  1. I have not heard of that before. Why don't you call or PM Jason and ask him? Unless of course, someone here knows
  2. that is the same feedback I got--NOT to add anything except FO and color. I understand the shipping $$ issue, but have you tried Millcreeks?? It is wonderful (JMO ) - not too thin, but not thick like a cream.
  3. dang, I forget who I have to thank for this .....I poured a 464 candle today, adding 1 1/2 tsp of Crisco w/4oz of wax, colored dark, dark blue, and 6% FO (NG Black Magic) and....... IT IS BEAUTIFUL can't wait to burn this baby tomorrow, especially since I forgot to wick down (oopsies) will post results results from today- found one very small spot of frosting( I can live w/that) melt pool got too deep, 'cause I didn't wick down. but it seems to not have the throw that the straight 464 does. it is possible that I shorted the FO% a bit, so I will do another and pay closer attention. it did set up beautifully after both test burns.
  4. First, I would contact them, and tell them just what you wrote on here. Perhaps the "problem" can be corrected. You should definately let us know how that goes. Also- sometimes FO's smell different once you've "made" a tester or two. IF none of these helps, you could always try selling them in the Classifieds here. HTH
  5. JMO- I really like the Scotch Pine from CandleScience.
  6. sounds ok, as long as the meltpool isn't too deep. this will make your candle burn faster. you could always try one by wicking down. then you can compare the two.
  7. as far as I know, your meltpool should be consistent during the entire burn process. what size (in diameeter) are you referring to?? a decent meltpool should be about 1/2 inch deep, but it depends on the diameter of the jar as far as how long that should take. for example- a 3inch jar should take 3 hrs to reach the proper depth in the melt pool. HTH
  8. :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:ty, geek & top
  9. Greetings Shannon . WELCOME AND HAVE FUN!!
  10. I cure mine at least 48hrs--with the lids on. I agree w/TOP...give it another day or so.
  11. ANOTHER VOTE FOR MILLCREEK!! you won't be disappointed
  12. what kind of containers are you using??? you can always leave them "un-colored". just a suggestion. also- when I use the Ecosoya CB Advanced, it has yet to frost at all!! But some people cannot get a good throw w/it. It does well for me. HTH
  13. my first vote is white. or perhaps Coral??
  14. what kind of wax are you using?? and are you using the same size jars?? Same FO?? sorry 'bout all the ???'s, but so many things can factor in when you are working w/soy.
  15. I agree w/Kris. You can always "hide" that little bit of shortness (if it happens). I tie a piece of tan gingham cloth around mine, and don't color them. looks very country...lol
  16. I had some wet spots in my 12oz frosted beanpot jars. IMO, it made them look worse, due to the fact that the glass was not "clear". I think it took away from the frosted look.
  17. when I was using EZ Soy, I never washed or warmed my jars. I always poured slushy ( around 100 ) and never had any problems. You just "play" around and find what works best for you !!
  18. I'm going to be selling them as "travel size", 'cause they are perfect for your purse ....or I may sell them as trial size. Then I also have 4oz Malibu's.
  19. here we go--here's my description... on the + side: excellent release from the mold. even the wick pins came out without taking a hunk of the bottom with it!!! NO CRACKS on the - side: ALOT of frosting (even w/a light color) I think I melted too hot though- accidentally got temp up to almost 200:mad: (only planned on going to 175 max). Added a light color (Coral) and FO @ 160, and poured @ 150. Covered w/a box. So how do we "fix" the frosting issue J ?? burned my first one today...perhaps I may wick up w/this wax??? used an LX12, which is what I use w/my votives--left a bit of wax actually--maybe this is the wax I need for my pillars!! ( I cannot wick them right ) I guess the hot throw is really good, since I don't really know how good a throw you should get w/a votive
  20. Amiee--I know the bottle you're talking about. The reason I didn't get them is because they are HDPE plastic--great for FO's, but they do not squeeze enough to get the lotion out of them. Let me know how they work for you, perhaps I'll switch . Then I can do what you did, and get some FO's at the same time.
  21. My all-time FAV-- Cranberry Marmalade from CandleScience. My house smelled yummy all night long just from pouring one!! My favorite "clean" scent is the Sage & Citrus I get from TheCandleSource. I won't use anyone else's.
  22. I use the lotion from Millcreek too, and let me tell you- WOW. Just look at the ingredients- the first one is Aloe Vera Gel w/Shea Butter....I got my 1oz bttls from TheSage.com HTH
  23. I will definately give that a try, TY J. THIS IS AN AWESOME THREAD!! I will let you know what happens.
  24. wow- mine were separate too, but at least they were all in zip bags. I'm not real sure what to tell you......I mean, once the bottles are exposed to air, they technically are not sterile anymore. I hope that some of the "professionals" around here will chime in.
