I would be interested in 3lbs of the patchouli from lebermuth. Count me in!!

It seems out of stock right now, but i a, keeping an eye on it. If it does not come back, i am going to have it duped by my trusted lab. It takes about 6 months to do that though.....

Thought i'd share a recent patchou success. I have a few kilos of aged dark patchouli from liberty naturals purchased a few years ago. It is not uber thick yet, but it has aged well.

made an 8 oz deep tin of C3 scented at 6% wicked just one size up and am very happy! Burned well, HT was acceptable.Ct was acceptable.

I think i'll just stick with my EO until some FO comes available at a reasonable price that performs at least as well.

Exactly what I do. I just use the aged EO from Liberty anytime I need a hint of Patchouli. Patchouli FO just doesn't do it for me. I'm glad someone else here has had success burning Patchouli EO in candles.

Coffeebean - I'm interested to hear what you think about the FB patch!  Still liking my BA patch, but there's just something compelling me to try more options.  I may have a problem.  Just ordered some from Candle Cocoon (along with vanilla voodoo - excited to try that!).

Sooo, so far with patchouli I have tried:
1) Nature's Garden - Too perfume-y.  Very fake.

2) Fillmore - Scent was more true.  Cold throw decent, hot throw not so great (so far - I'll keep working with it).

3) Bulk Apothecary - STRONG!  Overwhelming oob, but after curing is tolerable & much more earthy.  (My husband says it smells like dirt, but in a good way - which is high praise coming from him! lol).  Great cold & hot throw.

4) Aztec - Haven't put it in wax yet, but oob it smells VERY sweet.  Very much like vanilla or honey.  Not sure what I think about that.  Meh.

5) Candle Cocoon - review forthcoming...

You mentioned Vanilla Voodoo.....That vanilla is the only one I use.  When I found it years ago, I never looked back and tried any others after such a long time search.  Totally rich and awesome and with CC oils you use much less oil.

I know this was posted a while ago, but wanted to say that I bought both Vanilla Voodoo and Patchouli Dreams (and Sun-warmed Sandalwood, too) from Candle Cocoon and yes!  The vanilla is a very sweet, like frosting IMO, but it's lovely and my husband loves it.  I also added a touch of it to the sandalwood and omg... that mix is awesome.  I am in love with that fragrance!  Patchouli smells great as well, perhaps a little weak (I used less than 6% as instructed on the bottle).  Haven't burned it yet so we'll see, then maybe up the percentage for the next batch.

Update in case anyone is interested:  It's been a week since I poured the Bulk Apothecary patchouli candle, and I have been test burning it today.  Hot throw is excellent; it's a four ounce jelly jar candle and the scent fills my entire upstairs!  Very impressed.  It also has that perfectly earthy smell I wanted.  Nothing like the original smell, out of the bottle.  Also, after burning, the wax doesn't crystallize like I'm used to with soy; it becomes perfectly creamy again.  I am so happy! :)

The only negative is that the dark oil originally discolored the wax yellow, and then the top turned a pinkish brown color after curing (the rest of the candle, that could be seen through the jar, stayed yellow).  Kind of weird.

Bottom line: still waiting on my shipment from Fillmore so that I can compare patchoulis, but this one has actually turned out to be quite good!

I know this post is quiet old, but I am new to candle making and after all these years have re-discovered patchouli. I have been looking for posts on where I might get a decent Pat. FO for my candles. did you ever try the Filmore Pat. and how did it go?

Jul - The Fillmore patch came out pretty weak for me... not sure what happened, but as good as it smelled from the bottle, it wasn't so great in my candles.

nursenancy - How did your WSP patch candles come out???
