  1. you would list the ingredient that you have the most of in the recipe, first... say you have 11 oz shea butter, 8 oz, avocado oil, 4 oz. jojoba, 1 oz. fragrance oil, and .5 oz preservative (this is not a recipe, just a made up example) you would list in that order, from greater to smaller amounts of your recipe. hth
  2. tell ya what has worked great over the years for my family, and when i lived at home with my parents and sisters... T-Gel by Neutrogena. it's refreshing, minty and gives a cooling tingle. worked every time. here's what it looks like, and the info on it: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp14490_333181_sespider/neutrogena_t_gel/shampoo_original.htm
  3. BCN is having a sale on theirs right now...it's an awesome base and super easy to use. just melt, add flavor oil, pour in containers and that's it!
  4. love Genwax's luscious lilac and BC's coconut cream pie
  5. okay so i got my candle...rum raisin. my take on it....light cold throw. took a few minutes of burning, but i did get a bit of crackling...but it's more like frying bacon (sizzling) without the big "pop",lol...and if you have the tv or radio on, you won't hear it. the burning throw was nil...in fact all we smell is a slight burning wood smell coming from the wick. you definitely need to get all the black, burned part off before you relight, or it will smoke and the flame will be too high. it took a good hour after the second light before i could hear anything from it. some slight hang up too, but it will probably catch up as it burns. you need to burn for several hours to get the burn going good for the mp. bummed it has no throw...i was really looking forward to it. now i wonder if wood wicks in general will do this if the fo isn't strong enough...kinda like the probs you can have with them throwing in soy or gel.
  6. i think if you do a search for them, you'll find another recent thread where some more of us put in our favs
  7. don't worry about it...flash point simply means it is the temp at which the fo will ignite if exposed to an open flame.
  8. looove BCN's...no cherry/almond to it and it's my top seller...i usually sell 5 bars & up at a time each, to 3 customers that love them.
  9. jbn: french pear - testing..i want that perfect straight pear chestnuts & brown sugar - melts bcs: caramel walnut - pillars, melts, jars citrus splash-lotions, cyclo sprays pumpkin cheesecake -melts coconut lime - lotions, jars, cyclo sprays
  10. i mix it with cookies for santa from BCN ...no cinnamon.... i don't detect the cinnamon straight either, but different noses pick up on different notes..i know that several peeps a while back thought it was more like a snickerdoodle and others didn't...which is why i still go for small testers to try ,cuz i just never know when my nose is gonna smell something others didn't.
  11. wsp is wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ i ordered an OV WW out of curiosity...i have friends and family that have tried them..seems some soot really bad, while others burn fine....THAT i don't like because you want your product as consistent as possible...but i have to hear and see for myself what all the hub-bub is about on a ww candle...plus rum raisin sounded really good, lol!
  12. BCS pumpkin cheesecake red velvet cake whipped cream cranberry crumble homespun sugar banana nut bread creme brulee caramel walnut( could drink out of the bottle!) lemon pound cake -smells yummy, but i couldn't sell it here
  13. it's not a fair statement to say that larger suppliers get lower quality oils because of overhead costs...maybe some do, but certainly not all...just want to clarify that a lower price doesn't necessarily mean the quality is lower. i have personally tried fos from different suppliers that varied greatly in pricing, and over the years i have been able to avoid the high pricing in all but 4-5 fo's that i currently carry....so, it's definitely doable secondly, if a supplier that buys out another's fo's goes and has them reformulated to save $, that would be like shooting themselves in the foot. a good reputable supplier would never do that. certain reasons to reformulate would be because of a low flash point, or certain components are no longer available to make up that exact fo, or the price of components in an fo have risen considerably and a supplier has the option to pay more, or choose another version...which they would (if reputable) and should make an announcement before hand or in some cases, ask their customers if they are still interested to keep an fo if the price goes up.
  14. i have a friend that swears by zim's too...i saw it at walmart
  15. well i finally gave in to curiosity and ordered a ww candle in rum raisin to try....yours looks great so far!
  16. the powderd black from BCN works great. if you have apurple tint in your black, add a bit of yellow...that's all the help i can offer, lol
  17. cyclomethicone is not water soluble, so it's not going to mix with water. i use WSP's modifier, which works great, but it's not nearly as strong as cyclo and fo...and it fades quicker. it is nice tho and i still sell quite a bit of it.
  18. you might check the box depot, paper mart, brp box shop, nashville wraps,
  19. i worked for a couple of years in the dog grooming biz. we used diluted johnson & johnson's tear free baby shampoo. my concern with flavor oils is it might encourage excessive licking,lol....seriously tho, a lot of doggie sprays and shampoos are fragrance based. i would try to research as much as possible and ask vetrinarians their opinions and advice.
  20. i add sugar and use it for a facial scrub...works great
  21. djinkers.com/ is another good site
  22. the surface scent can dissipate over time if the aren't covered, but once you light it; you'll find the scent is still there.
  23. Taylored Concepts has a strong straight Butter that i use for mixing all the time...a little goes a long way!
