  1. That sounds like the place I just had it happen from. Several scents were changed. She said "what you got is what you got". In the end she did emailed back with "Oh there was something wrong". Alot of the same oils Ive used from this place have changed (and not just from the phalates removal..Its MAJOR). Sorry that happened to you!
  2. Okay you guys are a dream!!! Per suggestion I tried 2 Csn wicks as I seen they had a size 9 at candle science . Wow !!burning steady ,perfect mp and beautiful throw , I could almost cry! Lol I Just thought those wicks were more for palm but boy did they work in this setting! The 9 seems to fall in between a Cd 8- cd-10. Im So happy ,I spent so long testing this one style and scent thought it was hopeless . I love this forum ;)thank you P.s Please forgive any typos as I'm doing this on my iPhone and the screen is small! Ha
  3. Interesting info here, thank you everyone! What gets me is the majority of chandlers making these " cake in a jar" style candles are only using one wick!!?? Ive always doubled wicked and most likely will continue to do so, but I know single wicking is even more involved . Kudos to them:)
  4. Thank you! I'll be remaking this 6 layer jar again tomorrow and try that. I did not know that about the wicks meaning the 83's ! I figured the htp 104/105's would be a match for the 8's/10's.. Interesting!!
  5. Hey all, I've been in love with CD wicks for several years and buy them in bulk. Normally the Cd8' and 10's with my 464 wax in the 9 oz hex or double wicked apothecaries . My problem is with some of my bakery style candles in my 16oz apothecaries ( whipped wax and embeds etc) the CDs drown out every so often and the 10's are too deep of a mp and huge flame :embarasse i keep remaking them and moving the embeds , trying different techniques and no go. testing is just so fun huh??lol Anyway, anyone have a old thread they can post of maybe info on something that would be in between these 2 sizes etc ? I do have lots of wicks i can try and will ( thinking maybe something that dosent self trim) but didn't if anyone knew if there was a wick between these 2sizes more like a 9 ??! I couldn't pull up much with my iPad search. Thanks so much!!
  6. I too use Homemade apple pie that used to be from KY now RE. A neighboring Chandler uses the ST Baked Apples and it smells (to us) identical. Great throw with both!!
  7. Just wanted to FYI . I heard from Kathy today from ICS. She said she ordered a new batch of her newer version of cinnamon buns and it should be back to normal. I'm super happy to hear this as there was such a difference in smell, burn and HT. So if any have tried this and given up, hopefully it was a manufacter error with this recent batch. Also.. I mentioned Cade's cove from ss seemed different oob, once I got it in wax it was the same, so please disregard that statement
  8. I just got my VBN from ICS. I ended up emailing TNC to beg for VBN. Im sure they are sold out but thought I would try as theirs is amazing!!
  9. Whew , Im glad there are some that still seem to be the same. I agree most CS oils seem unchanged to me too. I just got these in today and This Version Smells Like the classic more than the newer one I was used to.The Cranberry Orange Spice Ive used for years and this time is not the same even side by side both are totally different .Kathy said she will check with the manufactures to see if they changed anything. Maybe its a very recent issue.
  10. WEll sadly its hit me too. I just received orders from 6 different companies . While several of the oils were the same many were totally different ( Ill say IMO). I thought I got the wrong Cinnamon Bun from ICS as the One we used was awesome it was her newer version. I thought maybe she sent me the classic as it smelled like muffins with none of the original kick. She simply replied " Hello there, what you ordered is what you got". Its terribly disappointing to find your long used oils so changed. My Ones from RE that were formerly KY smell the same thank Goodness! I wish we could get a list going of whats changed and whats the same. Heres What I got that seemed Bland and totally different or weak to me. ICS: New Version Cinn Buns ICS/ST: Cranberry Orange Spice ICS Vanilla Bean Noel Southern Scentsations : Coconut Cream Pie (Coconut is almost non existent ) : Seychelles Cove (A lot of notes missing on this.looked like water)
  11. @chandlerwicks ..I did this morning early and they already sent me a "shipped" notice. I wish I would have known they took request before I ordered. I searched the site for vanilla bean noel, it wasn't even on there let alone with a sold out notice:( I also order the vbn from ICS today.
  12. You guys are really sweet thank u.. I always see every flaw in every soap, Im trying to embrace em or call the flaws "Art"..lol
  13. Im sorry I left off the 25..yes 0.125 (and should have put .05) Thanks for the correction .
  14. Congrats on the Cp!! Looks great! I LOVE the watermelon Soap, very artsy!
  15. :)Thank u for the heads up. I actually just has a pound of this FO from a sale from Daystar and just hadnt used it except for like one candle. It smells awesome in Soap tho so Im hoping the scent stays strong!
  16. Ill respond to my own thread, as I went ahead and soaped it today:cheesy2: Behaved beautifully, actually it seemed to slow down trace with my recipe. I hope the scent stays as it smells now..SOOO yummy..Havent noticed any discoloration yet, but we will see in a few days!
  17. This oil is no longer available from them, and Ive searched everywhere for someone who may have used this to Make CP soap.NADA!!! I would like to Make Soap Cupcakes with it t (I.e. A, D ,or anything else). Thanks!!!
  18. Love it !!! Soap balls give such neat effect when the soap is cut!! I've seen the dark line and "edging " on soaps on several forums.. Is that Mica painted on? Really neat. All your soaps are beautiful!
  19. Thank you all, you are right Luci..So much fun!!
  20. Sure its really easy. I just got the brain storm one day and called some colorant suppliers up and the basically all told me the same thing.. They use 2oz of Colorant to 16oz Glycerin for Most Micas, Pigments and Colorants. (You would use Castor I believe for Lip safe Colors) I got tired of Clumped Colors in my soap so this has really helped. Yes it has worked for me in Cp , but you would need to make bigger bottles as it takes a little more.. Heres What I do. Say I was just making one ounce Of color.. *I Get a little Dixie Cup and put it on my scale *Warm a bottle of Glycerin to about 110 degrees or till warm in the micro wave/Double boiler * Pour 1oz of Glycerin in to the Dixie Cup *Spoon in little by little small amount of your colorant into the warm glycerin..for 1oz of glycerin I would use .1 (Meaning double of .5..lol wasnt sure how to put it down, Im tired tonight) of Color * Mix well (the warm glycerin helps it to incorporate better) * Pour in to bottle and label with what mix and colors you use so you dont forget:) You will need to shake well before use or heat in Micro for about less than 10 seconds to shake and mix well. I Like uniform as much as I can get so I bought a ton of the needle tip bottles THATS IT!!!! Easy Huh.. I was Interested tho if anyone else does it what works well for them
  21. I love the BCN Lovers Rejoice recipe in the B&B recipe section and Just use the Shea aloe instead of just shea Not sure if that helps since it has other butters..But I love the feel the shea aloe brings to this! http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8089&highlight=BCN+lovers
  22. Okay so I've been having way to much fun making liquid dyes ( mostly for m&p as I wanted an array of non bleeding colors) I am curious to see how many of you do your own and any tips you may have .. I mix mine with glycerin at the suggested ratio. They are really great, but I'm always up to improving my "stuff":) I use mainly TkB micas , pigments , and oxides at a ratio of .1 color to 1oz glycerin warmed. Haven't done lip colorant liquids, any suggestions from those who have made them? Heres My Liquid Colorant area and the colors I use for them are above. Okay I'm done.. Lol I love this craft!!
  23. I will say that TKB Liquid Colorants I got Only took a Drop and was Overwhelmingly Colorful. I was VERY surprised and the best part ..NO BLEEDING!!..Just an IDea. their sample size will last you a long time.
  24. I make my own liquid dyes using glycerin and micas and never had that issue yet , thank goodness. You are right tho, it does take more to Color white, thats why I always use clear with a tad of white for opaque colors now:)
