  1. Camay, did you ever get any of the varnished ones to try out? I have had the problem you're referring to with CS tins before (non-varnish), but it was with palm. Whatever it was, it looked like rust and discolored the top area where the wax met the 'tin'. It only did it with certain FO's. I had issues with the fresh bread blend I made as well as a couple of others I tried. Anyways, I'm interested to know if anyone has had issues with the 'rusting' in the varnished tins from CS.
  2. Yep, done both as well. There are times where I change a recipe or phase out certain products and am stuck with a bunch of labels. I've decided to make product as it is ordered and label accordingly. That is what works best for me though.
  3. You'll really like Frankincense & Myrrh and Moon Lake Musk if you're craving deep, incensey stuff. Both are great in palm. I haven't tried the others.
  4. Ugh. That has to be frustrating. Sorry to hear this! On the upside, it is with enough advance notice that you have the time to look into other opportunities. Good luck!
  5. I may have to make this an FO triplet. I have never smelled MoonWorks Floral Muse, but Elements Olive Blossom smells the same to me as CS Rain Water.
  6. I have a few things to say about consignment. First off, if your items are not priced where you would make any money after her half is taken, then it's not worth it. I had one consignment account that started at 30/70 and as her shop took off, she changed it to 40/60 which was totally fine. I had it good as in if there were issues with theft, etc. she took care of that. What ended the relationship (for me) was the lack of communication regarding what was still in stock for her. She normally sent me a monthly list of what sold as well as a list of current inventory. I also kept track of the numbers and things didn't match up. It was an innocent mistake, but the lack of organization and completeness was too much work to keep it going. Bottom line - do what makes you more comfortable, not what is considered the 'norm'. HTH
  7. I'm not sure how many people here use that particular cart, but you'll probably find some answers here: http://forums.oscommerce.com/
  8. I don't think your nose is broke. Scent is different to different people. I smell a touch of plastic too. I used it at 6% in palm. Overall I liked it, but couldn't get past the occassional whiff of plastic. Strawberry is one of the hardest scents out there to find the 'perfect' one - for me at least. Good luck in your search!
  9. I've tried liquid stevia (the one I had was mixed with glycerin, so it didn't really mix too well). I've tried OT's and from what I remember it was good. MMS I've tried and it was okay too. I got a small bottle from Sweetcakes that I have yet to try. I'm no longer sweetening my balms, but I remember trying a tiny taste of sweetcakes and it wasn't bitter and could tell it was going to be sweet. I believe it is derived from licorice. If I ever get around to trying it I'll update with my results.
  10. It's definitely ready to use, but I can't bring myself to do it. lol I have a brother visiting for awhile, so I'll have him test it out for me. Still smells like play doh to me, but if it changes when water hits it like Jen mentioned, I'll let you know. As for color, I put TD in it, but it's pretty white (my recipe is usually more on the yellowish side by itself), so I'm going to say it probably didn't discolor very much - if at all. I still haven't soaped the toffee one yet. May do that in a few days.
  11. I had to update that I've got the Peaks version in my plugin melter and it has a great throw! And whatever nutty notes I smelled earlier are not there (I blame candle nose). I just put in an order through KY, but had to update this since I noticed the huge difference! I'm guessing I didn't wait enough on cure or I'll have to change wicks on this one. Mmmm! It's good.
  12. I view these as #1, to see if it's a working email and #2, if they get a response they can continue OR sell your email as a valid one. Never respond back. If they're truly interested, they know how to find your website esp if your email has your website in it.
  13. Thanks for the replies! Is it a cake batter scent? The one from Elements really smells like it's baking in the oven. It's not super buttery and it's just awesome. I just wish it was stronger. lol I'll look into KY though! Are there any others you'd recommend from them? I always hate ordering just one thing...
  14. I have a friend who was burning a cake candle that was to die for! She didn't know where she got it and I don't know the brand either. I found one at Elements that was spot on, but didn't give a very good hot throw. Is anyone familiar with the scent and know if anyone else carries something similar to Elements but with a good throw? I've tried AE/RE and theirs was too buttery and I just poured Peaks and it has a very slight nutty undertone to it that I'm not sure I like. TIA
  15. I've only smelled CS green tea. It's really lovely. Not a strong scent in wax for me. I don't use C3 though.
  16. Awesome! I'm so jealous of all that room! It'd be nice to have everything in one room so you're not moving back and forth. Great idea on a dolly for the wax too! Thanks for sharing!
  17. I love citrus, clean and light florals. I'm not a huge vanilla fan, but when I find one that incorporates slight tropical notes, I like that too.
  18. Okay, you covered most of the points I was going to say and said it in fewer words. ^--- what she said.
  19. I'm going to be biased since I have never tried Peaks. CS Mac is excellent! The only thing I wish was that it was B&B safe.
  20. I use them and they work amazingly well! I heat up my jars, stick them in and I have to be even more careful that I stick it where I need it cause it's extremely difficult to remove once I've pressed down. I use them with glass glow in glass and tins. Haven't had a problem with either.
  21. I LOVE the look of your bamboo soaps. Pretty!
  22. I have to ditto this nm. Connie has always been really great to work with and all of her scents I've tried (none in candles, all in B& have worked well for what I wanted them in. I will have to try a few in candles too! In answer to your question, I have only used her Bay Leaf and Pepper in HP soap and the guys love it! So do women too. It's got a really nice, warm, spicy fragrance that's appealing and unisex. Would love to try her plum fairy one.
  23. Haven't soaped their sweet pea, but did their sweet pea and vanilla. I tried to stop the browning by adding tit diox. and it still turned dark. No problems soaping and it smells very nice! Their sweet pea is next on my list though. Will have to post my results then. Btw, off note--Kristin, your buttercream soaps are cute! Remind me of brownies.
  24. Thanks for the reply. I'll try it out in another week at least so I can see if it blooms then. Here's hoping!
