  1. It is a neat looking candle. What is the diameter? Just can't imagine how it would burn.
  2. Checked it out two scents come up. One designer one regular. Glitch somewhere.
  3. I also use this same wax combination. If you have LX wicks on hand you might also give them a try. Candlelady knows her stuff. Maybe it is because I am in a northern state, different climate, but LX's seem to work better for me. Although right now I am testing the CD's again. For me there is not a big difference in the burn of these different types of wick in this wax, however, for some FO's I prefer the LX over the CD. If you have some on hand start with a 16 or 18. HTH. Seven years ago I knew exactly how you feel right now. Will I ever get the right combo? Now, when I get a new FO in I can pretty much know from the consistency of the FO of which wick to try first. But even then there are a few that will still frustrate me to pieces. Especially the heavy bakery scents. I love CS's pumpkin soufle but I never could get it to wick for me with a complete top to bottom burn. Used 4 types of wick, 2-3 sizes each, different FO load to no avail. It would burn great the first 1/2 to 2/3 of jar and them fizzle out. Even tried two types of jar. I was determined but no luck. You will get it and then the FO addiction begins. My wax of choice used to be J223. For cost reasons I switched to the 6006 and I do use the Comfort Blend but that is a super b---h to wick. But for certain scents I go back to it, which is why I keep it on hand.
  4. This is the same for me. I haven't done shows or sold to the public for a couple of years. My friends come over occasionally and go through any thing that I have made lately and pick out from there. They give me enough to cover cost. I have the most enjoyment out of making a beautiful product and giving it away than the pressure of trying to market and sell. As far as family and my closest friends, they can't wait for Christmas or their birthday-they always appreciate what they receive. Also my friends and family are my biggest critics. They are the most honest if I get a new scent in that they hate. Usually I do, too. Life is fun now, I do it when I want - not when I have to.
  5. I just made MP Shea base soap this past weekend. I have a friend that has a daughter that lives in a commune. They raise goats and milk them. I put some in the soap. Question is - this is unpasturized milk. Thick and creamy. Is the soap okay? It did make a wonderflul, creamy bar of soap. Used approximately 4 T. per pound.
  6. Just looked at the site. Those pastel colored ones on the side of the page are just too cute.
  7. I made this recipe this weekend. I lowered the beeswax to 1.5 z and subbed soybean oil for the OO. Scented with Vanilla Sandalwood. It turned out wonderful. Kudos to the Queen. I also whipped this with a whisk but didn't take much to incorporate everything together. Judy
  8. I agree. It is something with the loopy k then the loopy l.
  9. Don't ya just love that scent. I use the goats milk Blue Ridge Wildflower lotion also. It is light. I don't like a heavy lotion and it just leaves behind this clean scent. It is not overly flowery. To me it is more of a fresh smell. The grandkids love this. I have to watch them or they will go through a whole bottle in an evening. "Smell my hands, Gramma' Wish I could find a dupe.
  10. I have searched FOF with no luck. It is made by Dionis. Cracker Barrels carry this brand. Maybe someone that has used this knows of an FO that is similar. My granddaughters love to come to Grammy's and wash their hands with this liquid soap. I would like to try and make my own. TIA Judy
  11. Very pretty and just makes you think spring.
  12. Ditto here. Some names from the supplier just don't fit the fragrance or the market in your area.
  13. Yes, it is very pretty. I was thinking that the heart cutout post around Valentines Day. That this would work. I have tried and tried with using parafin for cutouts and they don't stick to the glass well and when I fill the container, wax gets between cutout and glass. Thanks for the inspirations you have triggered. Red & Blue stars would be neat for 4th of July.
  14. Just be careful ordering from this company. About three maybe four years ago I ordered FO from them and it took nearly 4 months to receive. Kept getting song and dance via email. Finally did receive but with no apologies. Hopefully, their customer service has improved.
  15. Also, thanks for posting. Very nice. I have about 10 lbs. of this stuff sitting around. After all of the flack on gel a couple of years ago, I never used much of it. Vicki's tutorial has gotten my creative juices flowing again on how I can use it up. I was getting ready to post to sell. But I will keep it around for a while. Thanks again
  16. Very nice for your first time. Smooth the bottoms out. The purple one looks a little lop-sided and let us know how the test burn goes. I would like to know how the 4" burns with just the one wick. I have never done grubbies and yours are pretty.
  17. I am not familiar with this wax or the wick But, could you possibly have some tunneling going on by the wick. I have had issues in the past, depending on the temp of the environment in which I am pouring, that I will have a smooth top, but if I poke there will be a cavern by the wick. Even after the candle has totally cooled, the top is mooth but if I poked, about half way down jar there was an air gap between wick and wax. Once the candle burns and hits the air gap the wick moves. Just a thought.
  18. I use CS's. I do smell the spice. It has a clovey fruity scent to me. It does work also.
  19. This was going to be my answer. It is in the old board archives. There is also alot of good information in there.
  20. Yep, it certainly can be done. I taught myself when I was a teenager. My mom knew how, but even then you still have to get the feel of it your self. Start with a basic pattern. Lots of them out there. I just recently started back into it. I hadn't bought a pattern in ten years. Holy crap they are expensive. Also I agree with another poster about cost of fabric and supplies, they are not inexpensive. So - if you are going to think you are going to save money on sewing your own clothes, it probably won't happen. I just made my six grandchilren blanket sleepers for Christmas. I did have enough fabric left over to dress each of them a teddy bear to match their sleeper. But I still could have bought them cheaper. I did get some good closeout fabric at Walmart to make the girls sundresses for next summer. But all in all, it is kind of expensive. I do save by making my own curtains and placemats and stuff like that, that I want to coordinate for house decor. HTH Judy
  21. Mother Nature Calling Midol -Mydol to move from TM Red River Wave - Gross!
  22. Yep, dip them with wax cool. I add fragrance - usually something piney or cinnamony- then sprinkle with cosmetic grade opal glitter for sparkle.
  23. Very inspiring. Wonderful presentation and photography.
  24. Ditto here. They burn similar to a container as long as they are in a tight fitting votive cup. Mine do not all turn to liquid.
  25. I ordered this and made some melts. More chocolete chip and not enough cookie. What could I add to this to bring out more cookie. I am not one to buy every suppliers fo to find the best. Then the old just sits on the shelf. I already have a lot of those. Maybe add a little sugar cookie to it? TIA.
