  1. After a long, long time making muffin and cupcake candles, I am calling it quits. I have an awesome customer in New Jersey that needs to find a replacement for my candles. Anyone know of someone who still makes their muffins and cupcakes by hand and out of paraffin instead of soy? I told her I would continue to make these until the end of the year, and that I would do my best to find someone who makes them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PamR
  2. Hi, it's been awhile since I've been here, but I just received yet another busted shipment of wax! The box was completely ripped to shreds! Are there any companies that strap their wax boxes? I am in NE Texas and have received shipments from Lone Star & Bitter Creek South. It's not really their fault, the boxes are just so heavy! I've ordered wax for 10 years, but it seems the last couple of years I can't get a shipment that is intact! Frustrating to say the least! Any info will be greatly appreciated!:undecided
  3. KyWax is out of my Amaretto and I need a good, clear colored Amaretto. Any suggestions? Thanks so much
  4. Hi, I have a customer looking for someone to who makes the soy dipped critters. I don't do these, but told her I would try to find someone who did. Thanks to any help you can send me. PamR
  5. I have a customer requesting Vanilla Bean, and I have no idea whose vanilla bean she has smelled, lol. Any suggestions on the best Vanilla Bean out there? I have tons of vanillas, but no Vanilla Bean. Thanks so much Pam R
  6. I also keep lots of extra droppers handy. The rubber tips will deteriorate over time. Of course knocking a bottle over every now & then doesn't help a lot either! PamR
  7. I also think you could create your own template, but instead of using the actual label stock to check the accuracy, print on plain paper & hold up to the labels. It has helped me tremendously especially if you have an 'empty' sheet of the labels, you can line these up great. PamR
  8. thanks, that's helps alot. I think I'll try the nature's garden one. PamR
  9. Have a request for apple orchard. Any suggestions? I have only found one at Nature's Garden. Thanks in advance. PamR
  10. I have used tall pringle containers. Of course these were one time use only, lol. PamR
  11. I agree, if you know about the history of candlemaking, this is not out of the norn at all, at least for the 'prairie folk', lol. I wouldn't want to fool with it. PamR
  12. I have several of their florals. Southern jasmine is really nice. Their vanillas are great too. I wish they were a tad cheaper tho. PamR
  13. I don't know why it won't let me post this, so I'm having to use the reply to my own post. Ups just unloaded a huge box of wax chunks, lol. After weighing the chunks, I'm about 6 pounds short. My whole week has gone like this. It's not the suppliers fault, igi uses flimsy boxes. Oh well, at least I don't have to chunk it up for melting. PamR
  14. just checking to see if this post gets posted. I can't seem to post a message. PamR
  15. thanks so much. I don't think I can order in time for this customer, but will check those out for future orders. Pam R
  16. I have a customer looking for an 'iced cranberry' scent. Anyone know where I might find this? I have no idea what this might smell like. Thanks so much PamR
  17. yes, vybar 103 for pillar waxes will give you a more opaque look, although waxes will vary, some will keep some of their translucent qualities more than others. Universal vybar won't do much for making the wax opaque, so be sure it is vybar 103PamR
  18. It smells nutty to me, lol. I like it, just too nutty.PamR
  19. I do too! Makes me think more & more about throwing in the towel!!PamR
  20. not sure what happened to my post, lol. These pillars are small, so the lx12 is perfect. I know wax changes, but I've never had this happen with this wax and I've used it for a very long time. The proof is in the pudding, lol. Made 2 identical candles, one with new 1343, one with some left from previous purchase. The lx12 burns like a dream in the old wax, but won't even stay lit in the new wax. Even tried a 60C, htp105, and eco 12--barely stays lit in the new wax. So, I'll just have to make wickless candles with the new stuff. I guess I should contact the supplier or igi just let them know what is going on, but it's always 'our' fault, not the manufacturer.PamR
  21. Gotta rant to someone! Don't cha hate it when the wax you've used forever has changed? I've used igi's 1343 for years for some mini pillars I make. I make so many that I had 30 custom made metal molds made for the 2.25 X2.5 mini pillars. Always used a lx 12 wick with excellent burn no matter what the fo. Just ordered new case($113 with shipping) & even a 60 cotton wick won't burn the wax. I tried every wick in my arsenal & finally realized it wasn't the fo, but the wax. Now I've got to reorder wax, & hope it is better. Not a good day for me, lol. Thanks for listening!PamR
  22. Ok, is there a trick to getting wick pins out of votives made with the ecosoya pb without breaking the bottom? I am having fits trying to get a decent votive out of this wax. ThanksPamR
  23. I agree with the balsam & citrus, my fave! I also like the french lavender, & I HATE lavender, lol. PamR
  24. Don't know about 'corn', but I made some corn muffins using buttered popcorn fo.PamR
