  1. Cut it Pllllleasseeeee. Wonderful can't wait to see it cut.
  2. Good for you and agree with Scented, always check out the competition.
  3. This is exactly why I am paticular about who I do biz with. Peak's a number 1. Candlescience, great CS. Whatever with BC etc.....too big for their britches I guesss LOL
  4. For 20 cents, sounds a little ridiculous to me. My Opinion Only is WSP so sure they are making the right decision here. I would honestly like to hear from Debbie May on this one. My customers all get freebies, as well they should, and it cost a lot more than 20 cents. Bad Business.
  5. Ahhhh Sabrina, that is wonderful news. You deserve it, you have put in the hard work and you stulf is beautiful. Congrats darlink, and here;'s to many more. C
  6. Well there woman fabulous. As usual
  7. Need a tester, I think they look great.
  8. Insurance is key, if you are going to sell candles. It is getting tough. The economy is not great and the prices of supplies and shipping are being driven by oil prices. If you can pic up supplies etc... you can save a lot of money. I personally am no longer going to be selling candles to retail stores after this year. Also I have lost the love for candle making that I once had. Hoping that bringing it back to a hobby will make it more enjoyable for me. Good luck in whatever you decide.
  9. I use 3 lbs of oils for the larger size bar slab molds and 6 lbs of oils for the 24 bar larger size slab molds. Some oils I discount water some I don't. My bars are usually 4.8 to 5 ozs cured.
  10. Candlescience is a fabulous company. Great customer service, but best of all you pay real shipping.
  11. What color would you suggest for...... Candle Science 'Apples and Maple Bourbon' yes i agree reddish brown 'Love Spell' or 'Lovespell' (however they spell it) from anybody I do mine pink that's what my customers like Bramble Berry 'Cedar and Saffron' this sounds yummy is it. This one I would do yellowish 'Witches Brew' from anybody (I'd like coal black but from what I understand that's difficult to achieve) Dark Purple is what I do 'Mediterranean Fig' or any fig; the figs I've always seen were brown but that doesn't seem very attractive except in a coffee or chocolate candle. Dark Red or light green How do I mix an aqua color? Blue and yellow and green? you might be able to get aqua just by using a very small amount of blue alone How about the salmony, pinky color on the inside of a seashell? hmmm tough one maybe pink with a tiny bit of tan or I even hate to say it brown.
  12. Excellent question. Definitely less fo's. Buying only fo's with a few exceptions that are both soap and candle compatible. Sticking with one supplier for the basics, fo's, wicks etc. making larger orders. Making a schedule for pouring certain candles, ie a day for jars, a day for votives etc......
  13. If you are making it for yourself, you could either infuse the oil with mint. Or just get some kind of mint eo to use. I think it would be nice for personal use, just to make it fresh everytime you want to do one with no preservative in it at all.
  14. looks really yummy, hmmmmmm I think we have all forgotten the fo at least once.
  15. Very Nice Val. You rock with the jewels.
  16. I have been job hunting and put my biz on my resume as it has been my main income for 3 years now. What they will probably ask is for verification of you buiness. I just made copies of my business liscense for them for the past 3 years. I dont' think having my own business hurt me in anyway at all, but it was my prior work history that fit in with the job I was seeking. HTH and good luck.
  17. Sending selling vibes you way. Good Luck your gift bags sound nice.
  18. Hey I have been waiting a month for 2 liners from Upland, which by the way she said she sent, don't think so. Can't wait til Peak's starts making soap molds. LOL At least you will get an honest answer as to when your product will arrive.
  19. There are a ton of companies out there that offer bath and body recipes and ideas. Also at the top of the b and b section , check out the infor and tutorials. Also go to the Fragrance section, there is a list of suppiers there you can just click on and poke around on, you might find calulators and that kind of stuff. Snowdrift Farms is a good starting site. Hope this is helpful, learning to do percentages is a very good way to approach it at this point. Also look in the co-op section once you get situated for co-ops on oils and butters, some of them are awesome for buying a bunch of different oils in smaller amounts.
  20. Oh please, get over yourself. Stop bashing, attitude is everything. You have very professional web site, but obviously have not done the research. Don't drag someone else who poses a question into the web that you have woven for yourself since you joined the board. Move on to a new soapbox please. I've been around here for a long time, I have taken my punches and made wonderful friends.
