thecandlespastore Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I scented this one with the Ripe Banana Fo from Herbal Soaps by RJ, yummy fragrance, very true to banana. Pureed 2 small chiquita bananas and added 4 tablespoons at trace. It went into instant gel after that: Quote
HeavenScentU Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 That looks awesome!!! I bet it smells yummy!! Quote

Carriegsxr6 Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Yum, I bet they smell great. Hey how do you make the background of the photo white like that? Quote
Scented Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I'm sniffing ... I can't help myself lol! Yeah I love your textured tops. I need a class Quote
thecandlespastore Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 Hehe, thank you for looking. For the white background I have one of these that I got a few years ago when I was feeling spendy:http://www.sharpics.com/Products/featured.htmlYou can easily make one with a box and some white kraft paper and clip on lights. The textured top is created first by me making a kind of side to side design with my small spatula. Then I take a bamboo skewer and go the opposite direction:grin2: Quote
Scented Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 You make that sound a little too easy! Someone told me that once too and I'm still not getting it all that well Quote
maryann Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 LUV IT!!! So for 4 tbsp of banana how many lbs of oils/butter?? Quote
Kaybee23 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Very nice....it looks much nicer than mine did and prolly smells better too. I wasn't happy with my banana experience, but may try again soon. Quote
thecandlespastore Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 Aww, dont give up, it was a fun experience:wink2:I used 4 tablespoons for 36 oz of oils/butters. Quote

Someone told me that once too and I'm still not getting it all that well About what, the light box or the textured top? For the textured top I will have to see if DH will video me one day while I do it. The lightbox is really easy, here is a cool tutorial:http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent/ Quote

Meridith Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Oohhhhh. It looks so creamy and smooth. Good job. About 16 years ago, the Body Shop used to sell a banana conditioner made with real bananas for the hair that was really nice. The bananas made my hair feel so soft. I'll bet that soap will feel nice. Quote
thecandlespastore Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 Ohh, some guy says he uses the inside of his fridge to make the white background. So I tried it, took a sheet of paper, put it at the back of the frige so it curved and then placed the soap on the bottom half. Results:Did a good job! No editing, no flash, one shot. I might have to start using my fridge for this, lol. Quote
