waxes started showing up. 😝
  18. "Brainwashed" is one way to put it, LOL. And you can't always educate stupid. 😃
  19. That's a great idea he had to save them and give them another purpose. He made customers happy and still made money in the process. I love creativity that goes above and beyond. On the topic of discounts, if you are a high-end brand or want to be a high-end brand then you don't give discounts or have sales. That's not what you do. I doubt Ansel Adams ever offered any of his photos at discount. I've never seen a Rembrandt painting on sale. You don't see fashion houses like Prada or Louis Vuitton running after Christmas sales. And what do they all have in common? Great quality first and foremost, scarcity or limited access, high value, respect and admiration of their products and the feeling that the price is worth it. Something to keep in mind when branding and setting prices. I'll just say, I hate to see good artists/creativities just basically giving away their products and not getting what their talent and hard work is actually worth.
  20. Candles and Supplies is another good FO supplier.
  21. Yikes! Photos of those burnt and charred wooden bowels is scary.
  22. Hello @Weecraftydragon in Scotland and welcome, I'm in Tennessee, USA. I'd love to visit Scotland one day and take lots of photos. 📸 There's lots of good information in this forum and lots of nice and helpful people.
  23. Hello @Monique. Sounds like you need to use less red dye.
  24. That's for sure, heck, some of them don't even bother to read the descriptions and information right there on the product listings. Then some get upset if a scent was milder than they anticipated or if a candle is smaller than they expected even if all that was described on the website.
  25. Hello @blacktieaffair. I know this answer is late but I'll add it anyway for you or for anyone else wondering the same thing. Those labels are simply an image file or a background file with text over it. As mentioned you can probably find free ones to use for commercial use by searching for something like "labels with background image and text" or "candle labels with background image and text". You can also create your own in several ways such as inserting an image and text in a document or using Canva as they mentioned or Adobe Spark my have a free version that does the same thing as Canva. Many online label companies such as Online Labels, Zazzle, etc. have software that let you create labels such as that. This is just a few options.
