  1. You are all so sweet. Thank you! Trappeur- I'd be happy if you bought one of each. I am working on adding the 1 oz sample sizes. Thanks for the compliments on the labels and packaging. I spend a lot of time designing the labels. And I went round and round on which containers to use for these. I really like them. karen- I'm working on quite a few new lip balm flavors for fall. I hope to have them done soon! Thanks for the compliments on my photography. They're just taken next to a window and then I edit in photoshop a little to brighten them if needed.
  2. I make 3-4lbs at a time now since I make so much lip balm. It's nice not to have to make a new batch each time. I do the same for my solid lotion base that I make. For one I use a loaf mold that's made for soap and just cover it with plastic. The other I use an old tupperware thing that I found at the goodwill (i cleaned it out really well) that I think is called a celery keeper. I wish I had more of those, they are the best and come with a lid. I can take a pic of them if you need me to.
  3. I like #4. Your everyday labels are awesome as well. I would keep the font of your business name the same.
  4. Thanks so much! It's always a little nerve wracking to introduce a new product.
  5. I have been working on these since April! Testing and testing and testing! I LOVE them and I've finally started adding them to my shop online. I've had a couple of friends test them too.
  6. I have a couple of small snowflake molds that are candy molds. They were only a couple bucks a piece. You can find them at joanns or michaels. Also, if you search candy molds on Etsy there are a few shops that have some great molds.
  7. I've been wanting to be able to take credit/debit again but I still have an old school phone. Once I do, I will use the paypal one. I've heard good things about it. The money takes a couple of days to go into my bank account but I don't mind that. I have a paypal debit card so I can use that if I need to and most suppliers that I order from take paypal. I've never had problems with Paypal. I have 2 Etsy shops so having a paypal account is important.
  8. I think it's funny that people are admitting to not stirring for 2 minutes. I never have either! I started making wax melts almost 4 years ago and I remember reading on here that people stirred for that long but I decided that wasn't for me. I stir stir stir for not that long and then stir again right before I pour. My wax melts are strong. I've never admitted that I don't stir for 2 minutes because I thought everyone here did. It's nice to get that off my chest. lol.
  9. I love Jack Frost, Peppermint Patty, and plain Peppermint from NG.
  10. I've done consignment a few times and like everyone else said, I will never never do it again. I lost money each time. I kept thinking that "this" time would be different. I've heard some people who have done just fine with it but I was burned every time. I also had one go bankrupt and I was fortunate enough that another vendor found me and let me know so I could go get my products. It was only wax melts. Most of them were damaged and I had to sell them at a discounted price.
  11. I've made them. I really like them a lot but I haven't tried selling them.
  12. I've made bath bombs a few times before and never had the chemical smell. I had citric acid and SLSA but those were the only fizzing/bubbling agents in it. I don't have my recipe in front of me but I think it called for 1.6 oz of slsa. I had most of the usual ingredients too, baking soda, citric acid and a mix of oils and butters, plus the slsa. My skin feels great though.
  13. Thank you so much I will keep trying. Just not today. lol.
  14. I tested mine tonight and even though my skin feels wonderful, there's a chemicalish smell to my skin. I had to put some of the body powder on to make it go away. I'm not sure what I used that would make it smell that way. I don't like that I wasted all those ingredients. I don't know that I really like having the SLSA in the recipe, or that it's necessary. It didn't really add much to it.
  15. Oh yeah. I've used it before to make bubble bars just not bath bombs. Both the tapioca powder and slsa are both easily air born so I usually wear mask. I did make some earlier today. I am definitely out of practice. My recipe was too wet but I added more dry ingredients to it. We'll see how they are in the morning. I made them about 5 hrs ago and so far so good. I'm really excited about them!
  16. I started working on a new recipe last night and I'm trying to put the finishing touches on it right now. Hopefully I have time to make some before I have to leave in a few hours. I've never made them with slsa so I'm excited to see how they turn out.
  17. ha! That's funny. I looked all over in my suppliers for natrasorb too and didn't know it was tapioca starch. Well I have a million pounds of it here because I use it in my body powder and body butter. nice! I'm sitting here working on a new bath bomb recipe and I was going to add it to my recipe anyway. I'm glad you posted. lol.
  18. It's kind of crazy how some wax will work for some and not for others. i tried the pillar blend by itself and it wasn't strong enough for me. If you just tried one scent, that's not really enough to test whether or not the wax is good. With the wax blend I ended up with, I still have fragrances that aren't as strong as I'd like
  19. Ecoysoya xcel is the container wax from the same company. If you want to mix the pillar blend, I would test several different proportions. I've recently changed mine because I started using different containers and for some reason they are frosting quicker than with the other containers I was using.
  20. I think there are a few on here that use it plain for tarts. I mix it with xcel for my tarts.
  21. Wow! Gorgeous! I'm so impressed, that butterfly is so amazing.
  22. I have a ton of molds too. Though it's been awhile since I've made soap. I went crazy last year and bought a bunch. I need to get back into it. I would love to have some huge molds where I could make a lot at a time. I was watching some videos on youtube and one lady that I love has the coolest molds and I want them. I look for molds whenever I go to any one of the thrift stores in town.
  23. Great displays. I am always looking for better ones. Right now, I just use tables and various items I've found at the dollar store to display things. TallTayl: Those are EXACTLY what I have in my brain that I want for my displays! I'm so jealous! They are awesome!
