  1. wax is designed to hold only so much oil, just like a spongecan only hold so much water.... if i am understanding right, you added too much. 1 oz per pound is all i would recommend per pound.
  2. i use a 2x4 and wrap part over the bottom so it comes up on the other side.
  3. this is cool having a craft forum! i never really had somewhere i could show things i have made... here are a few i did last summer: http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/gardensign.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/IMG_1215.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/IMG_1214.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/IMG_1212.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/IMG_1213.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/witcheswelcome.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/cauldronsign.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/witchsign.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/SecretHollow/sweetdreams.jpg
  4. okay, is this better? i don't have baby's breath and didn't get to finding twigs
  5. i can attest to their not responding to e-mails...i have crossed them off my list since the dupes i tried weren't even close to the real thing.
  6. for those that enjoy the Renaissance Faire, and dressing up....here is a crown i made for my daughter. what do you think? missing anything? she says no more leaves, but i feel tempted to add something, i just don't know what yet...maybe some twigs?
  7. wow, quite a few buggers, eh?! i was at a local festival yesterday where a lady was selling soy candles filled to the very top. i smelled a few, and couldn't smell anything...i watched the booth for over an hour as we talked with other people there...not once did i see anyone come to the booth even out of curiosity. when i did, the lady never greeted me or even got out of her chair....what always peeves me is those that think their product will sell itself while they sit back and read, or knit away; acting as if you aren't there.
  8. i have the same one and you are so right, it's killer!
  9. i have no desire to do repeat business with them. i recieved an order from them and e-mailed concern that the fo's smelled nothing like the dupes they claimed them to be. they never responded to 3 e-mails since before their vacation and after; which was before their "move." i have since found out that they don't respond to e-mail, which i think is crap. if business is important to you, you should respond to customers when they have a concern or whatever the reason may be. or drop your e-mail address.
  10. chocolate covered berries - you can use it in wash off products like soap, but it's not safe for use in stay on products like lotion, butters, or body sprays.
  11. my favorite tool is my stir stick. it looks kinda like a frosting spreader. my mom had it when i was little and handed it down to me. who knew it would come in so handy?! i use it to stir, scrape the sides of the pot, to break up small bits of leftover wax, whip wax,lol....i love it!
  12. BCN's Hot Cocoa! smells great in lotion, butter and bubble bath / salts! their chocolate brownie closeout is also fab in B&B!
  13. they are formulated in a concentrated state for the intention of being diluted when making an end product. in their concentrated state, they are too strong and will cause a dermal reaction.
  14. the standard going rate would be $1 per ounce.
  15. absolutely adore the last 2, you do incredible work!
  16. ick, unrefrigerated milk with glycerin?! who in their right mind?!!!
  17. she said the friend already tried Back Woods,lol....i honestly have yet to find one and have been looking for several years. i have too smelled back woods, but it wasn't a straight up corn bread.
  18. it should smell like cotton candy with a titch of citrus and a musk note that gives it a slight powder.
  19. here in MN i planted a little plant a few years ago. i covered it over winter and trimmed back the dead growth in the spring. big mistake! because that following winter i didn't cover it and didn't cut back the dead growth and it grew new growth on the old and the old turned green too and after 3 years, it's a good 3' diameter plant with tons of blooms!
  20. wow, great work! if you made some cool candle and soap charms, you'd be in business over here!
  21. i tie some stems in bundles and hang upside down to dry.
  22. on the home page of BCN, click on the newsletter icon and go to july's...
