  1. anyone? my sister's wedding is july 21st and she would really like these...
  2. heartfelt's rocky mountain pine is my favorite one so far.
  3. does anyone have a good source for 2 qt galvanized pails? i am trying to find then for a better price than $3 each. thanks!
  4. the reason is because if you are going to stick a wick in it and it's going to be burned by customers...you have to be sure you have the right wick, the right size wick and that it will still burn properly when you remove the very substance it is there to melt. take a candle. burn it for a while. now pour out some of the melted wax and what happens? the flame gets big because that compromised a good burn. are customers going to be that diligent to keep cutting the wick down? probably not. plus you need to know that you are not using ingredients that are not suitable for bath and body applications. quite honestly, i think that people selling these( at least the ones i see at craft shows, etc) leave customers with the misconception that they can take anyone's soy candle and apply it to their skin. the customer only hears the intriguing part" apply to skin" not the dangers of trying this with other candles on the market. candlemakers already have customers telling them they tried it with their candles because they "saw it done at a craft show". it basically leaves a bad taste in the mouth , which isn't fair to those candlemakers that try to promote candle safety.
  5. pumpkin cheesecake from BCS! it was suzanne's and rocks in paraffin and soy!
  6. some suppliers sell soy based fo's( they will state this if it is). what this means is the carrier oil is soybean oil. all fo's have to have a carrier oil in them. that doesn't mean they are cut/diluted. this is how fragrance oils are made. they have to have a base carrier oil. there are just a few that i know of. a synthetic base is a carrier oil that is not made of a natural oil. a fragrance oil is made up of synthetic ingredients, but can sometimes contain some essential oils. essentail oils are made strictly from plants/ flowers and a natural carrier oil.
  7. i have used it in lotions, whipped butters and bath bombs
  8. i line a cookie sheet with foil, then i just pour. if it runs over, no big deal, i just pull up the spilled wax and toss back in the pour pot. what does run off the pour pot is caught by a paper towel folded up and held with the other hand under the pour spout ( think pouring wine...we had to hold a towel under the mouth of the bottle to prevent drips on the white linen table cloths). it also helps to keep the pour pot no more than 2/3 full.
  9. looks yummy! but for future reference, i would recommend ground coffee so it's not a pain to cut or, worry about what goes down the drain. i bet it smells divine tho!
  10. love the look and the thought of getting something "natural," but i hate floaties in my tub, stuck at the drain or around the jets( even if i don't use them).
  11. instead of starting numerous threads on the same subject, just add it to ones already in existence. the wax lips were made from food grade paraffin, not soy. they didn't use soybeans back then. in fact, i think they used/ use IGI wax edible body butter and massage oils have been around a long time using vegetable oils, soybean oil is "newer"; but not so new now. it's also not soy wax being used....when it is hydrogenated longer, you get the wax flakes.
  12. right now, my best seller is the 16 oz country comfort jar.
  13. every now and then, they will post an announcement on a surprise 1 day sale on their board. just put "$ .99 sale" in the message box. it includes closeouts and 1/2 oz wick your wax fo's. and 50 lb. cases of Ezsoy @ the 500 lb price / $36.50 Sale is from 12:01AM CST till 12:00PM midnight CST Friday 6-22-07 at Bitter Creek NORTH only.
  14. 30 jars in honey & vanilla, and 50 tealights for my sister's outdoor wedding reception.
  15. geez peeps, she asked for critiquing on the label, that's it. if she wants critiquing on her site, she'll ask. just because her web addy is in her sig, doesn't mean it's an invite to critique it. none of us have to agree with what one writes on their site, but it's pushing it to go pull it out to disect when the post wasn't even about it. yeah, we all have our opinions and most here know that if you post a picture, some will be critiquing it and giving their opinions on it, even if it wasn't asked of them. this was about a label, that's it. i personally think it's best to "offer" advice on the website privately, and with asking if the poster doesn't mind a little advice or an opinion, instead of here.
  16. i won't sell something like this because all it takes is one idiot to dip their hands in while it's lit, catch their sleeve on fire, then sue; or worse...die. better to make a small wickless for the warmer, or small tarts to melt in an electric warmer...like the clamshell tarts.
  17. i am making 27 pint mason jars (for my sister's wedding reception) with a 70 EZ-soy/ 30 J-223 blend. light ivory color, lightly scented vanilla and only 1/3-1/2 full. i only use cd's so i would really appreciate hearing what sizes others are using . it's 3" diameter.
  18. i love this fo from BCN. 1 oz per pound in EZ- Soy was definitely strong enough, and it did great in a para soy blend. i have it burning now in incense sticks and it's killer!
  19. thank you! it's not wax. it's a blend of modge podge and spices, so no worries about it melting off. the labels are the kraft labels at BC that i modge podged with a little cinamon mixed in.
  20. lemon pucker and blueberry a lil orange with the cranberry crumble would be good too!
  21. oh, i totally forgot, take the labels off baby food jars and everyone writes down what flavor they think it is. or blindfold peeps and have them guess by taking a lil taste of each one, lol! if you don't like baby powder..you can mix a lil pina colada with it. i know it sounds weird, but do the q-tip thing and see what you think.
  22. here's the thread with pics: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41834&highlight=mold+liners
