    olive oil here. I like the way it feels in my soap. I can also get it in large quantities locally for a good price.

    If you buy ready-made candles from the store and dip them in scented wax they would not be very strong at all. In fact you probably wouldnt even notice the scent unless you had your nose against it. You can make your own candles with fragrance oils (like most of us do here) and you can buy almost any scent imaginable (even cinnamon and butterscotch) from various suppliers. hth

    You dont need to worry about stocking up in Canada, it's just the red devil brand of lye that wont be sold anymore, and we dont have that brand up here anyways!

    I like your setup, your candles look great! I wonder if you had your soaps set up differently if maybe you would've sold more? You could always try it for next time!

    I agree that it could be lye heavy. The average superfat used is 5%. I also like to have my numbers close to 50/50 hard oils to soft oils. A 33% water discount is 2:1 water:lye, which for you would've been 27oz of water. hth

    what kind of soap does she want to make? there's a ton of m&p kits out there, but fewer cp ones

    I use a plastic rubbermaid container to mix my soap in!

    Just look for information on wholesale. It's very similar. Find out if she has the labels already, or wants you to make them for her (if you're making them, charge a little more to cover that cost)

    You dont have to have stock made up to have a website, you can do made to order. As for how many online orders I get a month, it's all over the place. But often people will see my site and then call. Dont expect to get a ton of orders as soon as you open up! hth

    you can make an emulsifying scrub that is moisturizing, yet when it rinses off it leaves your skin feeling like you have lotion on, not oily at all!
