  1. I haven't made candles in several months, but I am thinking of whipping up a batch of Pink Sugar soon since I have lots of customers requesting that I do so. My question is this: I made a pink sugar sachet about a month ago, and it didn't hold scent long at all. The beads turned a brownish/pinkish color. Could this be from the fragrance being to old? The oil is from Peaks and I normally have wonderful results. I believe the oil is probably about 9 months old. Do you think I need new oil before I attempt the candles? Thanks in advance
  2. I totally understand what you are going through. I struggled with this myself a few months ago. Do I quit, do I keep plugging away? My problem was also time. Candle making is NOT my full time job, just something I do on the side. I did make a TINY profit last year, but nothing to write home about. When I started talking about quitting, all of my customers freaked. I felt obligated to them and felt that I would be soo letting them down. So, I too prayed about it, and came up with a compromise. I decided to downsize greatly (going from offering 5 different candle sizes to just one). So, currently I am clearancing all of my current stock, and once all of my tins and jars are gone, they are gone for good. Only going to offer one size after that. This will so help me have more time with my daughter, and household duties. It will be so much easier to keep up with just one size. So, thats my two cents. Try compromising first, then if that doesn't work and you still aren't happy, then sell. Best of Luck to you!!
  3. I use Peaks Ginger Peach and I think it smells pretty good. Not sure that its a "true" peach, but you can definitely smell the peaches. I have gotten alot of good comments on it.
  4. It's funny you bring this up because I was going to order from them this morning as well, then saw the freaking price! I ended up getting it from WSP because even with shipping, it's cheaper. I checked other sites as well thinking I would find cheaper shipping, but the cheapest I found was only $2 cheaper than WSP, so I just ordered from them. Man I hope they all don't go up that high or I'm screwed.
  5. I'll give it a try: London Lemon Curd: Lemon Drops Brown Sugar and Fig: Figgy Pudding Black Rasperry Vanilla: Black Berries and Creme Drakkar: Captivating
  6. I got a sample of this yesterday, and to me it smells exactly like Cappucino Hazelnut. What does everyone else think? Maybe they just but the wrong fragrance in my bottle...
  7. I just put the tarts in there unwrapped, then bagged them as they were purchased. It did take some time, but it wasn't too bad I didn't think. The jars didn't get too messed up either. I like them because I store them in the jars at home as well.
  8. http://www.candletech.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2543&d=1130942457 I hope this works...this is what I used for the craft show I did back in September. They are containers from the Dollar Store, $2 a piece. They work great!!
  9. Do they want these scented? For color, I would suggest orange, yellow, green, etc... Maybe make the labels Hawaiian themed as well. How many containers are we talking here?
  10. Lavender (headache from he!!) Spring Rain (like the smell, but gives me a headache) Vanilla Sandalwood
  11. No one? Cmon guys, I know some of you have experimented with this one!!!!:rolleyes2
  12. I just tested this one at 1oz per lb of J223. 8oz jj/44-24-18z wick. The melt pool was acceptable, no sooting and such. Wonderful cold throw, non existent hot throw. Any ideas? I have read alot of good review about this fo, and I was so hoping it would work. Michelle
  13. I use J223 and get a wonderful throw with this one! I can smell more cider than cinnamon. I too sold lots of this over the holidays. Sorry you have had bad luck with it because I lOve it!!
