  1. I wish I could get the gist of pouring that wax....I end up with about 1/4" at the bottom that isn't crystallized! Yours look beautiful; I really like the jar and the dual layers. Good job!
  2. I really like the 70/30, but admit I haven't tried all that many of the soy blends. I find the 70/30 easy to work with and clean up is a breeze, IMO. As most people have stated though, it's a matter of preference! Good luck!
  3. Amazing as always, Donita!! Actually, I've looked at that container many times thinking the same thing. But.....doesn't it take a LOT of wax?? Just curious. Anyway, I'm envious of you being in Tahoe. Love that place. Take care, God Bless and have a great New Year!
  4. What a wonderful way to remember her! Beautiful as usual, Donita!
  5. Thanks for your advice. Since it's very cool in that area, maybe I'll move it to the basement for the winter.
  6. I have some star burst and glass glow stored in an enclosed porch off the back of my home, with no heat. I'm guessing it gets around 40 out there. Do you think this will be a problem for this type of wax? I looked on CS's site and don't see anything about recommended temps for storing the wax. Thanks!:undecided
  7. I've been looking for a few pillar molds to add to my small collection. See lots of them; different prices. Some have minimum order, some just don't have a lot to choose from. I even looked through the classified on this site. No luck! So, where is the best place to buy pillar molds?? I live in PA. Thanks! :undecided Sorry, I may have posted in the wrong section! Forgot where I was....go figure!
  8. Those are absolutely beautiful candles...great job!
  9. I can tell you that it is normal for some wax to come out of the holes. I would suspect that you waited a little too long to do the re-pour. I usually wait until the mold is slightly warm, then poke the relief holes and do my re-pour. Any wax that comes out of the holes will melt into the candle when the hot wax is added. Hope this helps! BTW, I never use straight paraffin or any additives!
  10. I don't have any problems with my votive molds, just the darn wicks. I can't seem to find the "perfect" wick for votives. I make do, but any suggestions would be appreciated!! What do you find are the best for making these?
  11. Speaking of candles & supplies, am I missing something, or do they not show how much shipping is until you submit your order? I have wanted to order from them, but I don't seem to see the shipping. Guess I didn't realize they are in PA, which is my neck of the woods! Thanks!
  12. Love the 2nd ones...which $ Store?? So many of them now. Thanks!
  13. Basically, I use two suppliers for my wax. One for soy and another for paraffin. That makes it easier for me. They have all the FO's I need, as well as any other supplies.
  14. Welcome....with all your experience, maybe we can learn something from you!
  15. I use GL's concentrated liquid dyes. The web site recommends a maximum usage per lb of wax - 30-40 drops. Personally, I don't have to use quite that much and have no problems with coloring my wax! Good luck with your candles.
  16. Those are beautiful! Very nice job....one day I'll have to try some of those. What wax did you use?
  17. I have never ordered anything from E-Bay, except directly from a store. Yes, I would appreciate it if you would send the link to the site. Thanks for your help!!
  18. I've been looking online at different suppliers for container warning labels. Where is the best place to get them? I need approximately 1 1/2 to 2". I normally use 4 oz. to 10 oz. jars for my candles. Thanks!
  19. Those are great, Stella. Very nice job. I love the votives!!
  20. Those are darling....actually, I saw them over the weekend at our store. I was in a hurry so I didn't really pay that much attention. Now that I see how cute they look, I may have to make up some of those. I think I would tend to leave them natural, not colored. Although, they would look good either way, I'm sure! Good job!
  21. Actually, I haven't invested in a heat gun yet!! Also, I don't have the CDN wicks. I'll have to check all my other wicks and see what else I can use.
  22. Beautiful....very nice job. Did you get the pillar palm wax from CS??:rolleyes2
  23. I've read previous posts regarding this wax...here's my problem. I used a ECO 14 in my jar. Wax is burning ok, but the wick is huge. I've trimmed it several times, but within a few minutes it's burning hot again. Large flame, etc. Full melt pool looks great, though. Since this wick is designed for natural wax, I guess it's not appropriate for this wax. I goofed!! So, what's the best way to go about remelting so I can try another type of wick? Double boiler, or oven? Thanks, guys!!:tiptoe:
