  1. Yes, you can disable the right click feature so others can't copy your pictures...ask the people you have your website with they will give you the html code...in the meantime you can always put something on your website saying that "so and so store is not an authorized retailer and that your pictures are being used without your authorization"...my copyright lawyer says that if it is true you can not be sued.
  2. I don't know what is wrong with some people...when I first started in this business I had my pictures stolen off my website many times now I put my company's name on all my pictures. The attorney won't be able to do much unless you own registered copyrights. You can always contact the website provider and inform them that these are your pictures and you want them removed.
  3. Where can I buy Aloe Vera Gel ???
  4. I am looking for Pink Marshmallow fragrance oil...I am pretty sure this is a mix since I can't find it anywhere...any ideas on what to mix together to get that scent?
  5. Been there...so test, test, test and you will end up with a great product.
  6. I bought a couple of YC a few years ago and for sure I got black jars after burning the candles. They are very expensive and not very well made but their labels are great. I have had many of my customers tell me that my candles are better than Yankee...and that they didn't think that handpoured candles could be so nice... I think that people buy the name and because it is expensive they think that they are getting the best it is our job to educate them on what a good candle is.
  7. Sounds like a scam...I get these all the time. But if you really want to do this order you should ask for half down before starting to work on the order. You can always request an International money order or a Western Union if that country has a Western Union service at least you'll know the money is real.
  8. Yes, I am using the white foaming bath whip...
  9. I bought some TBK colors after reading great reviews on this board...I tried some in my whipped sugar scrubs I used10 drops into 16 oz and my colors came out very light... how many drops of colorant do I need to use to get deep colors?
  10. I am trying to get rid of my addiction to BBW hand soap and I figured that since I already have all the BBW scents anyways I could make my own soap but I don't know what I am doing:(. I bought a couple of foamer bottles because I liked the shape but I do not want to use the foamer soap...I am trying to find a creamy soap base similar to the BBW kind...anything like that out there.
  11. Soy requires a lot and I do mean a lot of testing...cure time varies from one scent to the next...some candles will have a great cold throw after a couple of days and for others it will take a month maybe more...this is a lot like baking you have to find the recipe that works in your soy. Overall I think that soy makes a more fragrant candle and I would never go back to paraffin.
  12. I used Cut'N Curl wax when I was making those but I don't remember where I was getting it from.
  13. Delete, delete, delete...most of these are young girls and in many cases they never do the reviews. IMHO People looking for freebies, giveaways and stuff like that are not going to buy anything.
  14. Never be nice in business... This little old lady has been buying from me for many months, she works in an hospital and place large orders for the staff. First she didn't want to buy in my Etsy store instead she convo these large orders then she didn't want to pay with Paypal so I sent her an invoice via my website's shopping card...her two first orders where for around $50.00 and the payment went thru without problems. A couple of weeks ago she asked me to ship the items before I got the payment because she had to collect the money from the other ladies... This is such a nice friendly lady and she orders every weeks, so to be nice stupid me went ahead and shipped her 2 boxes... Now she has another large order and claims she sent me the payment and that the money was taken out of her bank account. I use Authorize.net to process my credit card payments and not only are there no records of her last payment but all she ever paid for are the first 2 small orders... So about now she got around $500.00 of candles and tarts and only paid $100.00... that's a great deal since I think that she is selling my stuff. So don't be nice and beware of little old ladies!
  15. I have search all my fo suppliers in search of Cherry 7Up...poundcake or cupcake anyone knows who carries this fo???
  16. I use liquid soap colors but everything ends up pastel. I am looking for a true red for my FBB...who is TKB...
  17. For me it is the other way around I tried a few Peaks' FO after reading great reviews on this board and I can't get them to do anything in soy...so I use them in tarts...I use many of NG's FO and they work great in soy...
  18. Imagine that you could have done it yourself by going to sun.biz.org in 2005 I paid $50.00 or $60.00 to become an LLC LLC is done at State level and can be done online by visiting your State's web site.
  19. OMG when the company who makes Tampax comes after this person for trademark infringement...for using their product without authorization...I hope Tampax is as nice as the Just Born Corp. with the Peeps molds incident...
  20. My original post was meant to be a JOKE! It wasn't directed at anyone...there is nothing wrong with being a new candle maker...it took me years of hard work to make a great product and after ten years I still test, test, test... I made candles for 2 years before I started selling them and I got insured before I ever sold my first candle...so yes I find it amusing when I read posts about people making a couple of candles and starting to sell before they know what they are doing...and wondering if they should get liability insurance (again not directed at anyone)...just my humble opinion... If you love what you are doing and make a great product you will be successful but for those of you who think that this is a way to make easy money think again.
  21. I am glad you got a laugh out of my "bad grammar"...I am not a native English speaker, I could always post in French but I doubt that many of you would be able to read my posts...so I guess I will have to stick to my poor English and bad grammar. As for the rest of your post...I have been in business for 10 years now and I have seen a lot of new candle makers come and go...so let's see how long you last...
  22. Buy a case of wax (any wax will do), wicks , jars and fragrance oils...mix it all together no need to measure anything or test your final product...making candles is very easy anyone can do it...start selling on eBay and just think about all the money you are going to make with your new candle business...don't think about the look on your customers' face when their candles explodes and their houses catch on fire...never mind the lawsuits and the fact that you have no liability insurance...you'll deal with that later after you've become a candle millionaire. Seriously I couldn't help myself after reading a few of the new posts this morning.:laugh2:
