LaurieF
Can somebody help me come up with a color for my Spiced Cranberry? Everytime I try to get a cranberry color I come up with some puke. I know this scent would fly off the shelf if I could get it to look nice.I've got lots of different flake dyes and liquid dyes but no cranberry. HELP I DON'T WANT PINK! jbement
Did you try mixing red and black dyes? Depending on the base color of your wax, some proportion of the two should work.
flightoffancy
I use red and black liquids to get cranberry. For 1 lb of soy I add 3 drops red and use a toothpick to add a generous swirl of black.
Luci
I've been pouring Peak's Cranberry Citrus for the past day or so and have been using the red liquid dye from CS. I didn't plan on doing them in the darker cranberry color and wanted more of a Christmas red, but I got cranberry with 8 drops pp.
2rottndogs
To get the cranberry color I want, I have to use 2 cinnamon chips from Candle Science. Anything less and I get a offlooking putrid color.Kim
R.S.
Peaks has cranberry dye chips
racolvin
I use the Cranberry color crystals from Makes Scents for my Cranberry Spice candles.
awickedscent
I have always used the burgundy liquid color for Spiced Cranberry
Sharon in KY
I use liquid color from AH. 3 drops red, 1 drop Magenta, 1 drop Plum. This makes a nice shade, Not sure what wax your using but I use soy and this is a little dark.
PamR
I use dye flakes. I like a toned down deep red for my cranberry. Adding black or brown helps, but using green will tone the red down since it is the complimentary color of red. Don't over do it tho, or you will get a yucko brown. Also, red added to green will tone down or deepen the green color.PamR
funnygirl
I use 10 drops of burgundy with 5 drops of orange pp. This gives me a deep cranberry red, and the orange offsets the pinky/purple color in the burgandy. HTH! BTW, I use Shades liquid dyes from BCN.
jennhalcyon
I use liquid dye and I use 5 drops red and 2 drops brown. It is more red than burgundy, but I like it for Cranberry marmalade.
erinmfritz
I'm sure you figured it out by now, but what I do is add burgundy liquid with a little purple. In my mind, cranberry isn't as red.
