  1. I've had no issues using the 1 oz pp. I don't really see a need to go more than that. I've never noticed an appreciable difference in scent throw when increasing FO loads in soy waxes. I have seen an increase in appearance and wick issues whenever I've increased FO. The throw with 1 oz pp is pretty good in this wax. The CT is awesome. I'm still not 100% convinced on the HT. It's good but I'm still searching for a killer HT in my candles. I was using a parasoy before it was discontinued and can't seem to find anything comparable. I'm starting to wonder if my standards and expectations are too high for straight soy.
  2. A good company who cares, will want to know these things so they can fix them. Let them know! Feedback is the only way a company can fix issues.
  3. Really? Awesome thanks! I heard it in high school and loved it. I think it is pretty much become the mantra of my life.
  4. that C&S had a "soy sampler" a month ago! I think it would have saved me some time and money. All of the soy waxes I've been testing in one box. I think it's a really great idea. http://newcart.candlesandsupplies.com/Store/Products/Candles/PID-SOY-KIT.aspx
  5. I've been pouring mine a little hotter than everyone else and still having good results. The first batch I did was with CS Pumpkin Souffle and the CT was spectacular. I found the Eco wicks are working the best for me so far with this wax and I'm able to get a good HT with them. It's definitely not a miracle wax and seems a lot like the CB advanced only with a better HT. I'm in the middle of testing this and the 464. So far, I like them both. I don't color my candles anymore so I can't offer any help on the frosting issue. I should probably actually give them time to cure? I have no patience and I like to burn them as soon as I can. So far, I'm not really sold on either of these. The blend I'd been using was awesome (no longer available:mad:) so I'm thinking of maybe blending them with another wax.
  6. I'm kind of relieved. I thought when people spoke of "rough tops" that it was really horrible. That actually looks normal to me for soy. I never worry about it as a buyer and a chandler. As long as the candle smells awesome, isn't a torch and doesn't leave a lot of soot, I'm happy. How is the HT?
  7. I've had the best luck (or least amount of headache) with the parasoy blends. IMO, the best of both worlds. And then just when I think I have something fantastic, the companies change things and it's back to the drawing board. You're just going to have to decide what you want from your candles and go from there. I'm currently testing the CB Excel and I have GB 464 on the way. SO the fun never ends. I know some people use different waxes and combos for different sizes and containers. If you're not addicted yet, then I recommend you run while you can.
  8. I've ordered from them for years and never had a problem until this last time. Very discouraging to say the least. I did everything I could to just get them to respond to my emails and just give me a date they could have it to me or let me exchange with something else. I am very flexible with stuff like that.
  9. An Update: After filing a complaint with the BBB in Iowa, lo and behold I received the missing FO I ordered in March. Of course it doesn't do me much good because I have no desire to use their products any longer. Coincidentally, today was the deadline day the BBB had given them to respond to my complaint. Lesson Learned.
  10. Love spell- Candle Science -dead on dupe!
  11. If you can't find it, you could try making your own. http://www.altered-book.com/hobby-and-craft.html Also, I found some of the Kraft tissue here:http://www.creativegiftwrapping.com/ShoppingTissuePaper.html#anchor_253
  12. No, I didn't but I will give it a try. I wrote to them about it but never received a real response, just one of those automated ones telling me how to "prevent" problems in the future.
  13. I'm still waiting for half of my order of fragrance oils I ordered in March! I had never had a problem with them before so I guess it was inevitable that I would get burned with so many people having complaints. I will never use them again. Ever. Someday I hope someone sues there butts off. I have no idea how they are able to continue business when so many people having filed complaints about them. I tried to file a dispute with paypal but lost because they did have proof of shipping my original package, despite the fact it had only half my order with an IOU for the rest. Very disappointing.
  14. I will. I'm planning on an order this week. I like that name. I haven't had that experience here. Everyone just falls in love this scent when they smell it and keep coming back for more. Of course, I might be dealing with closet alcoholics.
  15. I see they have a vanilla bourbon also. That would be really convenient if they are both close to what I already have!

    M&P type?

I tried it a long time ago. (3 years?) It was definitely different in texture than normal glycerin bases. It had a drier feel and seemed to "shrink" a bit as they dried. It lathered fine and took color just fine if I remember right. I don't think it was too much like CP soap though. Perhaps order their sample pack of bases and give them all try.
  17. Thank you both! I will have to try some from each. Any other scents that are a must try from either of these?
  18. Having finally been burned by gelluminations (it was inevitable, I suppose ) I am searching for a good vanilla bourbon or vanilla and fresh berries. The vanilla bourbon is a favorite and sells really well so I hate to discontinue it. Any suggestions would be welcome. TIA
  19. They are really cool looking! I love the look of multi-color soap loaves. Gorgeous!
  20. Lonestar It's very strong in my blend and everyone loves it. I find the citrus to be pretty overpowering in it but the reviews from my customers keep me going back for more.
  21. I LOVE the original from B&BW. I hope it's a close dupe.
  22. I had hubby bend mine to make the spouts more pointy or more like a spout so I can control the flow a little better. Worked like a charm.
  23. I think using a little bit of clear base with soap glitter or pearlescent color(before pouring the white) on tips to give it a dew touched look would be pretty cool.
  24. Awesome. I'm totally in love with the scent. My BFF bought me some for the holidays and I can't get enough of it. Love it.
