  1. Mega necro-bump. Yes, I am aware this thread is almost 6 years old. I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to the eBay seller wholesale_essential_oil. Their eBay account is gone, and their e-mail addresses come back as user does not exist. The reason I ask is I am really big into amber resin and my all time favorite was the one this seller sold. I'm guessing they are gone forever but I bumped this thread on the off chance that they may be somewhere else on the net now doing business as a different name or something, and someone here knows about it, and I don't.
  2. I know I am going to get people angry with me, but I can't help but state how frustrating it is to try to find some of these suppliers when you guys post such little information and use abbreviations. Yes, I looked at the sticky thread. I see nothing on there for "Starville Soaps," and Google turns up virtually nothing: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&num=100&newwindow=1&q=%22starville+soaps%22&btnG=Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi= Waxwench, "Tri-States CB" is also not in the sticky, and a Google search is fruitless: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&num=100&newwindow=1&q=%2B%22tri-states%22+cb+fragrance&aq=f&oq=&aqi= Could you guys please start posting links, or, if you are going to use abbreviations and no links, could you at least check to see that it's listed in the sticky? Otherwise, people can't find what you're talking about, and it leads to frustration instead of help. No disrespect intended!
  3. At least in terms of personal preference, I'm with IsabellaD. I like exotic scents, I hate candy and food type scents. I think what she means is you usually see fruity and food scents at discount stores, but you rarely see this from the so-called "higher end" candles, which is what she's aiming for. I will admit I have had $50 candles have all kinds of burning issues and such, but Votivo and Archipelago usually are quality products, if not overpriced. I very much like Black Ginger, Teak, Tuberosa, and Bergamot & Tobacco. I think you can find most of what you are looking for from most of the fragrance vendors linked in the stickies. Try saveonscents.com, and make sure you order the "extreme" concentrations. It doesn't say so on the site, but customer service has informed me that "extreme" uses better quality ingredients.
  4. So changing names is pretty common. BUT, let me ask this... Would you sell ONE candle under TWO different names at the SAME time? Or would that be taking it too far?
  5. I have a BOA card with a 6% APR on it. Just got the letter. Knew it couldn't last forever!
  6. I recently picked up a scented candle from Victoria's Secret... "Honeysuckle & White Patchouli." When I went to use the product I found that this is the exact same fragrance that Bath & Body Works sells as "Sensual Amber." I discovered that Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Henri Bendel, and White Barn Candle are all part of the same company, Limited Brands. I was wondering what the perspective is here on this... buying say a Bayberry fragrance oil from a supplier, then selling it out of the Christmas season under a different name, such as "French Herbs." Do you think this is dishonest, or a savvy business practice?
  7. A lot of their fragrances have either a single asterisk (*) or a double asterisk (**), but nowhere on their site do they say what that's supposed to mean!
  8. Hmmm, I wonder why there would be a "war," is money that important that people are going to go so far as to financially hurt others in an unfair manner? I guess I should know that answer to that. :lipsrseal Anyway, I will definitely try them out!
  9. I was going to start a thread about Just Scent (http://www.justscent.com/) as they looked like they had a lot of great stuff. However, I was turned off after looking here: http://www.scentforum.com/supplier-reviews.php http://www.scentforum.com/view-supplier-reviews/76/just-scent.php They have the most reviews out of anyone on that site. Every month they get 1-3 reviews posted, all 5 stars. The comments all sound like they were written by the same people. It is VERY suspicious to me. Sprinkled throughout all that are a number of reviews (about the same number most of the other sites on that list have in total) of negative reviews saying the oils are very weak and don't throw. I hope my suspicions are unfounded, because a vendor making fake reviews for themselves is criminal as far as I'm concerned.
  10. You guys are talking about http://www.starrville.com right?
  11. By the way, not that it means much I'm sure now, but THANK YOU Blossom for providing that nice list. There are a lot of vendors and there are some you mentioned that I haven't tried yet.
  12. Yes I do. If I start a new job and see something that could be done better I do point it out. That is what they are paying me for.
  13. OK, well I can see I have upset people here and I am sorry for that. I am truly not a mean person, I guess if I see something that to me seems a fault it's hard for me not to point it out. But it seems that the issue is a moot point now as anything I say from this point forward will likely be met with disdain simply because it's me posting. It is my own fault for outcasting myself, as I have found myself growing more and more cynical as I grow older. I hope at least a few of you will look past my shortcomings and try to see my point about widening your audience by limiting the use of abbreviations.
  14. Isn't the below nicer? :smiley2: Note that some of those are my best guess as to what Blossom meant, they may be wrong. That's another problem with abbreviations... being so short, some sound alike, and other people use different abbreviations to refer to the same thing. Please understand I don't have any ill will, I'm just trying to show how you can make your posts better and more informative!!
