  1. Oh that is very sad to hear, I only purchased a couple of cupcake molds, and then purchased many more from Flexible Molds, the molds from Flexible are nice, but the website and photos don't do the products justice. I have purchased most of the Flexiblemolds cupcakes, and I have been happy with them. I don't use them as much as I should, they would be great for candles or melt & pour.
  2. In the process of getting ready for a craft fair I have opened packages of soap in Karma and Goddess, and I am very surprised both are much stronger than when they were packaged; at four weeks cure. I don't know if it was my sense of smell, or if they actually got stronger with time. I know that happens with wax, but haven't had that happen with soap, except the tester of FB Lush SuperNova which took about three or four days for the scent to come out. I didn't want anyone to skip purchasing either because of what I wrote, I think the Karma is plenty strong at 1% per pound, and the Goddess is there at .80% per pound. They are both very nice in soap!
  3. Jack I know this won't help with soy, but for those that make soap, it does stick, and doesn't discolor, and It is a nice fragrance. I would think more like spiced Bergamot, I don't notice the Tobacco so much.
  4. I don't know how I missed the new MW fragrances! Thank you for the heads up, I didn't find Mad about You. I am wondering if anyone has soaped Bella? There are conflicting reviews about it fading in CP. I also am wondering if Enchanted Spice is good in CP I realize that if anyone has tried these they would have used the originals, but that would give me a good enough idea to know if CP was an option. I also noticed that they had True Lavender, and I am looking for a new soap lavender.
  5. At the rate I use I didn't notice any discoloration, but out of 24 ounces of liquid I only stir in about 4 ounces at trace, or right before trace. I just keep the % of dairy products at about 18-20% with most of my soap. That way I can play with colors and swirls, I use more if I am making a soap labeled goat milk or buttermilk soap, but that amount hasn't caused any color problems for me.
  6. The peach doesn't A or D in cold process soap, does the peach hold the scent?
  7. Peach Nectar holds forever in soap, I really wonder about the Peach? Does anyone use it for soap? There is quite a price difference between the two, with the Peach Nectar being quite a bit more expensive.
  8. I usually see it near the yogurt or milk, I don't know the type of markets you have, if not the regular market maybe a health food store. It may be more difficult to find the plain variety. The brand I used is 'Nancy's cultured dairy and soy'. They are in Oregon, and have a website, you can do a search using your zip code. I'm sure that there are other brands available, this is just what I've used.
  9. I will post again when I have received more feedback, I have tried it myself, and it made a very nice soap. I would say it increased the bubbles similar to beer soap. I put goat milk or yogurt in most of my soap, but this was different. I wasn't sure about trying it, but there were some articles and soap blogs that posted positive results. I have tried it in two different recipes, and in one recipe I noticed the hardness more than the other, but they both had nice creamy bubbles.
  10. Candybee, it is just a yogurt type drink, I drink it often, but the plain unsweetened was pretty sour. You can find it at the market, especially if you have a Trader Joes, Sprouts, or Whole Foods. I don't think you need to order the grains to make it, it is just a couple of dollars for a carton, and I freeze it and use a little at a time. It did make it creamy, but it contains a high percentage of sodium lactate, so it also made it hard. I just took it off the curing rack, and haven't had anyone but me test it yet. I was telling one of my friends (testers) about it yesterday, so one bar has a home next week.
  11. I have been wanting to try it, but it was back ordered when I was last buying supplies. I recently made a soap with Kiefer in it, about 4 ounces replacing 24 ounces of liquid measurement. I hadn't thought of this as a replacement for sodium lactate, just had some plain organic Kiefer that was given to me, after tasting it, I figured I'd put it in soap. The soap was very firm early the next morning, and I don't know if the Kiefer is responsible, but the soap is more creamy, and much more bubbly. It turns out that Kiefer is high is sodium lactate.
  12. Keep in mind that there are only a half dozen or so fragrance manufacturers in the US, many of her oils are avilable from other websites. The ones she has had duped may be only on her site though. I try to look at the whole picture when I purchase a fragrance oil, the IFRA certificate is important to me since I do mostly soap, I also look at shipping costs, how the oil is packaged, and who else carries the same FO.
  13. Candybee if you are wanting the Comforter (Lush Dupe) for soap, it will not hold up in Cold Process soap. I don't know about candles though. I just hate it when my scent disappears and wanted to give you a heads up.
  14. Thank you! I have a specific fragrance manufacturer in mind, just have to decide if I can take the project on now. I did check with Fragrance Buddy, and he had never heard of Raspberry Patchouli, and didn't seem at all interested. So I know that I can get it duped, just would have to get hold of an ounce, and figure out if I can handle 10 pounds of the FO.
  15. I miss the Raspberry Patchouli from Moonworks, does anyone know if the Raspberry Patchouli from AHRE, Bittercreek South, or The Candlemakers Store are duplicates of Moonworks. I have even thought about having some duplicated, I think that may be the only way I get something close.
  16. That would be Avobath, I just smelled it at a Lush store a couple of days ago. Fragrance Buddy has it, but I haven't purchased it yet.
  17. Mediterranean Fig is really nice in CP soap, easy to work with and the scent sticks. It is more of a natural fragrance than a perfume. I have been wanting to try the Fig Tree, I have heard that it is nice too. I have only used the English Garden in a mix, I was making soap, and a little worried about acceleration.
  18. I love the name Champagne and Roses! I don't smell the fizzy either, but smell something that I really don't care for in this one, I am debating if I want to add a little Gypsy Rose to mask the berries or whatever it is that I am not loving.I just hate to waste the Gypsy Rose, since it is really nice. I will probably use the rest of the bottle as some type of mixer. I did have one person say just like Camay soap!
  19. I have tried several of the MW dupes at FB and have been very pleased with almost all of them in Cold Process soap, so far they have all stayed in the cured soap. and were easy to work with. Many of the MW won't work for me in Cold Process soap because the amount that is body safe is so low, but there are several that I will reorder. Also a couple of the Lush dupes worked well in my CP.
  20. Those two fragrances drove me crazy! They both smelled great when I soaped them, but after two days they were difficult to detect. It was like the fragrance was playing hide and seek. After three weeks the Karma is much stronger, and the IFRA says that I can go stronger, which is what I will do with the remainder of the bottle. I love the Goddess scent, but I only used the IFRA limit of 5% and I would like it to be stronger. I like both of these as far as the scent goes, but probably won't reorder either one.
  21. I love the Patchouli Passion, and everyone who smells it loves it, even those who don't like patchouli. The scent really holds in CP soap. I also really like the Winter Festival, and the Sultana. I also received an order a few days ago, and soaped the Goddess, and the Karma today. It will take some time to know how they cure, but they both smell amazing now.
  22. Fresh Ginger Lime South Pacific Waters Beach Nag Champa Pink Grapefruit Honeysuckle Hollow Sunflower Honeysuckle Hollow and Sunflower move pretty quick in CP soap, but they are both great scents, the Honeysuckle is very strong.
  23. Sunflower from WSP is very nice and strong, however it moves super fast, you would want to soap like many florals and go full water.
  24. Shar thank you for the reply! I use goat milk in most of my soaps too, I didn't like the Rose Jam either, it has gotten better with age, and a few people liked it yesterday, but I didn't sell any. I used the Sultana for a bridal shower and I have a few requests for more from that shower. I had so many people pick up the Winter Festival and say that they loved it, but I didn't sell any. I had heard that Patchouli was popular now, but was really surprised that it sold even more than lavender. I really wish they would change their rating system on the FB site,
  25. Shar did you ever order the Gypsy Rose? I was just on the FB site and someone left one star, I really don't like the rating feature because anyone can give a rating, there is no way to see if the person even ordered. I want to include this in my next order, but now I'm a little unsure. I just finished a craft fair today, and couldn't believe how much Patchouli Passion soap I sold, everyone loved that one,
