  1. I had to laugh about people thinking your candles were jam. I did a craft show and had jams there, SEALD of course and caught a lady opening all of them and sniffing! She said she though they were jam scented candles....
  2. Honestly, I think it is great that you all take so much pride and care into making your candles. I had ordered a couple of candles from someone and was so disappointed in the product. The jar was completely black and you could see a steady stream of black as the wick burned. I finally threw it out...
  3. I was actually referring to one above it, I did not even notice what it was, just saw the 6.00. I just always like a 1oz before diving off the deep end for more. It keeps me from spending my children's college fund....
  4. Holy Shmoly! I went to check out Santa's Pipe. how in the world can you make anything with those prices! Do they do coupons? $6.00 for 1 oz!!!
  5. We just use a peg board and hooks that you can get at any home improvement store.
  6. Midnight Pomegranate - like this one Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin - not really a fan... but I don't know what the real one smells like.
  7. I can understand your frustration... We do packaged tarts and warmers at craft shows. We have done about 10 so far this year and I am soooo sick and tired of selling right next to a SCENTSY lady!! Not sure how that became part of the art and craft show but there has been one at almost every show I have done. Very frustrating!! I even spoke to one of the organizers about it since items were suppose to be 80% handmade. She just blew me off and said. "Oh we allow others if the booths are not full". Another one I questioned why there were two people selling such close items and that I did not mind it if they were another crafter but competing with someone with such similar items from a direct sales company was insulting. She tried to tell me that she did not know they were so close. NICE try, since I sent in product photos!! Oh, but she did tell me next year they would make sure our booths were further apart, gee thanks!! It really bites, I feel your pain.....
  8. I would be flattered... If they are making that big of a fuss out of it and you really want to do the show you may want to show them your supply invoices. Just and idea, do you have photos of your booth? Sounds like it is really nice.
  9. I think I have tried over 20 vanillas and sugar cookies and I just can't find one that smells great from a tart pack. We only sell tarts and when I do craft shows I always get, " this does not really smell like vanilla"... If anyone knows of a good vanilla to use for tarts and a sugar cookie too that would be wonderful.
  10. Wow, can't say that I have been there but it sounds intriguing!
  11. No .... The thing that makes me so ticked is that one of our best sellers is from the company, otherwise I would just avoid them.
  12. I just have to say.... If you run a website it's just rude to not email your customers back. I don't care if someone has a $3.00 order or $3000.00 order they are still a customer. I recently purchased a fragrance order, it was not very large because we only make tarts and they don't take much scent. I had an issue with the order and emailed the company when I received it. I did get one black and white response and when I emailed back requesting that the goof up be added to my next order I recieved no replies. After trying three times I gave up. I won't go on about it, sure it's no big deal to them but to us small business owners everything counts. I will definitely do my best to keep my orders at a minimum from them, it's just not nice. Even if they would have replied with a no we can't do that I would appreciate it more than being ignored. Sorry for the rant....
  13. Do you have an account with the DIY help desk forum? That is the best place to leave a message.
  14. I ordered from ICS last year, just a few little samples and when I got them they were not the ones I had ordered. I understand that people run out of stock ect but there was no explanation in the box so I sent an email. I got a rude response back that they had tried to get a hold of us with no reply??? Reply to what, since we have email and a phone and did not receive a message anywhere I just thought it was interesting... We are just not into blowing customers off and probably do more than we should to make it right. My experience was definitely not as big of a deal as yours but when you have new customer ordering samples geez I would think you could be a bit more friendly about it.
  15. I agree we just moved and had to start over with finding shows, we did one just before Christmas and did ok especially since it was near home so no hotel ect. but then at the end the lady announced after 26 years she was not going to do it again because they had such a huge drop in numbers. I heard many vendors say they did not care because they had such a low show. It is happening all over....
  16. Thank you for the help
  17. Does anyone know how to color tarts? I want to try to make a tart out of a mold and color in different colors. For example if I wanted to make a gingerbread man with a brown body but give him details with colors for the frosting and face ect. Thanks so much
  18. Let me know if you have any trouble getting a response. Did you know there is also a help community forum? You can also ask your question there, if you don't know were it is sent me a pm and I will be happy to help you
  19. We ship overseas frequently, Australia is a big one for us. The last lady said she could not get the little prim figures or mini ornaments we sell anywhere over there. Anyway shipping overseas is really not a big deal, we use an online program for all of our shipping including international and the USPS lady just picks it up everyday. Of course be cautious of some of the countries that are not familiar to you. Canada and Australia are our most common and shipping rates are easily quoted of the USPS site. Just make sure your payment has cleared before you ship to protect yourself just in case. If your customer is using a credit card it may not go through if their zip code is required as part of your entry so try calling your merchant company as ours will do a voice authorization so you can collect from their card. Just my little bit to offer, :smiley2:
