  1. Learned the hard way...I burned myself while fixing Thanksgiving dinner. Grabbed a pan coming out of the oven without using a glove, you'd think I would know better after all these years of cooking. The only thing that help was putting my hand in a bowl of ice water the whole evening. I did have some J&J burn ointment but that did not stop the pain. I also used butter on the burn.
  2. I am going to try the one Element sells and see how it goes.
  3. Same here I need to go through my oils trying to figure out what to pour. I am thinking Love Spell (yuck), Red Hot Cinnamon, Chocolate Cherry and...blank! blank! blank!
  4. http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?CategoryID=134&ProductID=3700&ProductName=Crafters+Choice%e2%84%a2+Santa%27s+Pipe+Fragrance+Oil+516 How about Santa's Pipe, I had this FO many years ago and it smells like someone is smoking a pipe and has a little sweetness to it. IMO disgusting but it may be what you are looking for.
  5. Ok now that Christmas is behind up what scent should I pour next? Is it too early for Spring and Valentine scents?
  6. Yankee candles are mottled wax, I haven't seen any soy? Frankly they don't impress me much it seems that for the money they could look better.
  7. Maybe I am thinking NG Beach Bumb compares to Beach. I have I candle made with Peak's Beach Daisies, smells nice but now I forgot what the Yankee one smelled like got to go back to the store.
  8. Men you got to love them. I don't even let my husband near a burning candle because I am sure he would find a way to burn the whole place down!
  9. NG Beach Daisie a dupe for BB Beach?
  10. Went to Bath Bed & Beyond yesterday took a sniff at some Yankee candles. I really liked Beach Flowers anyone know if there is a dupe outhere?
  11. I took a look at her web site the embeds are cute and it sets her clamshells apart from the rest but I wouldn't copy that it is kind of her look. From what I have seen she uses some wax embeds (pinecones), some botanicals and some resin flatbacks (little deer) and lots of glitter. I stopped making tarts with glitter because you end up covered in glitter when you have to breaking a piece.
  12. I have a few Lonestar - good FO but I try to order closer to home and save on shipping.
  13. I am sooooo bad at blending fo's that never works for me.
  14. You can use regular sugar sprinkles, AH has candle glitter and what she uses in some of her clamshell are resin flatback they are used for scrapbooks.
  15. I am not sure if this is the right place for this thread but I need a good linen spray base - I have been using WSP concentrate and I just hate mixing it with modifier. This does not have to be a room or body spray just a good linen spray base, any suggestions?
  16. I have a customer who is looking for a dark chocolate, spices, and citrus blend??? I have tried Fragrance Oil Finder but I can't find anything. Any suggestions?
  17. NG has one not sure if it is good or not.
  18. If the smell is too much now wait until you start making candles. I work in a room downstairs with plenty of windows and a door but when I make candles the scent travels all the way to the top floor - I guess covering the vents with magnetic vent covers might help a little.
  19. I have never tried them. You can paid a lot and get an FO that is weak. I have bought FO with great review on this board and they just didn't work for me. If I had to pick one supplier it would be NG and they have fast shipping and good customer service which doesn't hurt. This an expensive hobby, so I would start small and test your local market. A lot of people are selling their supplies, molds and such on eBay.
  20. Not sure if this is the right place to ask but where can I find a votive box with tray inside to hold the votives and a clear lid?
  21. Did you try NG? Their FO are pretty good in 464.
  22. You can enter all your receipts, expenses, supplies bought manually into Quickbooks, no need to buy a scanner. I don't think that Quickbooks does bar codes but I know that you can do inventory using Quickbooks and there is no need for bar codes. I used to work for a promotional products company, we bought tons of wholesales items for resale with logos and things like that we had to figure out the cost of the item plus the cost of embroidery, retail prices, profit, how many t-shirts we bought in a month, how many pens we sold in a month...Quickbooks is amazing. The trick is to enter all your data...everything. If you have an old copy of Quickbooks you can upgrade it ot you may want to look on e-bay for an older version. No I do not work for Quickbooks
  23. Stella is right Quickbooks will do it. As long as you enter all your vendors receipts and all you sales receipts.
  24. It's been a while since I worked with 6006 but I used zinc wick and never had a problem with the burn. You can also try compare a CD 10 and a CD 8.
  25. USPS has APO Flat Rate Priority - Brown is right it is just like shipping in the US
