  1. Peaks is dead on. My sister is a fanatic about that fragrance and she said it was awesome.
  2. Looking for a true sandalwood or close to it. All of the ones I've found are mixed with other things which is fine as long as it's the "earthy" sandalwood type. I tried CS antique sandalwood but it seemed way too sweet. Any suggestions?
  3. I don't think so at all. I add a little bit of paraffin to help with the HT, frosting etc. I love the look and the burn of blending the two. Soy has a thick creamy appearance and is less opaque. I suppose if I was trying to market my candles to have all of the "benefits" of soy, but I'm not. I had a specific look and burn I was trying to achieve and I found it with blending. I've tried most of the soy waxes out there and was never happy with the overall results. Just a matter of preference I suppose.
  4. The HT simply wasn't strong enough for me. I ended up switching back to a blend for now. It is a very nice looking wax and the CT was spectacular but I worried about that HT. I like really strong HT in my candles.
  5. For small batches, I use the glass pyrex and microwave to melt. For larger batches over a pound I have a soap kettle from Life of the Party. Works really well and melts the soap fast.
  6. Good quality, never had any issues at all with them.
  7. I have the BBW lotion and Peaks FO is a pretty good dupe.
  8. With my oatmeal soaps I like to use colloidal oatmeal powder in the base and then some chopped oatmeal just for the "look" of it.
  9. I use the large mason jars and put them in with the scented side up to dry. It looks like large reed diffusers only without the oil. That does pretty good. Then I just have to label the jar.
  10. Why not do both. Just start with a basic account with artfire until you get some sales under your belt. That way there is no fee. I am hoping that artfire will continue to improve and they are adding new things for sellers every day. I think it also will take a lot more leg work on your part but in the end it could be well worth it.
  11. Yes, I use it in MP soap. I use the cinnamon and clove in a "oatmeal Spice" soap. It just gives the soap a slightly warmer tinge.
  12. I just mixed NG Autumn Magic with CS pumpkin souffle and I think it smells really awesome.
  13. I use cocoa powder all the time. Works really well but you have to stir a lot. Otherwise it tends to clump. I also use cinnamon and powdered clove but in small amounts.
  14. Oh, it will show up........... eventually. :lipsrseal
  15. I have used the ones from WSP. I like how easy it is to just pour, wait for it to cool and then pop on a lid. Of course, I make about 2-3 lbs at a time. The only thing I don't like is that they are small. Guest size. So for the most part, I've been using them for bath salts and for packaging herbs and simmering spices.
  16. I LOVE the creepy halloween stuff. But, I'm weird. I say go for it, someone is going to love them.
  17. I've made a couple of batches for friends pets and so far, they love it. I think it's more because they can get it in the scents they love.
  18. The hottest my house gets is 78. I didn't notice any bleeding at those temps. I use 6% FO. Is it also humid?
  19. It's been a long time since I tried the CBA so I can only go by what I remember. IMO, the HT of the Xcel is better. It sets up very nice, takes color well and the CT with the FO's I tested was spectacular. The HT was good and did well in the rooms I burned them in. I couldn't find a wick that gave me a spectacular HT without burning too hot. I tested CD's, CDN's and Eco's. The eco's did the best. However, I HATE waiting for the candles to cure so I started the test burns after 46 hours so that may have made a difference. The FO's I tested were from CS. I've moved on to retesting other waxes and blends but I haven't ruled it out completely. Hope this helps.
  20. And here I thought you were going to divulge some naughty secret with your title! I use the one from CS and it's a big seller for me.
  21. I just went and looked them up on the BBB site and according to it, they no longer have a rating because: "According to information in BBB files, this company is no longer in business. If you have an unresolved dispute with this company you may wish to seek legal advice." They have also changed there phone number and name so perhaps they are just starting over due to the bad publicity? It will be interesting to find out.
  22. Is there a "theme" for the wedding? I love strawberries and champagne or wedding cake for weddings.
  23. I've been testing the eco and the cdn wicks with the excel. So far, I think the eco wicks are winning. I'm getting a better HT with them.
  24. I have one also and I love it! Easy to use and very easy to clean.
