Fire and Ice Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I just got the scent in and want to pour the containers this weekend but I need to know what color. Right now, I have a lot of brown candles so I'm hoping NOT to go that route but I've no idea what to color it? Thanks for your input, Fire:cool2: Quote
islandgirl Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I would say don't color it or chose a creamy off white color. Quote
country candlemaker Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 same here i don't color mine either,,or mabey you can go with ivory it does have a hint of vanilla Quote
firstlady Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 same here, no color because the oil its self makes my wax a little creamy / off white color. Quote
Fire and Ice Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Thank You! See now I would have done the very wrong thing and colored it brown! LOL!:embarasse . The faintest of Ivory color sounds great! I can do that, gang. You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for the needed help! Fire:p Quote
Candle Man Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Did you notice the pic I posted above it has more yellow in it. Quote
Accents Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I use some yellow with just a little brown, almost a butterscotch color. Quote
charity4candles Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I do mine almost a mustard color w/ some brown on the top..one of my best sellers Quote
silkysoycreations Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I've been making my creme brulee as ivory. Quote
Molly Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I do sort of a carmel color, mostly gold with a little brown mixed in. Quote
beesweet Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Mine is somewhere between ivory and butterscotch. Quote
amyp Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I don't color mine. The color of the oil is great. Sell a ton of this one Quote
The_Dallas_Texas_Dean Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I use a little liquid Golden Honey in mine. Not sure if you have seen it, but there was a thread on this somewhere on CT if I remember correctly...maybe it will help as well. Quote
Crafty1_AJ Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 My creme brulee fo is fairly yellow and gives the uncolored wax just the right touch of color, IMO. So color me another chandler who doesn't color her creme brulee candles. ;-) Quote
KFTS Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I used a smidge of brown, like 1 drop in a 3 lb pot. Quote
silkysoycreations Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I used a smidge of brown, like 1 drop in a 3 lb pot.I have found when I do that with my coffee color in a large amount of wax it come out creme/ivory...is that what happens with brown? I tried to make brown with my coffee color and it came out a brown/green color...didn't look good at all. Guess coffee and brown are different?! Quote
mharries Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I color mine an ivory as well. Sometimes I add a tad of brown & yellow to give it a more creamy appearance. The picture above of the real thing is too yellow for a candle for my taste. I asked around before I colored it & everyone I talked too said they'd expect creme brulee to be an ivory'ish color, more vanilla looking. Quote
Fire and Ice Posted August 12, 2006 Author Posted August 12, 2006 Well I poured them last night and they are Ivory in color with a very light brown top. Thank you all for the advice. Now to rename it! LOL! Fire:cool2: Quote
wookie130 Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 For Creme Brulee, I've always used 2 chips of the "maize" dye chips by Reddig-Glo. Quote
lynnem Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I use a light dab of vanilla colorant for my Creme Brulee candles Quote
