  1. Cruelty free specifically refers to animal life. Not "drowned banana trees". However, the rest of your passive aggressive post makes sense.
  2. Cocobolo Wood from The Candlemaker's Store. Smells just like a freshly sharpened pencil shavings to me.
  3. In my experience... the two do not walk hand in hand. All-natural is an umbrella term and many things can be classified all-natural that some may not expect to be designated as such. For example, in food, I try to avoid anything that says "all natural flavoring" as the ingredient and not the specific flavoring agent they used. One of the grossest, in my opinion, being Castoreum, aka “natural raspberry flavor” comes from the anal glands of beavers, secreted to mark their territory. Cruelty free is a very specific term which designates wildlife and animal life were not harmed in any way during the sourcing and manufacturing of the item or product.
  4. I wouldn't consider paraffin wax or petroleum animal-based but I also still wouldn't consider it cruelty free. "Most of petroleum is plant material more than animal material. For animals to fall into peat etc which later became crude oil was pretty rare, however, most petroleum products are not vegan-friendly due to other ingredients and frivolous animal testing etc."
  5. I know Nature's Gardens, Elements Bath & Body, Lonestar, BrambleBerry, and SaveOnScents do not test on animals. They all state so on their respective websites.
  6. A stinky diaper. Truly disgusting. I didn't think it would be that true to name. It has 5 stars though. Would be perfect as a gag gift.
  7. I believe Daystar has changed the name of 'Black Tea' to 'Southern Iced Tea' just FYI ;-)
  8. Horticulturalists LOVE this candle. I have many friends that love gardening and they always request this candle from me.
  9. Candybee... I believe the Death & Decay by FB is a Lush dupe. A lot of people say it smells like soap. It's heavy on white floral. No death and no decay at all. Very misleading name. http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Lush/Death-and-Decay-26630.html
  10. Save On Scents and another supplier, I forget which one right now, will look into it, have a line a wacky scents. Some of the ones I have tried are: Dirt/Potting Soil/Gaia - smells just like potting soil - Fragrance Buddy/WSP Zucchini/Zucchini Flower - this one is from Brambleberry and it smells just like Zucchini, it's incredible. Decayed Rainforest - smells like moldy plants. From SaveOnScents. Rubber - Used to get this from Nature's Garden but they discontinued it. Save On Scents has one but it's not good. Gasoline (low octave) - smells just like gas Baby Diaper - don't even want to talk about this one. True to name. from SaveOnScents. Tar - smells just like fresh tar. - SaveOnScents Garlic - true to name - SaveOnScents Permanent Marker - true to name- SaveOnScents Seasoned Chicken - don't know how they did it but it smells like chicken - SaveOnScents Exhaust - true to name again - SaveOnScents
  11. Save On Scents has an 'Indonesian Patchouli' FO that smells just like Patchouli to me and also burns like a charm. I always use it whenever I'm not using Patchouli EO in candles.
  12. I use a soy/coco blend. Their 'French Lime Blossom', 'Baby Grace by Philosophy', 'Amazing Grace by Philosophy', 'Almond Coconut', 'Tea Leaf & Jasmine', 'Fresh's Sugar Blossom' are very strong throwers for me. I guess I've just had good luck with the scents I choose from them. There is one that I purchased that had a mega weak throw, I think it was a dupe of Versace's "Yellow Diamond"... That one had a horribly weak throw for me.
  13. My Picks: Almond Coconut by Wellington for a heavy, rich coconut. Pomelo Coconut by Wellington for a light, slightly floral/citrus.
  14. Wellington Fragrance has it as well and they actually offer 1/2 ounce samples for $1.65.
  15. I have had great success with The Flaming Candle's 'Birthday Cake'.... Burns super strong in my wax.
  16. I normally just use my heat gun and then wipe with a cleaner.
  17. Candybee, If you haven't already, I would recommend sniffing the actual perfume Angel by Thierry Mugler to know what it should really smell like. A lot of the fragrance oils I have come across claiming to be Angel simply aren't. It is my mother-in-law's absolute favorite perfume so I am very aware of this fragrance and would bet my life that Elements' Honey Patchouli is a dupe of it. ;-) Are you specifically referring to Flaming Candle's 'Wild Mountain Honey' not smelling like Honey L'Occitane or Peak's 'Wild Mountain Honey"?
  18. I have both Wild Mountain Honey and Honey L'Occitane and I would say assuredly, Wild Mountain Honey is a dupe of Honey L'Occitane. Just FYI.. At least Flaming Candle's is. Honey Patchouli is Elements' dupe of Angel by Theirry Mugler. If you are familiar with Tyler Candle Company. It's their famous "Diva" scent.
  19. Bramble Berry's Champagne is actually on sale right now if anyone is interested in trying it out.
  20. Wow. WSP! That's not how I would describe the notes in Absinthe at all either. White Jasmine? Get the heck outta here. Haha
  21. Fearless is by Victoria's Secret and is a black currant based scent. Pink Fun may refer to "Oh What Fun is Pink" by Victoria's Secret as well. This scent is amber and floral based. I have not come across dupes of these scents however, there are many wonderful black currant fragrance oils out there that I can recommend if you'd like. Black Currant Rose by Sweet Cakes is probably my favorite.
  22. I believe I only use two fragrances from Indigo consistently. (Sunset and Angel) I think they may have they same supplier or compounder for oils as other companies out there as they added an "Opium" duplication scent to their stock last month and then a week or so later, Aztec introduced an "Opium" fragrance oil as well. So I think it may just be a case of same supplier because Indigo is actually cheaper than NG and it would be very cost ineffective to business to rebottle fragrances at a cheaper price.
  23. I have the ones from Indigo Fragrances and TCS and they both smell like spiced gumdrops too. Although the one from TCS is weaker than the one from Indigo.
  24. I use 'Absinthe Goddess' after the green fairy associated with absinthe.
