  1. I use C3 and agree with both above posters. That being said, I never have wetspots with C3 but I live in a very warm, dry climate. I do not prewarm the jars and I pour when a slight skin begins to form, around 125*. I also temper C3 and use USA which gives me a much smoother, creamier wax, no frosting, no 'bubbles', and great adhesion. hth
  2. Chefmom, the Grapefruit & Mangosteen is not skin safe : (
  3. CDNs work great in C3...in that size jar try a CDN 12-14.
  4. Candlescience has CSN wicks that are made specifically for palm waxes...hth

    Portion cups

The cups at Sams are not suitable for melts...they don't have the #5 on the bottom. hth
  6. Received them today and to be honest, theyre some of the best feeling balms I have ever used...love them!! The packaging and labeling are perfect, wouldnt change a thing : )
  7. You can either let it cool to slushy stage or let it harden then heat it back up to 185*, add fo and stir, pour at the temp that works best for you.
  8. Thanks for the clarification. I tested the tart wax in pellet form for quite some time last year, was not impressed. Good to see other's doing well with it though.
  9. Are you testing their 'tart' blend or the 'pillar/votive' ? Thet dont list a tart/container blend that was mentioned earlier.
  10. Ive always tempered my soy along with adding USA...imo, I wouldn't add fo until after you've tempered the wax.
  11. I really like Peaks Ocean...its fresh, not powdery imo.
  12. Seepage is when you use too much fo and the wax is unable to hold it. I havent tried Candlewic but they get great reviews on here. Candlescience has a rating system for their oils in soy...Ive done well with them. You havent mentioned the type of soy you use so its difficult to recommend a wick but CDNs do well in most soy, hth.
  13. Zinc wicks are best for paraffin, for soy try CDNs, ECOs, or HTPs. Soy wax does not have the same degree of ht that paraffin does, but thats not to say you cant make a great throwing candle from it. For soy, it's best to stay in the 8-10% range for fo's or you'll run into wicking and seepage issues. Be sure to cure the candles a good week before testing for optimum throw. hth
  14. The labels and packaging look great! When will they be available on your site? Im needing more of your concealer and want to throw some of these in with it ; )
  15. From Candlesource I like... Cinnamon Sandalwood DKNY Be Delicious-dead on dupe J&J Bedtime Bath Grapefruit Caribbean Coconut Pink Sugar These perform well for me in soy and parasoy...hth
  16. Glowworm posted in the 'similar threads' down below that she uses bcn...hth
  17. I started out with that wax and it does make a beautiful candle....I never had a problem with frosting, will have to check old notes for pour temp. I did well with Candle Science fo's, the one's rated 3 leaves for soy. I used 10% fo and usually did well with that. Some that I remember that threw well were. .. Beach Linen Macintosh Moonlake Musk Sex On The Beach You could always add container paraffin to it to alleviate the frosting issue and increase ht...anywhere from 25% up to 75%. hth
  18. For your first one I think you did great....more brave than I ; ) I have zero experience with this type of candle making, but wish you well with this endeavor and have fun!
  19. Yes, Ive found they bend more and is one reason why I chose CDNs over the HTPs.
  20. The color is rich, its beautiful!
