  1. i get mine at Walmart and i just found baby ones( half the size) in the baby section for around 50 cents each...you might have to hit a few stores to get 100 though
  2. what a wonderful basket! she will feel so pampered!
  3. love them...great color combos!
  4. impressive layering but mann, i bet that took a lot of time! interesting scnt combos!
  5. great color combo, the layers bonded very well and it's a great first!!! keep 'em coming!
  6. i think that sometimes the price ranges can do with the bulk amount the supplier purchases..if they purchase a larger amount, they can charge less than a supplier that purchases a lesser amount. comparison shopping always seems to pay off, unless you find that you can get more supplies from one supplier and pay more for one or two oils, and shipping balances out. rather than pay less for a couple oils from one supplier and end up paying more for shipping them which can up the overall cost to you.
  7. very nice and i like the final touches!
  8. very nice..i favor the one on the right. i gotta ask, i'm not a fan of patchouli, but i like it in blends if it's toned down a lot...which one is the dominant in the blend, cuz i like orange in blends..
  9. great job on double wicking and i envy your gift at tying bows...but the bow is way too big for the jar and would need to be removed for safe burning....i know, slap me, but sometimes when i am really thrilled with my work, i overlook some things
  10. darice usually has an assortment
  11. http://biz.yahoo.com/e/060316/ycc10-k.html scroll down to " executive summary"
  12. i q-tip it...each q-tip represents one part in my recipe.
  13. i have used both square and flat braid and have not found a difference in which direction the V is in...but i too remember that was the schooling we all got back then. when i did side by side testing with the square and flat, i found that after lighting, the square needed to be trimmed back considerably until it created a melt pool, whereas the flat did not require trimming in those first few minutes. so for that i prefer the flat, but otherwise i think they both burn about the same.
  14. i think different tubs and water pressure can make the difference on good bubbling as well as the base itself. i have used BC's for years and haven't had it thin out unless i go over the recommended amount of fo. the bubbles last longer than any of us stay in the tub. but i do have a deep tub so the distance from the faucet is further, and gives more force to create good bubbles...but i've never had a customer complain...i don't think they really think about the thickness as much as we do...just like wet spots, lol Bugtussle, i pour some base into a large ziploc, add fo and dye, close securely and "smush" until it's well blended, then snip the bottom corner and pour into bottles.
  15. good point top, i'll try that...sorry to go off topic a bit.
  16. here's where it gets weird, and why doing your own testing is soooo important. i made tapers using the 5/0, they burned perfectly...using the same wax and wick for the 2" diameter pillars, i had too wide of a melt pool. weird huh?...right now i find that a 3" diameter is the easiest diameter to work with. either the 2/0 square braid or a 24 ply seem to work quite well ...i use 1239 and 1343 with stearic
  17. thought it was a great idea , so i was wondering who all from here is going to attend the Bitter Creek convention on the 19-20 this month?
  18. BC's Ez-Soy is white, but depending on the fo used, it can alter the color a bit.
  19. having pictures taken of you while working in your shop is great to display...just make sure to have all labels on your supplies out of sight. the last show i did, my "competition" didn't believe i made everything myself, even after she asked 101 questions, and knew i printed on my home computer and covered with packing tape. she even told customers when they were at her booth that i wasn't the actual crafter because a home crafter can't make professional labels....whatever! i guess the next step when they think you're too "pro" is to focus your sales on shops. which is what i am doing now.
  20. i like JBN's too, but it was too light as well...
  21. i love BCN's base..the only fo that i carry that thins out in it is OM&H and my customers still buy it knowing that. i use it myself over any other brand
