  1. I'm sorry- but I have to ask....where and what is Gateway??
  2. As a matter of fact, I did trim it. I'll try and relite it and pour some wax off, before I go trying a different wick. OH---AND the 2nd one I poured had quite a bit of frosting ....same "ingredients" as the first one
  3. well, the Patchouli I got did not smell right OOB, but when I made and burned a candle, it did. Try making a candle, and don't forget to wick up since it is a darker oil
  4. well...I'm burning mine now. Will let you know how it goes. Was a little sad this morning, when I found a couple of small frosted spots-- on towards the top, and one at the bottom .one thing I did love was that there are NO WETSPOTS!! Perfect adhesion all the way through. Cold throw is still incredible!! 1hr later--OMG, I have the biggest shroom I've ever seen, and a total meltpool that is over 1/4" deep!! Guess I should put her out and wick down . OKAY----HELP NOW!!!! I put it out and let it set up...nice and smooth. Then decided to re-lite it, and OH NO....the wick now looks like it's drowning!!
  5. Hi, I have not used that particular wax. Where do you live?
  6. Finally got the chance to pour one today....and oh how beautifully smooth it looks!! I colored NavyBlue--wanted to test a med dark color. Scented 6+% Midnight Suede. AND--the cold throw is knocking my socks off!! Can't wait to burn this baby tomorrow, 'cause I'll be good and wait at least 24hrs...lol.
  7. your candles came out really pretty in those jars. I had gotten mine from BCS last year. For some reason they do not sell for me :cry2:, so now I have to put them on clearance.
  8. for some reason, mine always burned fine w/an RRD 47, or a 50 for the darker oils
  9. OMG....my sample did come today....I am extremely impressed. Can't wait to try this out (gonna have to wait 'til Mon. when the kids go back to school )
  10. I really like CandleScience's....just not too sure if it's close to BBW (sorry, I've never smelled theirs)
  11. Dang, if I don't get mine tomorrow, I'll have to wait 'til next week . I really like the throw I got w/the 402
  12. aaahhhh...the cooling off too fast issue. I started putting a cardboard box over top to cool them slower. That is a tip I found on here
  13. Perhaps it is a bad batch?? I've heard others talk about it. What kind of wax is it?
  14. Another thumbs up here. I get my Sage&Citrus only from them!!
  15. Yes, wick is a tad too big I believe that you should reach a full meltpool in about 3 hrs or so on that size jar
  16. Bittercreek South is right there in Texas. They have a nice selection of scents. They also have EcoSoya pillar blend soy wax, which is what I use. Unfortunately they do not have tart molds But if you are close enough to them, you could pick up your supplies and avoid shipping costs Oh...also LoneStar Candle Supply is in Texas too
  17. Well.....I'm discontinuing mine--they do not sell for me . But I have heard some other members say that they do well with them.Guess it just all depends on the market in your particular location.
  18. OMG...I must have half a dozen slices on my hands and fingers, just from getting those darn things apart I use the Advanced, and I like it very well. It has been the most consistent for my environment. I have gotten the EZ Soy 'cause of the price, but it does look crappy, so it works well for my tins.....all you see is the top . But I did find that you have to wick up a size when using it. I too would also recommend that you find a wax or two from a supplier close to you, and see what works best for you.
  19. Ah yes Kim, the candlesource is a good one too, and I order off the website as well. I always get my Sage & Citrus from them. The only thing I've gotten from Candlechem that I didn't like was their Cedar FO. It was very weak.
  20. For me-- Cranberry Marmalade from CandleScience. Has an incredible throw, but JMO
  21. Greetings, Not sure where you live, but CandleScience has Soy based color chips, only there are only 4 colors. Have you "played around" w/your pour temp, or warmed your jars, or cooled them w/a box over them?? Just thought I'd pass on some great tips I've gotten from here .
  22. just had to let you know that I have a Weinerdog too
  23. sorry for the dumb question, but what do you scent them with?? And then how are they packaged?
  24. I got started w/a kit off eBay. I've had some issues w/her, but Katydid's Corner has always given me top notch FO's.
