  1. I totally believe in good morals and integrity in business too. (I've just been too busy to answer!)
  2. I do pretty good and I pay 5 others to work for me, but if I were to get rid of my store, I would be alot better off. (maybe even see a profit for my 4th year...) Stay in your house for as long as you can - if you have to, hold on to the door jambs until they pry you out. Stores aren't as fun as they seem.
  3. This woman should NOT have a business & I would advise everyone to pass it along NOT to order from her. It is women like this that give the term "home business" a bad name.
  4. Every EO candle I have ever tried or burned has had a fuel smell - even the ones that were burning at the spa I went to one time stunk like burning fuel. But they still sell for some reason...
  5. Here are some for 60¢ each: http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/category/containers___bottles.seamless_tins/ That is pretty cheap - HTH
  6. www.carolscookies.com We send out tins every year to our top 20 wholesale accounts. They are sooooo good, you can't believe how big they are
  7. The egg cartons fit the meatballer sized bathbombs perfectly.
  8. www.eggcarton.com Our retail bathbomb sales tripled when I introduced the egg cartons.
  9. Expensive. More expensive when they break down. That is all
  10. Thumbs up here too & I've only ordered once - more ordering to come for sure!
  11. I have heard nothing but good stuff from Donna at Dovestudios. I will make a suggestion though - just take alot of pictures, color swatches, things that you see that you think would be cool to work in your business and give them to her. That way she has something to start with. When I did my logo and my look, I had it professionally done. I gave them 6 swatches of color, a piece of tissue paper and about 50 websites that I liked and they whipped up what I have today (well after tweeking it several times, I am the one who really did it lol - but they helped!)
  12. Before she knew they were close, she followed all the posted speed limits faithfully... After she found out they were close, she sped away to get there as fast as she could!! LOL I am also a WSP shopper - for 4 years I have been taking the shipping up the tookus... What I don't get is why suppliers can't use your damn UPS account number to ship your stuff. Some of the suppliers I use now are doing that, but I wish they all would. Don't they know that they can save you $$$? Dammit.
  13. Ditto - I can't take my eyes off the dirty tag and the homespun is too long.
  14. So there is candle wax on the outside of the jar? When you burn them on the inside won't the candle wax on the outside melt off and drip onto the surface you are setting the candles on?
  15. Don't buy things from ebay if you want to be serious about your supplies. Stick to the suppliers listed on this board or do a search here for 100% soy wax. www.naturesgardencandles.com has a great 100% soy & I know of a couple more suppliers that are mentioned here on a daily basis that have great soy as well. Check out the search feature - it is definitely one of the easiest search features I have used
  16. Oh, totally! I think being overcharged 3 times the amount I would normally pay for supplies is a total party too!!
  17. Welcome back Have you tried etsy.com? I know their site is actually very affordable and starting to really grow. It's just like ebay, but every product on there is actually hand made - this may be something you can look into? Good luck with whatever you do - I know it really helps sometimes to just take a day and clean, clean, clean! I do that too - it cleans my area (and my head!)
  18. These threads are killing me - no offense to you personally Heather, but we have had probably 5 threads this last week on this very subject. On top of each page, there is a search feature that you can type in different words and get tons and tons of posts based on this very subject. Here is a thread that is just from the other day: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33651 It has alot of helpful information in it about webhosting and when searching for the very same subject there are tons and tons of posts - but I only listed the first few that came up. Lots of reading - HTH (Also, when looking on this particular kind of thread, there are Google adwords that come up for different webhosts as well)
  19. Yes it was me that had that for sale and I got it from the same lady you guys are talking about on Soap Dish. She is great to work with and the cocoa butter is truly yummah! I just wish I would have been able to use it - but you know how it goes... You buy something because it is at a good price, then you don't know how to use it lol
  20. I also found this link that has alot of suppliers listed: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21402&highlight=buy+shea
  21. If you're willing to make an "investment" instead of just purchasing a pound here and there of a particular (or many different) fragrance oils, you can get them for alot cheaper too.
  22. Not alot of people know this, but if you ship any glass items they (UPS, Fedex, etc) almost always charge you extra and the shipper will tend to ship that package by itself (in case there is breakage so they can get a claim going). From the looks of your order, I would say that you probably have two packages coming, so in reality your shipping would be about 12.00 per box & that sounds right going north to south (or south to north or whatever lol).
  23. Save your hand from writing and buy yourself a nice cash register that has PLU keys on it. You can program it right down to the exact product, size and scent you are selling and the X & Z tape can tell you all you need to know. I threw my book out the first year (never go back!)
  24. Thanks for listing that site - I didn't know they made these: http://www.kraftwarehouse.com/store/WsDefault.asp?One=19 Are these exclusive to them - I've never seen them before! I want 'em!
