  1. from nature with love also carries powdered milks
  2. BCN has a meatballer mold that makes a perfect size, and i use a plastic 2 piece from michaels craft stores for the big ones: the link won't work, but it's under the shopping cart under bath and body, it's listed as a bath bomb scooper
  3. i know this is kinda weird, but a lot won't see it in the OT.. Virginia "chuckie" torberg was making cp soap long bofore most of us. she passed away in 2004 at 82 years, and her biz was north country soaps in maple plain minnesota. her son richard "rick", i think took over and he passed away last year. and now their property is going for auction, but i would like to know more about them and if anyone knew them on any lists or boards? it sounds like she had a great history, but i can't find any on her or rick...if anyone can help, thank you vry much!!!
  4. i didn't order from their sale, but has anyone noticed the tupelo honey smelling like baby powder? i e-mailed them june 19 and again later and have not gotten a response, but since my initial inquiry, they went on vacation til the 15th. i tried the honey & shea dupe which didn't smell anything like the hand cream i have by le couvant. i was bummed , i am still looking for a true honey.
  5. the chocolate brownie in the BCN closeouts! what is with the chocolate cravings lately? i bought a chocolate shower gel from B&BW a while back and today i made a lotion with german chocolate cake and a splash of pecan pie( for a lil nut) and the girls wanted chocolate covered banana shower gel, so i mixed up GCC with banana cream pie...now i am in the mood for chocolate cake and brownies, lol!
  6. amber from BC just posted that they are oos at both locations. has anyone tried the perfect pumpkin in the WYW line? how does it throw in soy?
  7. BCN had an awesome pumpkin pie special in the closeouts, and sadly it is gone right now. i would highly recommend BCS pumpkin cheesecake. for gingerbred, heartfelts is really good and so is the WYW buttery gingerbread
  8. the one a friend got from QVC was a regular pillar candle with a short wick. it was poured over a thick plastic (rounded end in the wax) tube that the led light set inside of. the candle burned horribly.
  9. i mix cookies for santa BCN with sissie's sugar cookies BCS and it throws great in a parasoy blend
  10. i saw these at the mall a few years ago. the bottom half is hollowed out paraffin and a led light is in it. you turn on the switch on the bottom, then light the candle on top.
  11. maybe try pouring straight in, then tilt the mold afterward. i can see how trying to pour into a deep mold would be dificult, lol! i agree the heat gun works wonders!
  12. years ago i got some from WSP that was so dead on. i don't know how well it holds up in soy, but it kicked butt in paraffin
  13. i think BCN carries it too
  14. rice flower & shea or amazing grace would be my picks
  15. i don't know how good theirs is, but the B&BW line of "temptations" is awesome! we have the salty caramel ice cream shower gel ( likda like caramel corn without the popcorn) and the chocolate one. they are all very dead on to the real thing. oh and the cinnamon bun heaven lotion is really good too
  16. i use BCN's black powder and have no issues with wick clogging. hth!
  17. i have never had a soy candle sweat, and i use from 1-1.5 oz of fo per pound.
  18. i ordered some in the co-op just to try. not worth it in my opinion. they don't look real and a few you could see the glue or the styrofoam ball in the center. i would think letting fo soak up these is asking for them to fall apart.
  19. here's the thread: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35214&highlight=jelly+bath
  20. BCS throws like da bomb in soy or paraffin and it's awesome in cyclo spray and lotion!
  21. there was a thread months back. some of us tried the ingredients from natrasorb. my kids didn't like it. i tried it and thought it was weird.
  22. i just poured the tupelo honey yesterday and it smells like baby powder patchouli with lime or orange is really nice. it also blends well with ylang ylang, amber, rose.
  23. it's a big deal for reasons already explained. and not everyone here on the board is a "small timer." going as far as to say a child will see an adult do it then try it.. is not going overboard .it happens, and if you have children, then you already know they will try what we do.
  24. here is a little info on the plant and it's uses. i haven't tried any of it, but i do grow milkweed in my gardens to invite monarch butterflies. the scent is lovely! http://www.woodrow.org/teachers/bi/2000/Ethnobotany/milkweed.html
  25. finishing up candles for my sisters wedding, then we are off to go shopping for my youngest's birthday. he's turning 5 on monday and wants a green bike and a chocolate cake with orange frosting and chocolate letters, lol!
