  1. I've never had my M&P gel. I never add more than 1 TBSP of butter to a lb of soap so I have no idea if that is too much. If it were me, I would add more base and melt it down and see if it sets up. At the worst you can always chunk it up after that!
  2. Good luck on that one! With so many different waxes, fragrances, colors, climates and containers there is no one good answer. I heat my straight soy to around 180 then stir in my color, wait till the temp drops to 170, add my fragrance, stir vigourously then I pour at around 150. My parasoy is the same only I pour at about 165. That's what works best for me. I have great results that way.
  3. KY carries it. http://www.kycandlewaxsupply.com/bathandbody.htm
  4. That happened to some of my soaps last week, I took a soft cotton cloth and wiped them. The little bumps did come off. I think what happened to mine was the changes in temperature lately.
  5. Could your soap be "sweating"? Without actually seeing them I couldn't tell for sure but it is a pretty common thing with bases that have a really high glycerin content or if the humidity goes up. It can sometimes have a crystalized bumpy look to it.
  6. A couple of hours. The loaf pan I let sit overnight just to be safe. I love my silicone molds. The soap just pops right out.
  7. LOL. I'm never lucky enough to need it when they have a sale! When you're desperate you just close your eyes and click "add to cart" and then grumble about the price until the wine kicks in.
  8. Are we talking about the same place? It was $24.99 for a lb of Vanilla bourbon! If you click on the fragrance list the prices are all different for each scent. The 16 oz bottles range from 14.95 to 35.00. That's pretty steep. Oh wait, I see, they are having a sale on the 16 oz bottles now. Normally it's 24.99 a lb. Wish I had known that a couple of weeks ago.
  9. I'm sure it won't make a difference but I've ordered a couple of times from them and never had any issues. There Vanilla bourbon is awesome. Pricey but awesome.
  10. I suppose you could offer to send them a sample or sniffie to test and perhaps you will have a new customer or don't bother because they've admitted to being high maintenance and obviously rude.
  11. Maybe she will walk away from this with a greater appreciation for what goes into candle making. :smiley2:
  12. I get a lot of my supplies from them and have never had an issue. I don't typically order my FO's from them except for soap and B&B products but I've never been disappointed with that either. They are fast on shipping and quite reasonable and I live in PA.
  13. Did you just pour on the confetti then layer or was the confetti itself anchored in a base? Just curious. With all of the colors you could just cube them and drop them into a white base so that when you cut it you have colored cubes. Or grate it into confetti like cheese and do the same thing with a clear or white base. At the worst, you have a batch that comes out really scary looking but I'm sure you can use it for yourself or your family. That's where all my experiments that go bad end up.
  14. Never mind! JBN is back up and running so I ordered. Whew, I feel so much better!
  15. I had no idea JBN was going to close or otherwise I would have placed an order for the CDN 8! Anyone have any extra they might want to sell? I simply can't afford 5,000 of them right now.
  16. Really Good timing! I have the best luck when I add them when the soap is cooling with a film on the top then I stir them in slowly. Some still float to the top but a lot of them stay in the soap.
  17. I've used quick oats before with no problem.
  18. The drakkar from Natures Garden is dead on. However, I use it for soap so I have no idea how it works in soy. Hubby has been a drakkar man since the 90's and just won't change so I had to find something exact.

    MP soap base

I must have missed a thread somewhere, why are we scared of Goats Milk MP? More and more places are moving to the natural bases without SLS in them. Of course I have found some with the SLS that my hubby loves. In fact he won't use my natural base soaps. I think it's a man thing. I have hundreds of recipes but I recommend just experimenting with combinations you like. Herbs are great and very versatile to add to MP. Ground Apricot seeds, Oatmeal, milk, honey, Herbal teas... The list goes on.
  20. My first kit was from Lonestar. I was overwhelmed with the amount of things that came with their kits, it was a great experience and I learned alot. Not to mention, I had everything I needed to continue making candles and experimenting with other fragrances and soy waxes. I use FO's from a lot of suppliers.
  21. My CS Love spell is a best seller. My sister is a HUGE VS Love Spell fan and she says that this one is exact. In fact everyone who smells it can't believe how much it smells to the real thing.
  22. I am a HUGE fan of candlescience, they are by far my fav. I also buy from Peaks, KY and Lonestar with great success. JBN is also a good one but a bit pricey.
  23. So far I've had rave reviews of it in my 50/50. It throws really well.
  24. CS Sex on the beach is a big hit for a lot of my coworkers.
