  1. Does anyone know the difference between these scents? I got the Oceans the other day, but I am finding out that it doesn't really have a strong scent behind it & if the Ocean Mist is stronger and a little better, I think I want to try it instead. I hope someone has tried both & can give me a little advice on which to choose. TIA!
  2. What kind of coloring are you using? How bout your FO/EO?
  3. This site really helped me when I first started with my bathbombs: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/opa-col2.html
  4. I have a wholesale packet that I send all my potential and current wholesalers. I would be happy to share with you as another small business person shared to help me along
  5. I have only used their regular concentrates as I thought they were pretty strong. Sorry I can't help you more!
  6. I like the way a gelled CP soap looks and feels, so I've always CPOP'd my batches. That way I always know I get gel, plus I don't have to use a bunch of blankets to insulate either - the oven does it for me.
  7. I do CPOP & would be happy to help you! Preheat your oven to 170 degrees (lowest setting) Just make the soap like you normally do and pour into mold. Pop it into the oven for an hour - some people say two, but its up to you (then turn off oven) - and leave in oven overnite. Unmold and cut the next day (I like to keep it in the oven for at least 24 hours) I normally do a water discount so it is ready faster.
  8. Yes that is the company that makes it in stick form. You can find it with the African American hair products.
  9. I have tried and had much success with these scents in bathbombs: Ice Cap - I think its called the Vicks FO or something like that Breathless - Really nice dupe of the VS scent Maybe Baby Tuberrose Awupuhi Seaberry Very nice fragrances, very strong, but not my first choice to shop as they are very expensive, but when you need em you need em.
  10. Not a patchouli lover here either, but I've found no matter what company you use you will get a strong stinky patchouli. I too think it smells like dirt and BO :tiptoe:
  11. I was cleaning out my fragrance oil cabinet the other day and came upon Apple Jack form Bittercreek. It seemed to have all those scents in there and smelled pretty nice. I think I got it for my dad because he went through that phase last year wanting me to pour all these candles with apple jack. I am trying to get all my FO's together for the classifieds, but if you want it, let me know.
  12. I have had good luck with the Very Vanilla from www.saveonscents.com
  13. It is my #4 top seller and I get my oil from www.saveonscents.com
  14. www.naturesgardencandles.com Has a wonderful hot cocoa that is very chocolatey, but creamy at the same time.
  15. Depending on how much you want, you can get little 1oz sticks from Oscos and Walgreens, but if you need more - it is way better to order in bulk online somewhere close. Where are you? I am in Illinois and get all my cocoa butter from www.soaperschoice.com
  16. KristinesShower, but I only posted a couple of times. That banner seemed to be everywhere and it was hard to read some posts so I didn't visit often. I love this new board though!
  17. I am starting to see that! I definitely will make that one of the new ones
  18. My pink cupcakes have a thick vanilla cake scent with strawberry & buttercream frosting.
  19. Thanks Chiptooth for the recipe. I posted it on another forum to help sweeten the posters a bit (read..hopefully settle them down) I hope you don't mind!
  20. Maybe they changed it this year? I remember doing that one last year in Christmas tree shaped containers and it was knock down drag out pine tree lol Now that description doesn't sound like the one I got last year lol
  21. Last year was the first time I ever ordered scents from there as I have 3 suppliers I have used since I started. All the Christmas ones I got were amazing in my 100% soy candles & I really can't complain about any of them. If anything, they were too strong - but how often do you get that complaint I got these last year for Christmas candles: Holiday Lites Christmas Fantasy Fireside French Vanilla Jack Frost Red Hot Cinnamon I get all my wicks, wick plates, stickers and color blocks from them. They have great service & I am very pleased with them.
  22. When we get our oxides, we mix them with avocado oil & vitamin E, shake em up and let em sit for at least 1 week. When we are ready to use them for soaping, we shake em up and dribble them in until we reach the desired color. I always used to have problems with all my oxides and ums until I started this method.
  23. When we do shows there is always two of us. One carries the sorbet and suggests free samples while the other "mans" the sample table. This works very well for us as we had so many people come in and put their fingers in our stuff during shows. My MIL usually catches them when they first approach & then hands them off to me. I then watch them like hawks and suggest samples to them while I hold the applicator in my hand *offering it to them as they sniff or pick up the sorbet* PS - If you have a hard time selling a particular scent, sample it this way and I guarantee you will sell out of that scent lol
