I'm the one who's 36, my wife is 28, been happily married for 8 years. we have 3 cats and 1 dog. Working on less furry kids. My wife (shantille) got into the candle making thing to come with me to shows. I (shane) restore and show antique farm equipment and now she can set up with me and sell her candles.

  1. Well at the Antique show that we went to where I showed my antiques and my wife sold our candles, we had this little guy running around. This was just to cute for words, so I got this short vid. This is taken right by our candle display. The crawler is made from the workings of a Trax Snowblower.
  2. Well a short while ago I posted that I got a deal of a lifetime on Ebay being--- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260440416943 and http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260440403866 $10.00 each. I went and picked up all of the items, and it turned out better. The Very nice woman that had the items found many more items while she was getting the things together. So I got over 600 containers (est.) for $20.00 plus my gas to get them. My Truck was packed (good thing I put the cap on my truck before the trip) So that was the first great part of the trip for us. The second was my wife set up our candles at a show I attend every year, and after all the book work, we made $300.00 PROFIT on the weekend. A Very good trip to PA. Next for us is a couple of shows close to home.
  3. Hey all, I've just been lurking in the shadows for the past couple of months. But I just had to chime in on a deal I came across on Ebay. check these two Items I purchased for $9.99 each:yay: *super banana* :whoohoo: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260440416943 and http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260440403866 I think nobody bid on them because they were pick up only, the woman would not ship them. Well My home town is 40 minutes from this woman, and I'm going to that area this weekend for a Antique and Craft show 7/17 - 7/26 so I can pick them up.
  4. We got these at the dollar store http://www.craftserver.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=17507&d=1243563337
  5. When we level our candles, we hold the candle by the wick and slowly twist the candle on a hot pan to melt the bottom. We dont let the candle rest on the pan or your uneven bottom will continue. You watch as you slowly lower the candle until the whole candle touches at once.
  6. Nice looking candles, try a lighter background for your pictures. I couldnt get a dark background to come out to well
  7. We have a 10X20 6 leg Canopy that we use. It's heavy duty and really takes a beating. We've got the side flaps for it so they provide some extra protection from weather, and securtiy, or put the poles on them and put them up and we now have a 20x20 It's been used for 4 years now. I use it for all my Antique shows, we use it for all the candle shows, and also for Family get togethers here at the house. MY wife bought it for me for our wedding anniversary from TSC. Goes up easy. I usually put it up myself. http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_34076_-1______?rFlag=true&cFlag=1 Link to the page it sells at.
  8. I am useing Free Samples that I requested from them. My printer is a Lexmark 2500. After they dried for a while they didnt' smear. I dont know how they'll hold up to moisture though.
  9. I've got a question for the masses. We just ordered a bunch of sample lables from www.onlinelables.com. They are various shapes, but the lables themselves are White, Clear Matte, and Clear Gloss. All for Inkjet printer. My Question, Is there any way to stop the ink from smearing on the CLEAR lables. The ink is fine on the white.
  10. This is going to sound really strange, but it does work. Take a large potato and cut it in half. place the potato on the burned area, and not only will it draw out any toxins that are causing the burn, but it will also help int the healing. You can also try pouring some milk over the area, sometimes that works too.
  11. I use Photo Explosion. I love it, there's so much you can do with it.
  12. We've gotten free scent samples from Peak, Lonestar, Bittercreek, and on other that my brain cant remember. We got 8oz wax samples from Lonestar and bittercreek.
  13. We wont do business with them. Some of thier order requirements are rediculous, and when my wife contacted them about if they offered any free samples of wax, FO's, the response she got was insulting.
  14. Sounds a bit sexist. What about us guy candle makers.
