  1. Trust me BK, no one is ever going to say anything about how a candle looks after a burn. They just want a nice smelling candle. Trappeur
  2. Is that how all soaps are made? With animal fats? I thought you could make soaps the "vegan way". I know nothing about soaps by the way. Wow Tall Tayle......so chickens are carnivores? I never knew that. They will lap up the scraps? Learn something new every day.....lol Trappeur
  3. Now that sounds like something I would love. I'll put it on my list. I do very much like Lone star oils even though I have only ordered a few and they have been super nice. Trappeur
  4. You know I would give them a heads up and tell them exactly how you feel b/4 you use any of the oils so at least you have something to fall back on. I haven't had a problem ever with them, but there could always be a first. Trappeur
  5. Good going Quentin. I would have done that....lol Haven't heard from him yet? Trappeur
  6. Hey Arch, so what 1 style jar did you buy in the 2 different sizes that has no "bossing" on them? So is that what you are going to offer to your prospective new clients? Trappeur
  7. Thats why I said, let him pay with a check or cashiers check. Trappeur.......................... You know what I would do to play along with this is have him give you the order and see what he wants. Just tell him you have to check your inventory first, but at least have him give you an order and then you get with him and tell him the pricing.
  8. I bought one a few weeks ago....I'll get the info on it. Trappeur
  9. I've seen posts like this before and to me it sounds great. Why would this be a red flag? All he has to do is send a check (no credit card) and you deposit the check into your account and see if it clears. If he wants to pick up, then by all means, great. One thing you don't have to do. Sounds pretty good to me. Trappeur
  10. I have a vast assortment of jars I use. I use the jars by the look I'm going for in a store, so the store dictates to me what look I'm going for. Trappeur
  11. I've done it in a pinch a time or 2, but no I generally won't do it, put a label over embossing. I think it looks tacky and unprofessional. So try and get with no embosing. Trappeur
  12. Well, they are all embossed. Even if they were debossed, a label still wouldn't work over the letters/numbers. Trappeur
  13. Well, they sure are extra work, but I've been doing for years so I'm stuck with them....lo I beat you to it....I have those horse shoe molds for quite some time now....very narrow and skinny but I use them/ Trappeur
  14. Hello Wolf and welcome. Your in the right place for sure. I am very curious on something. Being that you are brand new to candlemaking and are experimenting with wax blends, could you describle what you have been doing as far as blends go to make you develop a love hate relationship. When did you first start out in making candles? The date????? What have you been doing and why are you coming to such quick judgements being that in this wax world it is a natural given that this type of adventure is a very time consuminng thing. How are you arriving at your conclusions? What waxes have you tried? What are your procedures? Have you done testings with oils or without oils? Any waxes that are not blends? cure time rates? We would better understand and maybe offer guidance if we all knew what you were dealing with since this is all brand new? You have pictures of your findings????? Are you not liking the looks of the tops after when poured? What about scents? Do they throw? Trappeur

Smells like I've been baking sweet potatoes for 1/2 the day and they just came out of the oven.
  16. Sure, no problem.....just walked right in with my basket presentation of completed candles, speak to the manager, show him my candles and then it's a done deal. Trappeur
  17. I'm up against this all the time....so lets see Lemon biscotti or lemon pound cake Some type of apple spice Pumpkins sell for me all year long so maybe a pumpkin pecan waffle or pumpkin caramel Hot Apple Pie Cinnamon Buns or some type cinnamon Coffee sells wonderful like caramel coffee latte.
  18. The 8oz are all without embossing and are from Flaming. The 16oz jars are not square but are round and have1 side free for a label. This jar I buy at Save a Lot (no shipping). They are the Golden Harvest jar. They look like very similar to the mayo jars. I believe Aztec carries the Golden Harvest. Even though 1 is square and the other is round, they look very nice together. You can get the 16oz square jars from a few suppliers but they all have embossing (measurements) on the sides.
  19. Thankyou Glaslln, Great idea about renaming the vanilla. I think I Will change it to Dark Bourbon Vanilla. Trappeur
  20. Doesn't hurt to try Arch. I've been eye balling Tractor Supply here myself but every time I go in there they have all these different brands of candles all bunched up together on a wire shelf sitting in the doorway as you enter and it always looks like old marked down merchandise. Just a horrible way to merchandise and not appealing what so ever. I would specify that I would go in there a couple times during the week and merchandise the line of candles and service them as I see fit....but I don't know. Trappeur......
  21. I'm finally winding down on all these labels for new accounts and here looks like my last one for Ace Hardware. These are 2 totally different looks. This is going to be a toughy one for them to pick out which one they want. I love them both. I think I'm leaning towards the red one as the store here caters to a lot of campers, hikers, hunters, etc so I'm thinking they might go for this label, but who knows? So which one do you like best? This red label the black border will be trimmed off so you will see just the red/black buffalo check. I found this label to be nice and clean and very vivid. Trappeur
  22. In the search bar on Ebay type in "rusty tin crafts" and tons will show up. Trappeur
  23. I already ordered the rust wire and tin stars on ebay. See pictures. I am doing for my presentation an 8oz square mason jar and also a 16oz canning jar. I will go in with a black lid or rust lid or both if I like both of them enough. Each jar will have the rust wire around the neck of the jar with a hanging star like in the picture. I already designed my label and wanted something colorful so I did one in the roping cowboy and one with the barb wire. We will see which one she likes the best.
