I can't speak for the others but Peak's Cabernet Grape, to me, doesn't smell anything like wine. It's pretty much just a straight grape, more like grape juice than anything. BCN has a Cabernet. I haven't tried it but maybe somebody else has and could throw in their 2 cents?? BCN also has a "Wine Cellar" FO. The description is: A full bodied blend of fine wines, complimented by a hint of oak. Wines are aged in oak barrels for years to achieve a deeper color, a richer and more complex flavor and an intense aroma. Close your eyes and inhale the intoxicating fragrance of a Napa Valley Winery!

Peak's Apple Blossom is incredible.

It's Christmas Cedar and not Christmas Tree? Woohoo!! I got a sample of Christmas Tree and loved it, was planning to add it to my line for this holiday season and was so sad to see that they had it listed as discontinued before I could use it (although, maybe that's better? Then I wouldn't be scrambling to find a replacement). If you're right, I will be so happy. Going to go see for myself! ETA: You're right, Christmas Tree isn't listed on the clearance page...however, the page for the FO itself still says it will be discontinued when stock runs out

I would recommend either Fudge Brownie from Peak or Chocolate Fudge from Candlescience...both are mouthwatering

That's what I thought after I saw what happened. I wonder why it's done that way? With candles I can kind of understand, since it changes form by the time it becomes the finished product, but if all you have to do is add a few drops of FO to an unscented base, it just becomes a scented base when you're done! Weird...thank you kindly for your answer!

Ok, so I am in the process of testing out bases for a small line of bath and body products. I was working with a 4 oz. sample of unscented base that I planned to pour into two 2 oz. bottles. Thing is, after I mixed in the FO, put the empty bottle on my scale, tared it to 0 and poured until my scale read 2 oz, my bottle was only half full. I poured the remainder into the other bottle and the same thing happened. It happened with both shower gel and lotion. I didn't bother to try body spray because I didn't want to waste it. So my question is, how am I supposed to weigh these things to fill up my bottles? Is the base listed by weight, but the finished product by volume? I'm so used to working with just candles that I assumed it was the same way - all weight instead of liquid volume - but it looks like I was wrong. Please help because until that happened I was having a blast and I can't wait to try them out in the shower!! Oh and feel free to laugh, because I'm sure this is a really stupid question. I am usually fairly intelligent but every now and then my brain goes flying out the window :rolleyes2

Thank you, Radellaf and ChrisR! People tend not to believe me when I tell them this...it's amazing how a marketing ploy can catch fire like the "soy is cleaner than paraffin" one did.

I've used it. It's a very nice, fresh and clean fragrance. I couldn't detect any anise in it whatsoever, though. Disappointing because that was my main reason for buying it! It's more of a complex, flowery lemon than anything. It would probably make great soaps (which I don't make, I'm just speculating!)

The price shouldn't have anything to do with the quality - I would think that if it's packaged and sold under the IGI-4627 name, the quality should be consistent. Of course I know minor inconsistencies in production can occur, but if those inconsistencies result in a nearly $25 price difference, then it should be called something else, IMO! I get mine from Candlescience, and they charge $39.99 for a 25-lb block. Candles and Supplies, on the other hand, charges $62.14 for (what they call) a 26-lb cube. Sorry, I'm not paying $22 for an extra pound of wax! I order mine from Candlescience (despite living 45 minutes from C&S). Even with the shipping from North Carolina added on, it's far cheaper than driving up to C&S to pick it up!
