Jeana
A LONG time ago I bought some musk from Issaquah candle supply. They aren't in business anymore but now I need to find a musk just like it. The one from CS is too powdery. The closest I have found is from Oregon Trail, which is nice and btw smells exactly like Coty Wild Musk from the 70's if anyone is looking for that. I would like something less perfumey more true White Musk if possible. Any ideas?
grama
Starrville has a white musk that I like.
Candybee
Elements carries Flickers Tropical White Musk. I love this fragrance and used to mix it with gardenia for my palm pillars while I was making them.
Jeana
Grama, have you tried their Masculine Musk? They don't have a description of the scent on the website. Edited May 28, 2012 by Jeana
grama
No Jeana, I haven't tried that one. I was looking last night on Daystar's website, they have a free ship on over 50.00, and they also have a White Musk. I also have the Egyptian Musk from NG and they smell smiliar but think the White Musk is a little stronger. Though, I have had repeat orders for the Etyptian Musk. TallTayl
I've tried a good number of musks. The only one that gets repeats on is NG Egyptian Musk. It's light OOB, but performs well in CP. I rename it occasionally.

Jeana
It's not the Egyptian Musk from Oregon Trail. The one I am talking about is called True Musk, same company though. If you get the Egyptian Musk you may be disappointed. I have no idea what their Egyptian Musk smells like. I have one from another company that has more of an incense smell. Straight from the bottle the True Musk really smells like Coty, the clear spray bottle type, I don't remember the dipstick one. I just put some on my arm to see what it smells like on skin. Now it only smells only similar. I guess you guys will have to be the judge for yourselves, its been a LONG time since I've smelled it actually on my skin. Now that its been on my arm for a bit the smell in the breeze around me is more Coty-ish again from what I remember. I would say it is worth trying it if you're looking for a Coty dupe. Darbla
If you get Candlemaker's Store e-newletters, there's a special this month that includes an African Musk. I'm thinking of trying it because I like the sound of the other FOs in the special too.
Lorelei
Darbla please let me know about the African if you order it.

I had tried the Egyptian and it was not the Coty Wild Musk oil in the bottle with dipstick I looooved in the 70s. Did you try True Musk? Was it what we were hunting for?
