  1. well I tried 1.5 % BWax and its to soft tried 3% to soft I was hoping it would be easy so I could just add a little BW at the end of a pour to harden but its not looking good do all of you pour separate batches for your melts ?
  2. @Moonstar I love it it has been very good to me I get a good hot throw with almost everything ! Which is why I dont realy want to switch to another wax I was thinking at the end of my pour if I could just add alittle beeswax to harden it then I could keep my sent throw and get it hard enough to stay firm in the molds . I guess I could mix it with a pillar wax instead I know the bath and body people at our market use bees wax to harden their lip balms and deodorants and etc .
  3. Hi everybody i want to add melts to my candle stock! I tried it then realized my wax is to soft . I love my wax and don't want to switch can I add alittle beeswax to harden it that way I am still getting my wax and the same scent. If so how much should I add ? Thanks Kim
  4. @TallTayl I was just looking the ones you speak of are not marketed for wax melting but for food cooking right ? Are they one and the same thing ? I want one too Tell me do you guys mix the color and fo in the pot or after taking it out of the pot . And if after do you pour wax in another container to mix it do you turn it off at 185 ?
  5. Check before you drive my Wally World does not sell any candle making supplies ?
  6. @Trappeur and @TallTayl Uggh so I tried heating the jars and then my fo sunk to the bottom , I am sure this has nothing to do with the wick stickers but as I was digging out the wax to check and make sure that was indeed a 1/4 in layer of fo in the bottom of the candle the wick was on there pretty good ! If I use that oil again going to have to get it alittle hotter so it does not separate . Thanks for the tips guys ! I did tell BA about the wick stickers it was a small set of about 100 and I won't be buying them there again can't risk it ! No they did not offer a replacement !
  7. @TallTayl no I have not used the stickers from BA before ! I was wondering if temp may have been an issue! I do not own a heat gun yet I could heat the jars thank you for the input ?
  8. Thank you for your quick reply ! I will try that ?
  9. I think maybe be stirring when close to setting right before it hardens. 10. On my 9 oz apoth jars every time I try to pour the wick tabs float to the top I tried cleaning the wick base with alcohol and bottom of jar it only started happening after I got new glue tabs from Bulk A anyone else experience this ? My wick I was using were from candle wic Zink 18 custom made been fine I am probably into to the batch around 100 of 500 so I don't think it is them ? Had to repour about 8 so far ugh !
  11. I have been experimenting with additives and to tell the truth I am not positive they help ? I tried vybar inconclusive ,SA inconclusive and uv inhibitor as well I have gone full circle and am now back to just wax Fragerance o and color my 2 waxes are G 464 soy and Parisian 4630 . What I mean by inconclusive is it seems to help sometimes others not . I do want to try alittle beeswax in them to see if it will up my melt point to combat the high temp here in Florida . Good luck !
  12. Hi jcandle attic sense you are the bath bomb queen on here how do you keep them from going soft after a couple of weeks ours turn out awesome but after awhile they get soft again ? We live in Florida so I assume it it the humidity ! Anyone use silica packs or have any other sugestions ? I just tried taking almost all the oil except the fo out then they crumble the recipe I am using has 4 tbs fractionated coconut oil 1 tbs water and 1 tbs fo that is all the liquids ? They come out hard w put it in celofane gift bags and twist tie any sugestions from any of you would be great

I like zink 44-24-18 6 inch in Parafin and LX 18 in my soy I am doing small containers and I put 3 wicks in my 9 oz jars hope this helps I just went to Candle Wic and ordered 500 of each before that I had been working out of sample packs I think I did sample packs from Candle Science and Lone Star and Aztec don't forget wick stickers and maybe some wick bars to hold the wicks and HAVE FUN ! I too started with my daughter ans a bonding craft and we are hooked ?
