Hi Joy, Well, I tried it again this evening. I poured two. A 12 oz wide mouth, and an 8 oz jj...both got huge sink holes right around the wick...this time I poured at the lowest temp I ever have, just below 100* - and it was nice and thick. I just do not understand what the heck is happening, this is just like the last 3 weeks..every single wicked candle I pour concaves right next to the wick. I am going to try pouring low and covering to keep them warmer for a slower cool-down time. I am at wits end with these things. Driving me nuts! If you have any ideas, I would really appreciate it. Why all of a sudden...the cool weather? maybe a draft? bad wax? I have tried every type of temp to pour, all with the same results. Thanks for your help. Fern-Marie

Yes it did Joy, thanks a bunch. I am still in sink hole hell, and still don't know why...and, come to think of it, I think I went back to the EZ after reading one of your posts. I still got sink holes..so, at least I know it's something I am doing. I suspect that with the cool weather, there may be just enough of a draft coming in from the vent above my stove, or something like that. Man, it is driving me nuts and costing me waayy to much time. Hi Marilyn, What do you mean "it burns funnier"? Can you be more specific, we are all dying to know! I am sure Jason is anxious as well. I narrowed the cracked tops down to my moving or bumping the jar or wicks. I am more careful, and goodbye cracks! Thank you for the input...I am waiting with breathless anticipation!!

Hi Joy...love, love, love your candles. I am wondering...did you have to wick up to add those embeds? Also, do you ever have sink holes or air pockets, or frosting problems, cooling that fast? Thanks for sharing.

Got mine at Wal-Mart on clearance, it's a two speeder. Absolutely invaluable...saved all of my mess ups. I never take it off my counter now...it is my new favorite kitchen appliance!

I have read so much about this Levine place on this board...makes me jealous! Someone posted last week (?) that Bed & Bath had some for $2.00 if you look under the Yankee Candles...I hope I got that right.

I use PaperMart.com I cannot remember how they delivered....It may have been UPS. If you request US Post, I don't see why someone would not accommodate you. The company would get their regular mail US Post, so it's not like anyone is going out of their way. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I wish you luck.

It would probably be easier to set up a buffet in the living room....? Put in a good movie, or football game...and make a day of buffet. Other than that...how many friends can you get to come over in a hurry?

Thank you for your responses. I am just not familiar enough with the different terminologies in the wax world quite yet. I am trying to get a grasp on the different products, but there are so many different types, and 'blends'. I am overwhelmed by the choices. I know that I do not want paraffin blends. I really want to keep to a natural soy. I would really love to find a soy that sets up well and doesn't have the sink hole problems; and of course, I want the good hot/cold throw. I am willing to try something other than the CB Advanced 2. Everyone wants the "perfect soy". Does it exist? I use the basic jelly jars: 4, and 8oz. I have oodles of LX 22 and 24 wicks, and RRD 40 & 47. I wonder if you could suggest something compatible? If this is more than you can deal with right now, Jason, that's ok, I will research and see what I can find. Undoubtedly, you have your hands full with your generous offer. Thanks again, Fern-Marie

Thanks, I think that I just might give it a try. I wondered if I could use more fragrance when I am not using dyes especially. Now I'm going to be thinking about it half the night...I'll be up at the crack of dawn...again! Fern-Marie

I have to jump in on this one...normally they are terrific around here...my only problem is when they place the large, very heavy, package... IN FRONT OF THE STORM DOOR...HELLLOOOO! DID YOU WANT ME TO CLIMB OUT A WINDOW TO GET MY PACKAGE!!

They are so inexpensive and easy to make, why don't you give it a try? I just use mini-muffin tins.

PPl do dumb things, I make votives right in the glass...now they have a glass, and a votive. It makes me nervous to think that ppl do these things, but they do. I am really trying to push 'safety' into their heads. ...and tea-lights...what is up with that! They buy them and just sit them on the table and burn them! YIKES! Then they ask me if they should put it on a plate or something...YA THINK! I am afraid to ask them what they think tea-lights are for. I set them up in various glassware in hopes of starting some kind of a new trend!

May I ask how it is that you can use 9% FO? I thought that we weren't supposed to use more that 5%....? What's the trick? I use CB Advanced...can I use 9%? Thanks, Fern-Marie

Someone, please, explain something for me: I do not understand what is a Pure Soy Blend...what is the "blend" part? How can it be both "Pure Soy" and a "Blend"? What are the benefits of the "Blend"? Does using a blend mean that those who use beeswax, or stearic, or universal additive, don't need to add them? I use CB Advanced 2, are these new brands equal to, or better than, what I use? I have ppl who want "Pure Soy" because other waxes seem to bother them - ie.: coughing, watery eyes, etc., how does a "Blend" effect that? With a "Blend", can I still call my candles "Pure Soy"? I don't want to call Jason and sound ignorant, so if someone can help me here so that I can make an intelligent, conscientious decision, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much. Fern-Marie

Organic implies 'live micro-organisms'....like manure - that is organic. However, now-a-days, ppl use 'organic' to describe what should be described as 'Natural', and is accepted as such. Once something is processed, like soy beans, to the point where we use it to make candles...it really, technically, is not organic, it is no longer alive, and in it's purest form. Soy is grown in America - by American farmers, therefore supports American Soy Farmers, and it is a natural product. It is a vegetable ...I would think that the farmer's would appreciate that fact. Smiley!!!!!!! I was making votives and t-lights today and it suddenly dawned on me that I gave you wrong info...I am sooo sorry...I was extremely tired. The correct wicking that I use is TL 15'S OR 18'S, AND THE VOTIVES ARE LX12 (LX 10'S are generally too small for me, but may work with the EZ) Heartfelt apologies, I sure hope that I didn't mess you up. I am so sorry to hear of your trials. I lost my mom to diabetes a few years ago. After a 5 year battle of trying to save her legs, and her life, God in His infinite wisdom and mercy took her home. So, I understand the difficulties and fears you feel - only too well. Damn this disease to hell - I hate it! If the drs. he's seeing can't get his sugars under control....go to another dr....don't walk...run. Diabetes is a raging wildfire that must be kept under control. There is too much at stake. Don't despair, if he has a good dr, he/she will figure out what is causing the instability. New meds? Vitamins? Exposure to allergens? Any dietary change? Something not routine...Anything you can think of that seems insignificant could be triggering it. There are also some herbs that are supposed to help with sugar regulation... I don't know if you are aware of this, I was not, but Cinnamon is one. Heart-felt prayers to you both. Stay strong. Fern-Marie

Hi Heatsink, I never got this reply notification, but I just wanted to thank you for your input, and encouragement. Sure sounds like you know your stuff! I thought that the water-bath would work, and got that 'conquer the world with this great idea' feeling...wrong! I will definitely try the slushy pour this week, this seems to work for other ppl. Hi Smiley, I was using EZ for awhile, but liked the CB Advanced 2...only 'cause it's prettier! Made decent tarts, though. But, I used the LX 10's and the LX 12's...still do...the 8's drowned, and the votives...LX 15's or LX 18's...but I don't do the free-standing votives...I use a votive glass and fill with wax. Ppl pay more and they are more compatible with my set-up, and pushing ppl to use candles wisely and safely...you'd be surprised how many ppl just stand them on the table and light them!
