  1. If you go, think about taking their cards and telling them you will call them when you are set up to handle them. You will be surprised how hard it is to say no to the money. The excitement gets you and then you are over your head. I have had to trun people down, I hate it, but there are only so many hours in the day. I just moved to a warehouse so I can produce more, without bumping butts (literally). I have a couple of people working part time right now, it is hard to hire somebody you trust enough to not take your secrets. I hired an accountant last month when a distributor came in and ordered for 5 stores. I can only do so much and I hate that part. I see what you mean about your family. You won't have much time, my kids are gone and hubby travels, but I work from 6am til I drop at night. I hope the warehouse works as i can get the ladies to work full time and maybe I can enjoy a little of my grandkids. Money isn't everything. Think about making contacts for later. Tell them your are in the early stages, and be sure to watch what you think you can make. I would not buy from somebody that was late with an order and I had empty shelves. I have actually dropped several lines (big companies too) because of their poor shipping and cs. when I order, I want it in a reasonable time. but if I found something I liked and they weren't ready yet and told me upfront, I would be pleased when they were ready and called me.
  2. If you go into walmart and look, they usually have them all together, but some will be different sized. really sucks if you are trying to fit it in the mold. I haven't had the wick pin problem, but some won't fit in the mold at all. I bought them all at wallys. I buy them online now and they are all alike.
  3. www.papermart.com you could also try your local florist
  4. I have read where people are having problems making these work with their printers. Check your manual first. I think it said only the crystal clear ones were the problem. I don't make clear ones so I didn't pay much attention. I do remember it was for laser, cause that is why I opened it. PS, they have a co-op going on labels right now!!
  5. I think you can just microwave soy, no need for a crock pot. That is whjat I do when I use soy for something.
  6. hardly anybody even knows .net or .biz, they type in .com I would find a name that I could use in .com and buy it now, they are pretty cheap and it may be gone when you are ready. I go through godaddy. i don't collect them like some people, but I do buy ones I think I might use someday. they are only a few bucks a year and it is sure worth it whne you are ready. Plus maybe you won't need it and somebody will pay you for it. I would use .com only though.
  7. I approached the first couple, now I only go if my customers are begging me to. They want me in their area. Most of my wholesalers find me from my packaging. I had a new come in two weeks ago, begging me to fit her in. She has been a pretty good account and has ordered several hundred every week. I have had to hire a girl to come in and help me keep up becaus eof my accounts. I love it when I am approached and I don't think I will have to do the cold sale again. i agree with the retailer side, although the last one I approched told me she was ordering form somebody else, but I thought I amde this for her I will leave it. I gave her the samples and her next customer in line asked if she was finally going to carry my things and when would she have them, she just loved them you know blah blah, sounded just like a commerical. Well she caught me leaving and has been placing pretty large orders really regula. I was on cloud nine for a week.
  8. I do not charge extra for private label. I sell a lot of wholesale (at least to me) and they really like this idea, why advertise for somebody else? I do charge a set up fee for my tart labels, but only charge them what the stamp costs. I am pretty handy on the compuetr thoguh so it just take me a little bit. Most don't even have a logo, so it is pretty easy.
  9. The story goes ---Ivory discovered their floating soap by accident, somebody wen tot break and over mixed (whipped) the soap. They discovered it floated, and the rest is history. ---I used to whip mine to make them float for the kids when they were little. Just used a hand mixed back then and whipped it like you would taters.
  10. They are all made by the same company. i do not carry them anymore, I used to sell a ton of them, but had several people tell me that they had them and the caught on fire. One lady down from me brought hers in and it looked like it had blown up, so I quit stocking them altogether. You can by them from candle warmer wholesale if you want a better grade. I think they ran about 3.50 levine has the ceramic and if you have a graden ridge they are nice and huge, but run 10 a piece. night ladies it is time for tv and ice cream.: ps turn your warmers off when you aren't around. I don;t think a trivet would have helped much.
  11. I sold tarts for years from another lady, when she said she was unable to keep up, I started making them. It is a good thing, that I had a quality to measur eup to or I would have just done any old thing. I bought wax and a few scents and when I found one as good as hers, I started on another one. I didn't even try candles for a long time. I sell tons of tarts so my testing was pretty easy.
  12. I make mine by replacing a percentage of the water with witch hazel. (rebatch) I add herbs to mine, but I am often asked to make it plain. It works really nice and I sell a bunch to teens.
