  1. I am getting ready to sell the square votives and I am wondering how well they sell and what is the going rate. They weigh just a little over 2 oz. but I never see them anywhere. I think they look so cool and think they will sell well but why doesn't anyone sell them?
  2. I would think you could buy a 1 gal. gasoline container from the auto parts store and use that. I would use it because it has a pour spout and they are cheap and have a closure and a tiny air hole. I don't know just an idea.
  3. Gosh I have been dressing up my candles when I should have been dressing sexy to get more sales. I better run down and buy a nice leather outfit with a tight fitting sheer blouse so tight my buttons will almost pop and a pr. of stolletos.
  4. They all look great! I would stop and buy some or all of 'em!
  5. I will do it. If it is close to the minimum and I am not busy. It us usually a case by case thing. You have to remember in business nothing is set in stone. And these companies are my biggest returning customers.
  6. They have the pumpkin ones at my Wallyworld but they cost $4.99 ea. Ouch and they look like they would take alot of wax. Too much for me.
  7. The biggest thing to ask is how are they going to advertise? What kind of directional signs are they going to have. Do they have flyers for you to hand out? If you need electricity ask if they are going to have that available. I also ask how many other candle people are signed up. Last year I was in a small town doing a craft show and there were six other candle co. there. and only 20 vendors. I only did well because I was next to Santa who was having his pic. taken with kids.
  8. I just checked out their website. They are adding 3000 new products so check back Tuesday.. WoW!!!!
  9. I purchased all I could to help this lady out. She had two storage units full of stuff and her tiny apartment was full too. I am going to talk to her about posting her stuff in the classified section. She has over 900 cases of apothecary jars and over 100 various molds including, metal, plastic and silicone. Tons of scents and wicks on the roll. I will have to get a hold of her, because she has to get rid of them and I know we can all help her clear out her storage units.
  10. :rolleyes2 sale today and I finally met some of my competition. Everyone arrived at the sale early and I got there on time. I just went in there and grabbed a box and filled it up with goodies. I didn't really say a word, just went about my business because hubby was waiting in the pu and told me to hurry. So I tried, but you know when their is a sale, especially candle molds and all that stuff how could I resist but go through everything. The women noticed I really didn't speak to anyone so they asked me what is my companies name and when I told them what it was they said Oh, I have heard of you....Is your website up? I told them yes and kept my words to a minimum. I was a bit surprising that people have heard of me. That makes me wonder why are people yaking about me????? I hope it is all good. :neener: Not sure what to think.
  11. Is there a website out there that has companies fragrances listed on how well they smell along with the prices that isn't biased one way or another? I think that would be so awesome!!
  12. I think it would be best if you decided how you want to sell your stuff. If you are going to make candles do you want to sell them wholesale or sell them at markets, craft shows or consignment. But most of all get insurance, your tax ID #, business license, a good accountant and a good support system. Good Luck!!!
  13. I sell mine for 75 cents ea. I only sell 5-6 inch sized ones. No one wants to spend that much on tiny ones. I just put them in an old apple basket lined with fabric and a sign that says 75 cents ea. I also include an instruction sheet so people know how to start a fire in their fireplace.
  14. I sell tons of these all winter and all you have to do is just go up on the woods or pick them up around colleges or parkss. Don't pick them off the trees that's where you get the sap from. I put them in a cardboard box and place them in the garage. Then dip them in the wax when you're ready. If someone wants a pic. of mine. Just PM me. I am getting ready to post them on my website but I have to transfer everything over to my hosts new website so I have to do that first.
  15. There is a store that is named Cupcake something. I just happened to drive past going to a meeting and just saw a banner with a lot of words on it, but the word Cupcake caught my eye. I am wondering if that is related. I am going to have to take a drive and read the signs that are posted. The sign has been there quite a few months. I thought it was just a real cupcake or confectionery place. I am curious now!!! Hmmmmmm!!!!
  16. If you have experience in speaking and have a good voice I would do it. Nothing is worse than someone speaking in front of an audience with a monotone voice or doesn't make it fun....
  17. Oh!!! My melter will by workin' overtime this weekend. I will be mixin' up autumn/fall colors in the browns, orange, yellow and red colors. Scents will be gingerbread house, crisp apple butter, harvest punkin', & wagon hayride. Just to start with. I have two shows at the same time Oct. 7th so I have to make enough for both of 'em and 2 stores. I also have 1 new gift shop that will be opening Oct. 5th and wants me to fill a section of their store. :undecided I need more hands and space..........
  18. OK! OK! I can't resist the competition. Here's mine! I like it! I hope you do too! Outrageously Fragrant Creative Inspirations
  19. That;s great!!! but what type of items are you getting?????
  20. My question would be as to how long has this company been making candles? Not selling the candlemaking stuff just making them and what type of testing did they do. It seems like they only use one size wick. Hmmm! That leaves a big question mark? Different sizes of containers need different sizes of wicks. Also what type of seminars do they have? Do they offer classes on candlemaking or is this just a big 2 hr. sales pitch on how much money could be made once you buy their products and start selling them.
  21. I was on the coast this passed weekend and saw something similar, but the ones I saw looked more like bark on a tree. Very rustic. I am currently trying to duplicate them.... but those look very unique and cool too!
  22. Very cute stuff! Her prices are even very reasonable even the shipping. I will have to try them...
  23. Yup that is where I used to get my matchbooks as well, but after waiting for her site to come back up, which it never did. I needed matchbooks so now I do my own labeling and thank you gift bags. It is so much easier than I thought....I even do private labels for my wholesale accounts.
