  1. Not sure if this is the right area, but I recently ordered from a company I've never done business with before. It has since been about two weeks since my order was 'shipped' and I've been given a tracking link to check on, but it's been saying processed in the city I ordered from since I got this email. Now, I know there has been some bad weather in different parts of the country, but I really don't know what to think of this. The contact from this company has assured me that the order indeed went out and it's being sent by priority. I've contacted my postal office to see if they had any information for me and the man I spoke with said it was really odd that I haven't gotten my item yet. He was also quick to say that while Priority is not guaranteed, they have a 98% on time shipment rate... Has anyone else been having problems with on time shipments? If so, what service are you using? This is getting beyond frustrating.
  2. haha! I think our areas aren't defined a candle room until they ARE messy. I'll have to take snappies of my area when I get around to it. I use the kitchen, but I've got a whole big closet as well as a 'craft' room dedicated to my mess.
  3. For those of you who are sticking it out and worried about customers thinking you've closed shop... do you or did you have a newsletter in place? I'd be updating blogs, updating newsletters, etc letting people know that something unfortunate has happened with your website and give your contact info for those who wish to purchase anything with you in the meantime. If you don't have a blog, there are free ones out there (blogspot.com). At least if people try searching for your site, they'll be able to get some hits as to how to contact you or at least know that you'll be back... As for if the above is true and this claim proves to be false, those affected could definately get something for loss of business. I hope it all works out to those involved.
  4. I just purchased about 10lbs of this. I expected it to have a scent of some kind but this reminds me of cocoa butter. Did I get the right stuff? Is that how it's supposed to smell? I normally get the processed butter, but the price on this was too good to pass up. The package I got wasn't marked, so I'm just curious if there was a mixup somewhere. It's not really hard and brittle like cocoa butter so I am honestly not sure what it is! I think I'll feel better if others can confirm it has a smell similar to the non-deodorized cocoa butter. I just thought it would have more of a nutty scent. Either way I'll keep it cause it's absolutely DIVINE on my skin! I just wish it wasn't so limiting as far as fragrances go.
  5. First off - I was reading another thread about EBC and decided to order some samples of their all natural soap. It is due to be delievered today. Second - awesome to hear about an upcoming sale! Depending on my experiences with the samples, I may be jumping on that one!!! As for WSP and their shipping. I TOTALLY agree with you PA. I'm one state closer to them than you and it still takes a whole week from the time I order until it is delivered. It's always two days spent in their place before it's even shipped. I love a few things from them, but definately not one to order from when you're in a time crunch!
  6. Will do. I remember emailing them once with a question and never heard back... but I also recall there being some health issues involved. Either way, they're close and really nice pricing on the oils. I'll def give them a try.
  7. That is NIFTY! I love it! I'm afraid I don't have the tools to make something like that, but like someone else said, looks like I may have to gift some tools to myself instead! haha
  8. Wow. I don't even know what to say to that. I'm really really sad to hear the response you got from CS. Granted, I don't use the soy, but the effort they put into selling the 'sustainable' palm wax make it seem like they are really in tune with every aspect of the products they sell. Really makes me question all the hoopla on their site now if they can't stand behind that soy wax (even if it is reselling)... dissapointing is all I can say.
  9. I think it does. Mine used to smudge ALL the time with inkjet. I got a laser and don't have that problem anymore.
  10. Marking... i've made a few of my own, but wasn't able to figure out how to do the wingnuts. haha Will check this out later. Thanks!
  11. Nobody has tried them? Hmmm...I may have to be the first.
  12. I don't know, but I'm curious! I don't know the texture of the hydrolyzed silk (never used it before). But, if it's a powder, you may try to mix it with some glycerin first so you don't get chunks of it in your soap and then mix it all together. Let us know how it turns out.
  13. There are some good EO calculators out there that help you figure out how much to use. I was looking at MMS' last night. It let's you look by EO type of type of soap. Really helpful!
  14. I've stumbled on this site a few times before. Don't know why, but I can never manage to order from them. I've searched on this forum for more customer experiences, but no luck. Have any of you purchased/tried/used their base oils? They have really REALLY good prices on quite a few.
  15. I remember when I got items from them the first go around, the shipping was really high. The last time I ordered, the shipping seemed more reasonable. Still-- $13 shipping for 7oz of fragrance is REALLY high.
  16. You don't have to twist my arm! haha I missed that the first go around.
  17. AH/RE - got it on sale awhile ago. Bummed. The soap was really pretty just didn't smell like it was supposed to.
  18. How in the world did you get it to look foamy? I tried to whip some MP and it ended up turning 'taffy like' on me. Bummed out, but yours looks so yummy!
  19. Very nice Z! I saw your post on twitter with this. I think it's so funny that you guys have reviews of drinking the beer and then the soap! haha Or a local brewing company. I've been working up the nerve to talk to one in my town. They have a restaurant and a bar area where you can see it being made. Really cool. Still reading up on how to approach possible accounts though...
  20. Does anyone know of a supplier that has this that's true to the fragrance and sticks in soap? I purchased one and it's not even close.
  21. I've been reading up on trying to find one as well. Most say they smell like banana candy OOB, but SW was the only one I could find where people have said it mellows into a really nice banana scent. If anyone else can chime in, please do. I may have to look at candle cocoon too.
  22. Ooooh! Talk about blast from the past! I used to wear that when I was younger. That and another branch of the same type - it was a rain type and smelled sooooo fresh and clean and goooood. Sorry, I just realized I started typing and don't have any answers to your question, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has the answer as well!
  23. From a designer's aspect, I hope you tell her straight forward if dislike the direction she's taking your project before you jump ship and find someone else. Too many times I get people coming to me because they weren't happy with their previous designer and not much faith in the process. Sometimes the fix could have been as easy as saying "I don't like that". We're not mind readers. For example, my version of hip with a bit of elegant may be very different than your own idea. Examples and seeing things you're looking for without taking direct 'lifting' from another company or designer is ideal. JMO of course. I know life can get busy for me and I have a hard time keeping things in order (I normally put way too much on my plate at times). I would lie if I said that I haven't had a time or two when I've had email glitches or worse. I am honest though and forthright and appreciate patience. Just thought it might be nice to have a different perspective is all. Glad to hear she got in contact with you though.
