  1. Carrie, 4 inch in diameter apoth, I use 2 44-24's. I pour them and once they harden up a bit , I run the heat gun around them and put them in a box for the rest of the cooling time. In an 8 oz jelly jar I use one 44-24, the smaller the jar the worse the sink holes. So again I use a heat gun. I also use 4786, not a single pour wax, same scenario with the heat gun. I am just cautious that there will be some air pocket around the wick. I have yet to find a one pour wax that is truly a one pour wax. LOL, Candles are a pain in the arse LOL
  2. It depends on the fo, some I use 1 oz per lb. some 1/2 oz. I find that this wax does better with a cooler burning wick, like zincs. And yes you may have candle nose. I have not added vybar to 6006 or any other pre-blended container wax. I use vybar only with straight parafin, when making pillars. Hope that helps.
  3. Oxides I mix with oil, ultramarines water. No you cannot use them in sprays, yes they will stain everything.
  4. Hmmmmm I have always gotten great throw with this wax. What are you using for wicks, where are you getting your fo's? What size jar are you using?
  5. :yay: Yes she lived to tell the story with humor. I love it. You go woman. E loved yours too, can always count on E to give encouragement when needed. Keep on soaping and laughing. Embrace the ewwwwwwww.

  9. Nice firsts Kelly let us know how they burn.
  10. The cleansing # is a little high for me, buttt I like a creamier lather. All and all it looks really nice. I would definitely give it a try. Looks like an expensive recipe, but hey. I make some expensive bars of soap sometimes. If it is soft after 24 hours in the mold just let it stay there a couple of days. You have some nice oils in there. Yep I would give it a shot. I also use sunflower and canola, I actually love canola and have never encountered dos.
  11. Today I made Lavender Cuke Sage Soap A batch of Ocean Soap Cleaned the house and did laundry LOL. Hope you all having a good weekend. And for those of you doing shows, how did they go?
  12. perfumy scents will give me a headache also. I have always been sensitive to perfumes. It happens to a lot of people I know.
  13. no shea butter, mango, avacado is a good one. Castor is great with some olive oil.
  14. I agree with top and also what are the top numbers, just for the fun of it. It might be helpful for those new to making soap to get a glimpse of both. Yes and it does look a bit soft. 2 for Steric seems pretty low to me.
  15. Very nice. Don't worry about the ash. Once they cure up a bit, if you still don't like the look, you can spray them with alcohol and wipe them off, or try giving them a quick rinse and let them dry.
  16. http://watersgulch.com/howtocp.shtml this is a great tutorial. I had it memorized before I made my first batch. I think many on this board used this tutorial as a guide. Also pm me if you have any questions , I'd be glad to help.
